What size LiFe PO4 battery do you use for pota?

Hello! I’m looking to get a nice battery for pota with my yaesu 897D. I was looking at the 25Ah models but my friend says I should go with the 35Ah.

Purchased my first HF! Yaesu 897D

Hey everyone! Yesterday I bought my first HF and All band transceiver for $400! Did I get a good deal on it? I also purchased a 10-80m efhw to hang through my yard.

What’s the best 410 load for small game (squirrels, rabbits, etc)?

Imo best is the TSS ninja, for bulk though it’s going to remington express #6 3 inch.

Bff8hp pro question?

Hello! I am wondering what the application of gps can be used for in a standalone radio? (no others to share location) And The digital compass the instructions said it had.. I can’t find any information on it actually giving n s e w directions. I cannot tell if it’s just for finding other radios shared to it or it has an actual compass.

Also is there anything else special about this radio I need to know about?

Thank you! 73!

Is the Bf-f8HP really worth $70 if the K5plus is $25?

Besides the proprietary gps in the bff8hp and other small changes what’s really the difference? Is it cleaner or better in any way? If anything it’s more laggy/rough looking.

Right now if price didn’t count i’d think the k5plus is a nicer radio..

hello everyone, I recently bought a btech uv pro off Amazon, and for some reason, I’m just not a fan, I’m going to return it. What is another radio around that price point that will last a long time and is quality?

My baofeng k5plus tri babd feels a lot better than this uv pro. And I would like to seamlessly move all my channels from chirp onto whatever said radio is. So this radio should have 2m, 1.25m, and 70cm.

Preferably the radio is off amazon so I can use the $190 return credit from the uv pro.

The seller is giving me a good price for my son when he passes his tech test. This thing is about 10 years old and looks pretty nice, only issue is a plastic knob snapped off but it’s a $20 part on ebay to fix, what are yalls thoughts of this radio and a home depot special dipole antenna?

It also comes with built in AC wall plug in

Hello! I have been using my k5plus for the past few months and I love it a ton but when I bought an upgrade, the btech uvpro, Its just so complicated and for what it does my phone can do. For this reason I’m thinking of returning it.

So I’m in the market for an easy to use, triband, similar to the k5plus but quality, even though to me the k5plus already feels quality..

Thanks for the help!

My everyday carry radio is a baofeng k5plus currently. A few years ago I passed my technicians exam but never really got into radio after that. These are what I had laying around. How does this radio compare to my k5plus’s?
