Would you accept an embryo donation from your sister and her husband?
I’m 30F and I’ve always wanted to be a mother. I thought I’d be starting a family next year, but after a recent breakup, that future suddenly disappeared and I’ve been heartbroken.
My sister gave birth through IVF 4 months ago, and she and her husband still have 2 frozen embryos. They offered to donate them to me, provided I have my own place and a certain amount of savings. I’m considering becoming a single mom and possibly doing the embryo transfer around 33, giving myself a few years to prepare.
The embryos are genetically theirs, so my sister would be the biological mother and her husband the biological father, while I would carry and raise the child.
I’m really excited about the possibility, but I’m also wondering if this could become complicated for me, my sister, or especially the child later in life.
Would you do it? Do you think knowing their aunt and uncle are their biological parents could create emotional or family complications?

My ex cheated with a co-worker after I moved for work. Years later, my fiancé left me for his co-worker too, after I came back from Spain to build our future together. Am I cursed?
In 2021, during the height of COVID, I had a boyfriend. I lived in Leyte, where there weren’t many opportunities to grow professionally. I wasn’t the type of person who could stay without work, so when I got a job in Cebu, I decided to move.
He wasn’t happy about my decision and didn’t really support it, but I had to do what was best for my future. A few months later, I found out he had been cheating on me with his co-worker. I was heartbroken. To make things worse, they made me look like I was the bad person in the relationship. He told me he fell out of love because of the long distance.
After some time, I met another guy on Facebook. He was everything I was looking for. He was a seafarer, so I thought distance would never be a problem since we both understood that kind of life.
Everything was easy with him. When he wasnot in board, we lived together. We rarely argued, and we never had any major problems.
Then I got the chance to follow my dream of going to Europe. He was the one who encouraged me to go and even helped me financially. Before I left for Spain, I told him, “If going to Spain will change our relationship, then I won’t go. Our relationship is my priority.” He told me not to worry and promised that nothing would change. I promised I would come back after two years, and we planned to get married when I returned.
Two years later, he visited me in Spain, proposed to me, and I said yes.
When my time in Spain ended, I came back to the Philippines just like I promised. I came back for him. He was still onboard and was supposed to finish his contract in November. I even started planning our dream house with his parents.
But then something changed.
He stopped replying as often. He was rarely online, and it became harder to contact him. I had a bad feeling, but I kept hoping I was wrong.
Then one Tuesday evening, he called me. The first thing he said was, “I’m very sorry, langga, pero hindi na natin matutuloy lahat ng plano natin.”
Those words completely broke me. I was already building my future around us.
I asked him if there was another woman. At first, he denied it. But after asking again and again, he finally admitted there was someone else. She was also his co-worker.
The same thing happened in my previous relationship.
Both relationships ended because of another woman at work.
At this point, I can’t help but ask… am I just unlucky, or is there something I’m missing?
Is there a good language school/visa program in Italy that can eventually be converted to a work visa? (Filipino asking for advice)
Hi everyone!
I’m from the Philippines, and I’m planning to move to Italy. I want to enroll in an Italian language school, and my goal is to find a job later and, if possible, change my permit to a work visa.
I lived in Spain for two years while studying for my master’s degree. I really enjoyed my time there, but going back to Spain would be very painful for personal reasons. Because of that, I want to start a new chapter in Italy.
I’m looking for a good language school or program that is worth joining. If you’ve done this before or know someone who has, I’d really appreciate any advice or recommendations.
Thank you!
My fiancè (29M) just called off the engagement
My ex-fiancé (29M) just broke up with me (30F). We were together for 4 and a half years, and most of our relationship was long distance because he works as a seafarer while I worked in Spain for 2 years. I recently came back to the Philippines so we could finally start the life we planned together, build our house and get married. He was a good boyfriend throughout our relationship. He was kind, a good provider, and a decent man. That’s why I never expected this to happen.
A few days before he told me, I noticed he had changed. He was rarely online, didn’t seem interested in the house we were building, and never talked about our wedding anymore. I confronted him and called him. The first thing he said was, “Langga, sorry kaayo. Dili na madayon atong mga plano.” I asked him why, and he said he wasn’t ready for marriage. He told me he only proposed because he felt pressured and that he had been falling out of love with me for a while.
I couldn’t believe him because he visited me in Spain last Christmas, and I really felt that he loved me. So I asked if there was someone else. He denied it at first. I kept asking until I mentioned the name of a girl who is also a seafarer. He still denied it, but when I told him I would message her myself, he suddenly got scared. That’s when I knew my gut feeling was right. Looking back, I remembered that this girl had been viewing almost all of my stories for months. It seemed like a small thing, but it was enough to make me suspicious.
Now I don’t know what to do or how to start over. I came back to the Philippines because of him and the future we planned together, and now he left me for another woman. The hardest part is thinking that they might be the ones who will live the life we dreamed of. I can’t stop thinking about the house we spent months planning together.
I gave up my life abroad to come home and build a future with my fiancé. Instead, he ended our engagement and chose someone else. How do I move on from losing both the person I loved and the future we planned?
