Advice for finding a suitable battery (High voltage LiPo with BMS, ~500mah)

Hi guys, I'm looking to find a battery for a small bluetooth phone keyboard I have, where my goal is to replace the original for a smaller one to fit in a tighter space to make the keyboard smaller. (original is 2300mah, looking at say ~500mah)

This would be pretty straightforward normally, however the keyboard uses a high voltage LiPo (3.87v nominal, 4.4v charged).

I was just wondering what options I have? I was thinking about using a regular 1s LiHV lipo usually used in small drones, but the original battery has three pins, one being a thermistor/temperature sensor, so I'm guessing the original battery has a BMS while one of these drone batteries would not. I am aiming to just hook up the battery to the original terminals, and use the existing charging circuitry the keyboard has. I suppose I could solder the original battery's BMS to the two terminals of the 1s lipo instead?

Any advice or input would be appreciated, thanks

Clicks slider modded to be a bit thinner vs old slider I made a good while ago

Working on making the clicks thinner so it can live permanently on the back of my phone as a case, currently it’s still a bit thicker than my original slider keyboard I made a year or two ago out of a zitaotech keyboard (and MUCH heavier) but once I eventually replace the battery and back cover on the clicks it will be slightly thinner

I moved the sliding plate upwards two millimetres so it would sit flush with the front bump of the clicks, so that frees room internally for a smaller battery so hopefully the backplate can be completely flush (and hopefully it’ll get a bit less brick heavy!)

Add window control from key

Hi all,

So in some markets like mine, the key cannot open/close the windows. I was just wondering if there's any way to retrofit that functionality? Our market did not get the keyless go card thing, just a regular key (UK). I know the ND has the MX5Things module, but I don't think there's anything like that for NC.

Thanks!

High quality wood effect vinyl for interior?

Hi all,

Back in winter I managed to wrap my interior dash piece with some wood effect vinyl (both matte and had wood imprinting), and it was great! Unfortunately during a heatwave the cheap stuff I used more intended for furniture (all I could find at the time) started bubbling from the heat as seen in the second pic.

I am looking for recommendations of high quality wrap that can withstand summer heat, ideally the "grain" should be horizontal instead of vertical too

I heard about 3M Di-Noc in old forum posts, is it still the go to? Are there any alternatives or better stuff these days?

Thanks!

Wait/confirm before doing exit task?

Hi, weird question

I have a simple BT connected state which turns on my hotspot when the phone is connected to my car's bluetooth for my headunit to get internet access, then turns off the hotspot as an exit task.

The bluetooth connection occasionally dips just for a second or so every now and again however, so the exit task fires and then the BT connected state refires, so it knocks out the internet connection on my headunit for a solid 30 seconds as it takes a while to reconnect.

I was just wondering how I'd go about adding a sort of delay, eg "wait 5 seconds then check if the bluetooth is still disconnected, and only then turn off the hotspot" or something to that effect.

  • The menu/wiki for the "If" option there doesn't seem to be an option to check a particular bluetooth device is connected like in the state menu
  • Would just adding a wait at the start of the exit task work? Do exit tasks get aborted halfway through (in this case during the wait hopefully) if the state is made true again?

Thanks
