Am I chasing a unicorn?

Hello guys, I got a 2019 XC90 T6 Inscription(Polestar Tuned) a couple of months ago and I am in love with it.

I can’t get over B&W and started having my morning coffee in the car with some 70’s Rock music.

It took me a while to find this car at the price that I needed but my neurodivergent mind can’t stop thinking about the optional massage seats and heated steering.

I thought the T6 Inscription Polestar tuned with BW was fully loaded, I was not aware about the Lounge pack and climate pack.

Are there cars which have all these specs? I know plenty of B6 models do but I love the extra few horse power that I get with the Polestar variant and also the toggle switch to change modes.

The newer XC90s don’t appeal to me compared to the previous generations.

Thanks

Losing faith in IOS, why does it suck so much?

It first started with unable to save new contacts, kept clicking okay but nothing happened but once I closed the app the contact was saved.

This was genuinely the first time I had issue with ios not working as intended in 10 years of experience.

Today tried renaming multiple playlists on music and sorted them alphabetically. They still hold the same position, can change their position if I sort them by last updated but as soon as I switch to alphabetically it doesn’t work.

Remember naming few playlists six months ago and worked fine.

[Discussion] Automatic watches and power reserve.

I bought my first automatic watch in 2023, a Bulova Marine Star. I guess I wanted something with a really busy dial and a bit of a Hublot vibe. Don’t hate me.
I rarely wore it though because my taste developed pretty quickly and I found myself gravitating towards more minimalistic designs.
Then I bought a PRX Automatic, but after only wearing it a handful of times I gifted it to my dad. I was planning to buy a Hamilton Murph, but it was just outside my budget, so I ended up getting a Seiko 5 instead. I have never been happier. It’s my daily now. Sometimes I don’t even take it off before going to bed.
The one thing that kept bothering me was the power reserve. It claimed around 41 hours, but I was barely getting 12 to 14 hours. At one point I convinced myself that maybe I’d damaged it after swimming in the ocean. I was actually considering taking it back to the store to get it checked.
Thankfully, the algorithm gods came to the rescue. I stumbled across a post from someone complaining about the exact same thing.
Because I never wore the Bulova or the Tissot long enough, I never really learned what winding an automatic watch actually meant. I genuinely thought giving it a shake and wearing it all day was enough for it to hold a 40-hour power reserve.
I literally jumped out of bed, unscrewed the crown, and gave it a proper wind. That sound and feeling gave me chills. I couldn’t stop laughing at myself.
I’ve probably spent hundreds of hours watching Teddy Baldassarre and other watch channels, yet somehow I completely missed one of the most basic things about automatic watches.
I’m just glad I didn’t walk into the store asking them to diagnose a perfectly healthy watch, only to get a lesson on how to wind it. I was even considering buying one of those watch winders.
Anyway, I hope my tomfoolery gave someone a laugh.

I was in the market for a field watch, couldn’t find a good deal on Hamilton Murph so ended up getting a Seiko. I’m loving it 🥰

Visiting Dealerships for the first time.

G’day I’m planning to buy my first car in next few days, I have been leasing previously so haven’t had any interaction with dealerships yet.

I’m planning to get a SUV and my budget is around $35k, I really like XC-90, Sorento, CX9 and Kodiaq. Plan is to get 2018 or newer with a clean service history.

I’m based in Melbourne and for some reason most of the dealers listing are + $3000 for a similar spec car in Sydney.

I’m not a local and so can anyone explain if the dealership prices are negotiable? As I don’t want to be disrespectful to the salesperson, there are lot of cars which are close to the $40000 mark and was wondering if a bid of $36000 would be acceptable?

A few of the cars are still under manufacturer warranty, so bit unsure if I should engage with extended warranty conversations with dealerships. XC90s and XC60s are really confusing, as they are not under warranty and can cost a fortune to repair.

Would love to hear your thoughts on visiting dealerships, negotiations and some useful tips.
