Seriously I don't game *that* much. I guess Borderlands 2 was the most recent one.

Just looking for friends to chat with about nonsense and stuff as computers, music, whatever. Just installing Discord for the first time. Maybe you can make me want to explore the recent world of gaming? :3 looking forward!

Hi. I got a T5600 here, saved from a company who would have thrown it away. I removed the RAID controller intended for HDDs as I planned to use an SSD of course.

However, the system acts very strangely with its hard drives. When having more than one internal device connected via SATA, either it does not boot up at all or ignore one of them.

I keep getting different LED error codes (https://dl.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt\_desktop/esuprt\_dell\_precision\_workstation/precision-t5600\_owner's%20manual\_en-us.pdf), sometimes System Board Failure, sometimes USB Port Failure, sometimes Memory Configuration error. Occasionally, the machine boots and works without the slightest issue (need to do a stress test though).

Works fine with Debian GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, but NOT with Fedora (different error messages everytime). I have no clue why.

Memtest says all is fine.

Any ideas? Through it out of the window?

Title says it. I know I'll have/want to use perfume, but what are your experiences? Did your beloved ones notice anything?

mtf. Always hated my given name, for more than half of my life everyone calls me by a nickname I haven't really chosen (just initially mentioned it as a disinterested "yeah call me by ..." to people who actually became my friends and introduced me to their friends etc.) but suits the old me very well. Also I'm by far the only one with that name.

Sandra was given to me as a friendly joke on my female side, so I guess I'll end up taking it. The problem is, that in my area the name is not overall positively associated ... and I actually don't like it. Do I really have to choose a name? Like seriously? Can't I just hope that the people are having fun with me and I'll end up with a somewhat silly name? :) Did anyone else of you beautiful people have similar issues or questions?

Analog zu einem vorigen Post: ÜBERALL ist scheiß viel Zucker drin. Das ist ätzend! Ich liebe Essiggurken, in meinem lokalen Supermarkt gibt es 19(!) verschiedene Varianten, davon ALLE mit Zucker oder Süßstoff. Pestos, Tortellini, TK-Zeug ... Sogar meine Fischstäbchen haben Zucker zugesetzt. Die KonsumentInnen sollen durch Zuckerzugabe süchtig gemacht werden.

Oder auch in Dressings etc. "jA wEiL dEr ZuCKer nEuTRaliSieRt diE SäuRe" - dann hau weniger Essig rauf du Lulatsch.

... if I intend to play space rock? I currently have a mexican standard 2020, but the sustain is not sufficing. The colour and the finish don't matter much to me, but I'd prefer a black-black one.

Are there any other brands like Greco I could check out? Does a neck humbucker make any sense? (Bridge needs to be the twangy single coil, but more attack would be nice also). What type of wood would give me the highest sustain?

Unix guy thinking of purchasing a MacBook Neo here. I mostly need office stuff (Firefox, Thunderbird, LibreOffice) and some tools, all of which are available on homebrew. Does anyone here run macOS without an Apple ID (I believe I've had five or so, but those are use-once-and-forget if I need to install a certain application). Up until 10.14 it was perfectly fine to use a Mac without Apple ID. Is this still a thing? Would be an absolute no-go if I had to use an Apple ID ...

Ich lese so viel von Scams, Schwierigkeiten mit Lieferdiensten, Abzocken, Rücksendeproblemen etc ... Was und warum kauft ihr online ein, was man so dringend braucht? Außer Konzert/Festivaltickets und meinem Fairphone vor zwei Jahren hab ich lange nichts online gekauft. Was braucht ihr so, was es nicht generalüberholt, von Büroleerständen, in Läden in größeren Städten etc. gäbe? Die Convenience scheint es ja nicht unbedingt zu sein.

Ich benutze seit Vista kein Windows, bin daher totaler Noob. Immer wieder tauchen auf Reddit User auf, die nach Windows Updates(?) gepromptet werden, einen Bitlocker Key einzugeben?

Die Nummern sind doch sicherlich notiert ... oder sind die nur über den Microsoft-Account abrufbar? Muss man sich hier mit Sicherheitsfragen authentifizieren? Und wenn ja, sollte das nicht problemlos funktionieren?

Außerdem wozu das ganze Sicherheitsgetue? Über Phishing, Cracking, schlechte Passwörtern oder Social Engineering ist es doch viel leichter, Daten zu stehlen, als die Platte physisch auszubauen und in einen anderen Rechner reinzuknallen?

Verlieren die User hier regelmäßig Daten? Was ist der Sinn von Bitlocker?
