Do you take off a star if the Dasher doesn’t follow instructions?

I make sure these are the instructions before submitting delivery and I’ve worded it differently with the same ultimate instructions, but they don’t read it or don’t care. 90% of the time they put it on the door mat. I live in a house so it’s not like there are many units. I never deduct stars because I always get different Dashers and the food is in a bag, but this annoys me regardless. Should I just admit defeat? I do tip well and the restaurants I order from are usually less than five miles away (mobility issues before people tell me to just get it myself).

I am so sick of substituted and missing ingredients

Ok so we really enjoy HomeChef meals, but I’m becoming increasingly fed up with the constant mistakes and inferior substitutions. Half the time seasonings, sauces, etc are missing or incorrect. If it’s a regular seasoning like garlic salt that’s fine because I have it, but other times it’s unique spices. I was super annoyed that the pasta I made last week had to do without the fresh minced garlic and lemon basil. This time, instead of getting two medium/large russet potatoes, I got three tiny Yukon potatoes for the two of us without any alternate cooking instructions.

I’m grateful for this service because I didn’t know how cook at all before starting HomeChef in January. I’ve gone from mostly only getting oven ready and Tempo to more involved and intermediate meal kits. We love how they turn out and it’s very convenient (minus the mistakes). I don’t want to cancel, but I’m at my wit’s end. Any advice or commiseration would be appreciated!

Second-guessing the tip I gave.

I use DoorDash a couple of times a month and decided to use it this evening as I took a medication for pain that makes me sleepy. The order was two small bowls from a Mediterranean place that is 2.2 miles away. I did a $3.64 tip (even number total) and I thought it was decent given the size of the order and distance. I usually tip around 20%, but tonight that was what I could budget for. Was that tip ok because I’m feeling guilty 😭 Thanks in advance!

ETA: I want honest opinions, but please don’t be mean or unhelpful. I worked as a waitress for a few years and as a barista for six so tipping is very important to me. I pride myself in being a good tipper so this is the first and last time I will tip so low. I do have chronic pain, don’t feel comfortable driving on opioids, and didn’t really feel up for cooking.

Do you consider looking up definitions as “cheating” or “hints”?

I just got one of my oldest friends to start doing the NYT daily puzzles with me (Wordle, spelling bee, connections, sudoku, crosswords) and I mentioned that I sometimes when I play Connections have to Google definitions of words/terms I don’t know and she said that I was taking the easy way out! It’s nothing heated, I just wanted to get your opinions agreeing with me (just kidding!!). In a way I get what she’s saying- if the terms are from a movie I don’t know/hobby I’m unfamiliar with so I see that pattern quickly once looking it up, but I think it’s only fair that I understand terminology. What are your thoughts?

ETA: Split crowd so far. To clarify, I do not look up definitions in every game, I wouldn’t even say most games. In the games I do google, it’s only maybe a couple of words. I don’t look up a definition to cheat, I just want to know what it means so I can connect it with other words. I am American and I’m a big reader, but I don’t know props used in old cartoons, haven’t seen The Godfather, and I’m not familiar with ballet materials (exs of things I googled). That doesn’t mean, as a commenter suggested, I don’t have a wide sense of general knowledge. Feel free to speak your opinion, but please don’t insult my intelligence.

Just watched the series for the first time!

I thought the series was unpredictable, exciting, and compelling with great acting and character development. I will say that I guess I was expecting more from season 6. People have said the series is worth the watch just for the series finale but it felt rushed and lackluster to me. Anyone else agree? Still one of the best shows I’ve ever seen, 9 out of 10. A few other thoughts/questions:

  1. The KGB/Gabriel/Claudia should’ve listened to Philip and Elizabeth’s concerns about being out of town so frequently with Stan as their neighbor instead of telling them to figure it out.
  2. What is going to happen to Paige? I think Henry will be fine because he genuinely knew nothing, but Paige was involved in missions and Stan knows she was.
  3. How are they accepted into Russia warmly after Elizabeth admitted to Claudia what she had done?

ETA: I guess I was confused about the last mission. So Claudia was working against the kgb? I guess I took it at face value when she indicated Elizabeth was screwed

Does anyone else’s bully ignore them sometimes?

Kobe is my favorite creature in the world. He is always happy, very sweet and affectionate, and is so goofy. That being said, he has selective hearing. I could be 5 feet away from him saying his name and he won’t even raise his ears or turn his head. He is a senior dog, but he is not hard of hearing. He responds if he feels like it and everytime, as soon as I say treat, he perks up 🙄😐😅

Pick one- HB3 or Everybody Scream?

