Used CX30 vs Mazda3 Hatch

Hey everyone, I’m currently in between choosing a Mazda3 Hatch FWD 2.5 NA and a CX30 FWD 2.5NA. I am currently in college and would like to have some insight on the two. Before considering these 2 cars I was very torn on getting a 10th civic hatch or a Crosstrek. The civic provided good MPG while the Crosstrek provided good ground clearance and AWD for the occasional hiking/camping trip. Now the only thing these two choices lacked is reliability in certain areas. The civic hatch has AC issues and a turbo (I prefer NA for reliability) and then the Crosstrek has the tendency to burn oil and has a loud cabin. Both also have CVTs

I ended up choosing the Mazda3 Hatch and the CX30 which both have quieter cabins and have a traditional automatic transmission. I would like the Mazda 3 hatch for how cool it looks, along either it’s decent MPG but the ride height is a little low for my liking. I then looked at the CX30, which is a lifted which helps with my occasional camping trip but it has worse MPG. Is the MPG difference between the CX30 FWD and 3 FWD any different? Also how does the AWD CX 30 MPG compare to the FWD?

Corolla vs Civic

I currently have a choice to get either a 2019 Corolla Hatchback XSE for $12,100 or a 2017 Civic Hatchback EX with $15,900.

The Corolla has 129k miles, 1 minor damage report, single owner, clean title.

The civic has 139k miles, 2 owners, no accidents, clean title.

I’m really torn if it is worth paying the extra cash for the civic due to its better driving experience and way more cargo space but I also really like how much i can save going for the cheaper Corolla hatch and potentially more reliable engine since it’s naturally aspirated.

I’m looking for a car I can use through out college and potentially keep using it afterwards but if I get the Corolla, I’d be more inclined to replacing it when I graduate due to its lack of cargo space.

Any advice would be very helpful!

2017 Manual Civic Hatchback

Looking at this manual civic. I just sold my old truck for 10k and was thinking of putting it into this. It is one owner and only minor damage reported, no accidents.

If I were to talk him down to maybe 8-9k would this be a decent deal? Only thing I wish it was an EX trim. How much worse is the LX trim than the other trims, aside from push button, sound system quality, cosmetics, what else am I missing?

Clean title, no accidents, 2 owners. first owner only did two oil changes with 40k gap on the second one but maybe they did it themselves? they sold it at 60k, the second owner had very consistent maintenance intervals at 5k every oil changes until 121k.

transmission was replaced at 95k, But it was done by a Honda dealer. is this a red flag?

Is this a good deal?

2015 Prius V, not sure what the V means.

175k miles, Clean title, one owner, no accidents. I’m still unsure of the maintenance history, but assuming they got regular oil changes, is this worth it? If the hybrid battery or headgasket haven’t been replaced yet but didn’t show any signs of leaking or damage would it still be a good deal?

Hello everyone,

I'm currently looking at a car (private sale) that is located in CA and the seller notified me that he can take some of the price off because of the tags being behind 2 years. but with that, I am based in NV and plan to register the car in NV. To my knowledge, doesn't the registration stick to the person when it comes to NV and in CA, the reg sticks to the car?

If I were to purchase this car, get a moving permit from the NV DMV valid for 30 days, can I then just go to CA, buy the car from the guy with title, bill of sale, and not worry about paying the late registration fees for the car?

would that mean the late registration is attached to me at that point? In NV, the seller usually keeps the plate.
