Dog trainer talent query

Hello all,

For the dog trainer talent, the wording has confused me a little bit.

For the 10GP talent on a Chieftain, does this mean that all of my hound masters have 4 dogs each now?

Or do I have to pay 10GP for each of my hound masters to have the extra dog? If so, do I have to apply the talent again to the chieftan (or second cheiftan) or just pay the extra GP within the same talent slot?

Thanks

Warband WYSIWYG and tournaments?

Hello,

Ive recently built up a decent number of models using the victrix miniatures warbands in preparation for some regular casual games with friends.

I have two questions really:

1 - are there any tournaments or games days in the UK for pillage wargame, or an easier way to search for them

2 - in terms of WYSIWYG, my models have the correct weapons and armour levels, but I have used parts from a variety of kits including medieval foot knights and sergents, saxons, late roman, Norman, Irish etc, so aesthetically they are a mix.

Would there be a problem to use these in different factions? For example, using my unarmoured spearmen as Irish, Picts, and Scots, but then for a different warband count as unarmoured spearmen for Saxons?

My thinking is that historically there was never too much uniformity for armour and weapons between contemporary groups, and i could always imagine that pillaging groups could use weapons and armour that they raid from defending forces and vice versa?

I will hopefully be uploading my progression as I paint my guys up

Thanks everyone

Also just wanted to say

I primarily play 40k (competitively, but also for the lore, creativity for kitbashing my own headcannon warbands, and fun) so its nice to be part of a smaller community who seem so welcoming (ive gladly seen that meta chasers are not common here)

Feudal guard

Using victrix miniatures foot knights, I just added the arms and gun from spare guard bits

I like the look to be honest

Thoughts?

Test model varnished

I did a matte varnish and Im happy enough with the outcome

Its dulled it a little bit, but i quite like the effect

What are your thoughts?

Some success with battleshock

I have had a few games of 11th, and have tried to go all in for battleshocks to see if I can make it work

My list has been relatively simple (3 abominants, 3 executioner, 3 stalkers)

Traitoris lance and hunting warpack:

Roll for 2 abilities (could return roll both or either), pick another. Main ones to aim for turn 1 is despair, dismay, and dominion. Then whatever is left for turn 3 and 5. This means that my auras are 12 inch, test below starting, and minus 2 to leadership in aura.

Stalkers to get far forward early to spread aura, be a nuisance, and do actions.

Abominants to sticky objective (enhancement), do mortal mortal wounds, force battleshock tests (enhancement to do at start of fight phase as well)

Executioners with upgrades to finish off units to cause more tests, whilst ignoring cover, and do backline screening.

Some nice strats for feel no pains in combat (any knight can get 6 FNP or 5 FNP if enemy is battleshocked), or a 5 FNP for wardogs

Plunging fire is nice for abominants to actually give them some AP

I quite like recon as force disposition so its simple and mostly just needs to do a couple actions and some objectives (1 CP action and shoot is great for executioners and aboms can do normally)

Ive won using this list against custodes, sisters, and CSM, and lost once against dark angels. The -2 leadership is deceptively nice against things with usually high leadership

Custodes v Chaos Knights 59:100

Sisters of battle v Chaos Knights 50:100

Dark angels v Chaos Knights 86:75

Chaos space marines v Chaos Knights 52:99

Beast of nurgle proxy

I had two spare bloat drone bodies after using the turbines for my daemon prince mutilator conversions. So I scraped the nurgle symbols off, took the guns off, and added legs from the legions imperialis overlord stalker constructs to create demon engine looking beasts of nurgle. I think it fits well with my defilers and venomcrawlers

let me know what you think

▲ 265 r/Chaos40k

for my warband, I like the technovirus and demon engine theme as opposed to purely demonic

using the new mutilators, and spare bits, I am trying to create some demon princes, with and without (wings)

so far ive built a daemon prince on foot

I will make another post to update progress
