Student test scores in small schools

One thing that I have been curious about is overall test scores in a school. Now I know the larger the school the less impact a student's score makes overall. So for example say an elementary school of about 300 students, how much would a single or a few out performing (above grade level) student(s) affect the overall school test scores and grade test scores?

Omega 3 oils

I am looking for a good brand of omega-3 fish oils for my 5 year old but I'm having a difficult time finding the right brand.

•Oil drops (no gummies)

•No added flavors or extra stuff

That's all I want. But finding a brand has been difficult

I ready in public schools?

Hey, I was wondering if all the elementary schools within Bellingham school district used I-ready and if so how often are kindergarteners having to use a device for i-ready?

And do you know if anything is supposed to be changing in the future?

Reading success!

My daughter learned to read when she was 4, and she just turned 5. Getting her to read is the challenging part. I always try to make it fun, I even bought ALL the fidget games and we use Squishyland the most.

I was in the car trying to send notes to my daughter who refused to read them (trying to ensure she gets practice).

Anyways she refused to read, and I said "Good job! You followed the directions!". Which stopped her right then and there. She then HAD to read the note to see if that was true. So the rest of the car ride for 30 minutes straight, was just back and forth of notes like

"Hey, stop reading this!"

"You need to stop this right now."

"You are NOT allowed to read this."

"The duck will peck you if you read this" (turned my hand into a duck to peck her after)

"What did I say?! No more reading!!"

"The chicken said 'you need to stop this reading right now.'"

Little messages like that, and making crazy offended faces when I heard her read the messages. And she would bust out laughing the entire time, giving me the drawing pad back to write more. It turned a fussy ride into a ride full of laughter.

Anyways just wanted to share my big win

Edit: Wow I got a lot of downvotes for some reason 😅

Bible reading

So, now that Bible reading is required, are we going to read the Bible stories after we read about folktales and myths from around the world? Are we going to collect on adding chapter books based on different religions and mythology similar to Percy Jackson for our classrooms for kids to borrow and read? His dark materials anyone?

Warrior cats

Does anyone still roleplay warrior cats on transformice com? Back when I was in 5th grade years ago I used to make or join warrior cat clans, on transformice. We would build clan camps with some having a tv added into it in order to share YouTube videos to watch together for fun. We would roleplay and join rooms to play games. We would even create alliances with other clans and do four trees where all 4 clans would come together in a room and play and intermingle. We even had forums for our tribe in which we could share our OCs and play forum games.

Was wondering if anyone still did that?

Muslims in the US

To get started I just want to say that I am an atheist. And while I hold negative feelings toward the middle eastern religions, I judge people by their actions, not their religious beliefs.

In the US there have been a LOT of anti-muslim propaganda in the US this past year. Like a horrendous neo-nazi amount of propaganda with people seemingly very happy to harass and threaten Muslims just minding their own business. Suggesting murderous things. All justified by the idea due to the existence of Muslim extremists - even if the muslims they are targeting are innocent.

Now one thing I have been seeing recently is a lot of people (mainly Christians) comment on is how "Islam isn't a religion, it is an ideology!"

Does anyone know where this is coming from and why they are saying that? I believe they are making that excuse as a means to disassociate from Islam as a religion, as well as claim that freedom of religion doesn't count for Muslims because "it's an ideology not a religion", thus being able to find ways to go around the constitution and ban Muslims. (Not to mention justifying the genocides in other countries done by Israel)

But it's strange because usually these things are gradual ideas that spread, but this has been all at once. So where exactly is this coming from?