I appreciate every F+tM album, but HB3 has always been my favorite album ever, period. Now, Everybody Scream is almost tied. Which one do you like better? What’s your fav and least fav album??

My rankings are HB3>ES>Lungs>Ceremonials>HaH>DF

Skittles quality control issues?

Skittles have always been my favorite candy (now it’s tied with Trolli Eggs) and I’ve found that the quality isn’t as consistent as it used to be. Here and there I’ve noticed a few skittles that aren’t sweet, that taste very bland, but they were few and far between. I got one of those big resealable bags from the grocery store and 30% of the skittles are bland. I’m pretty annoyed. Has anyone else notice this? Should I write a letter (kidding, White Chicks reference)?

Stuck in a rut for two years now and I feel so far gone I'm not sure where to start.

I (34F, single, no kids) was dealing with a chronic pain issue that that became so debilitating I had to leave work in early 2024. I had to wait months to get a third surgery done and spent a lot of time in bed on the heating pad. I’ve also struggled with mental health from a young age and it’s gotten much worse over the past few years.

My pain is now manageable, but I am so depressed I think I’m agoraphobic (I’ll do anything not to leave the house) and I have no motivation. I sleep as much as I can, I gorge on junk food, my room is such a mess, and I’m at my highest weight ever. I’m miserable but I’m stagnant. I now have so much debt it’s dizzying.

I do have a psychiatrist of ten years and I’ve tried soooo many different meds I’m now refusing to change again after adjusting dosages and medications every other month because this can’t be the meds at this point. I did have a therapist, but I need to find another. I have no kids and no partner.

There is something within me that needs to waken up. If anyone can please help me, I’d really really appreciate it ♥️

Is anyone else exhausted with brain fog (24 hours in)?

Symptoms started a little over 24 hours ago and left the ER a few hours ago diagnosed with BP. I asked the RN if fatigue is a side effect and she said no, but I am so so tired. My brain is foggy and I feel like I can’t think clearly. When I google search, the results indicate that’s not a side effect either. Has this happened to you? I tested negative for COVID and the flu. I haven’t had any viral symptoms but I did have a fever a few days ago which was very unusual for me (I never get feverish).

Not Quite Dead Yet by Holly Jackson- why are the characters constantly sniffing?

I’ve noticed it with her other books too. I enjoy her writing, but it’s grating my nerves! Has anyone else noticed/been bothered by this?

Does anyone else hoard audiobooks?

Trying to see if I have a problem or not. I have about 500 *unread* audiobooks across several different platforms. They’re mostly mysteries, thrillers, or sci fi with the odd fiction. I always buy audiobooks on sale or for free on top of monthly credits. Some I’ve gotten years ago, but I started to really build my collection over the past year. How many unread audiobooks do you have and am I certifiable?

ETA: I listen to audiobooks everyday (I borrow a lot from Libby) and I have more than 500 that I own- the rest are just unread.

Is it ethical/legal for merch to be replicated?

I really like the Too Feminine to Function sweatshirt but I was unable to get it at the concert. Could I get something similar on Etsy if I ask a seller or is that not ok? Please be nice, I truly don’t know

My first show was magical + there are still kind strangers out there

I just saw Flo in Los Angeles. I’ve been a fan since high school- not sure why it took me so long to see her. I did go alone as I don’t know any other fans irl. She sang all the songs I hoped she’d sing and her vocals live are insane. We were also both wearing similar red dresses. I danced and sang my heart out and felt happier than I have in over a year. I cried at the end lol.

Shout out to the parking manager who saved me tonight. I got my parking pass the same time I got my seat on Ticketmaster through ParkWhiz and it said id be in a lot next to the Kia Forum. I get there and the lot was in a *different city*. I panicked because every nearby lot was full plus I only had $20 on me. I was in tears. I ended up finding an open parking lot, but the guy said it was $80. I asked if there was any wiggle room and he told me to ask his boss. I explained my situation and he gestured for me to park. I tried to give him the $20, but he waved me off and told me to enjoy the show. Thanks to that super kind man I got to my seat in the middle of the first song (Everybody Scream).

Got the butter chicken naan wraps… but was given French rolls instead of the naan. When I went to mark an issue on the app, French rolls were listed and not naan. That’s crazy to me as naan is pictured and listed on the recipe. Should I reach out or move on? I would not have gotten this if I knew it came with rolls.
