how to move into college

I move into college tomorrow and I’m absolutely terrified. I’m going to miss my parents and my boyfriend, we’re going to be 500 miles apart. I’m so anxious and stressed I haven’t been able to sleep. I live in a large metropolitan city and now I’m moving into the middle of nowhere where I don’t know anyone. I’m going to share a room with two other girls and I love having my own personal space and me time. On top of that I have bad misophonia so I imagine dorms will be my own personal hell. Help?

[Product Request] how can I get rid of this scar?

I got this burn scar in April when I had an accident ironing my hair. Is there anything I can do to get rid of it or at the very least minimize it? I put sunscreen on it all the time so it doesn’t get darker. Thanks!

unbunking beds

i’m gonna be in a large triple in yakitutu and me and my roommates were planning on unbunking our bunk beds but i’m not sure if there’s any real consequence if we do it ourselves as opposed to maintenance. will anyone care?

do hollister jeans length shrink in the wash?

I usually get the regular length but I accidentally got short and it’s the perfect size and would look awkward if any shorter. Will washing and drying it make it shorter? I live in a dorm and can’t really air dry or hand wash stuff.

remarkable vs ipad

I’m an incoming engineering freshman in college and wanting to make digital notes next year as I’ve heard it’s helpful. So it’s mainly be for studying physics and math. I’m really only going to use the device for taking notes in class, reviewing them, and studying. I don’t have an Apple ecosystem, I have an iPhone and a Dell laptop. Ideally I’d like to be able to open my notes on my laptop (which I’ve heard you can do with Goodnotes, not sure if Remarkable notes are transferable).

Any suggestions?

incoming engineering student, concerns

Hi, I’m an incoming first-year electrical engineering student. People talk about how hard engineering is online and I’m trying to believe in myself but it’s kind of discouraging and it makes me feel scared I won’t succeed. I’m starting the semester off taking Calculus 1 and Physics 1 and a lot of people in my year and major have already finished the calculus and physics track prior to college which makes me feel like I’m already behind. I’m worried that when I feel stupid I’ll feel stupid for being a girl and not for being a student taking a hard class.

Also, did any of you work part time throughout college and be successful? My parents are pushing me to work but I’m worried it’ll be to difficult with my degree.

I’m also worried about being able to juggle a social life with my degree. People say in engineering you choose between a social life and sleep and unfortunately I like both. I have a boyfriend who goes to a university five hours away who’s planning on coming down for a weekend every month but surely I’ll have two free days a month?

I really like math and science. Being an engineer has been my dream since I was little and I am dedicated to working really hard. Any advice on these things?

ultra low rise sizing

anyone have issues fitting into the ultra low rise jeans? usually i’m a size 0 but the jeans that I ordered literally would not fit over my hips. once I got them on they fit
my waist fine but it was a struggle. I went to the store and sized up and had the same issue, and a size 4 was too baggy around the waist. they were so cute and I wanted to love them so bad 😭 does this mean the curvy would be a better fit? I have many pairs of jeans from hollister and they all fit me fine

how often is it okay to heat style hair?

I hate the natural texture of my hair, it’s super wavy and honestly hard to maintain. Every curly hair routine is too time consuming and so is diffusing and I hate not being able to brush it out. I feel SO much more confident when I blow out my hair. For the past six months i’ve been using the Wavytalk blowout boost on my hair 2-3 times every week. I use the Tresemme heat protectant shampoo and conditioner and heat protectant before I straighten it. I’m not sure if my hair has gotten damaged from this but i’m unsure if continuing to straighten it would cause more damage. I’m heading off to college in the fall (communal, shared gender bathrooms) where diffusing my hair seems less realistic and slower than just straightening it. Any thoughts or help?
