2023 500 with under 600 miles. Fair price?

Can I get a reality check?

My thoughts are this would be worth about $5500 private party. It doesn’t come with a warranty at all, and has been siting so it’ll need new fluids.

Am I wrong here? Is it worth any more than that?

Purchase help - ABS / carburator.

Dipping my toes into maybe wanting to start riding.

I'm handy and would do my own maintenance but I've never cleaned or rebuilt a carburator. Not knowing what I don't know, I'm thinking of avoiding a bike with a carb.

I'm also an absolute idiot magnet on the road even in a bright red truck. I am great at avoiding the idiots though, and thinking ABS would be beneficial.

Is my way of thinking here flawed?

Thinking of a rebel 500 abs but open to something older and cheaper if my thinking is flawed.

If a carb isn't tough to clean and abs isn't all it's cracked up to be, I was considering a V Star 650 as well.

Cost isn't really my biggest concern, more longevity and safety.

Best $15 grill ever.

Found on road dead with a sign that said it wasn’t burning evenly.

Completely rusted grates, tubes, and bars. But guess what? Completely under warranty still. Under a 5 year old grill. Only thing I needed to buy was an aftermarket igniter.

Some simple green & elbow grease and it’s brand new. Been burning chicken on this thing for about a month with zero issues. Love it.

Did you change rotors with your pads? 1st brake job

Did my slide pin service the other week and it got me wondering - will I even need new rotors? I know I should measure them and make sure they’re flat, which I will, but wondering what y’all’s experience has been

Gen 4 2020 if it matters

All this work on 50 just for a useless carpool lane nobody can use

Real great work CalTrans

Every car in that lane has one person in it. That’s the reality. Can’t we build for reality rather than bs idealism?

Truck tool box kit - help a brother out.

Getting my bed cover finally so gonna grab a tote / box to keep my tools in.

My intent is to be able to help myself & stranded folks get back in the road. I’m fairly handy but I think this would mostly be simple things like tire changes, jumps, changing a starter, or other dead simple stuff.

What should I throw in it besides the following?

- 1.5 t low pro aluminum jack
- jump box with inflator
- 1/2 impact with battery & charger
- 1/2 deep impact sockets, breaker bar, ratchet, extensions
- 1/4 sockets & ratchet, extensions
- metric ratchet wrenches
- zip ties
- needle nose pliers
- funnel
- blanket / tarp for working on ground
- electric tape
- gloves
- safety glasses
- flashlights

I have socket sizes pretty well covered but I do have an extra 3/8 deep & shallow set along with extensions / ratchet / breaker bar I can throw in possibly. I just figure between the 1/4 set (maybe meme tool plus some deep sockets) & the impact set I should have most sizes covered.

Wheel chocks maybe? Or just blocks of wood? Change of clothes? Really not sure what else if anything I could want.

Bed toolbox ideas

I’m trying to figure out how to store an aluminum car jack & some roadside repair tools for myself and others.

Anyone have any creative solutions?

I’m trying to avoid getting a bed cover because I use my bed a bit, but I’m on the fence.

With the right bed cover I can just use a big plastic tote. Without, I’d want a lock and to secure the toolbox to the bed which can be done using existing holes in the bed (I think, I need to get under and see how accessible they are from the bottom).

What do you do with your tools?

12v bed mods. Anything creative or unique?

I put in the phone charger and 12v cigarette lighter style chargers, and have 1 pigtail leftover. I was wondering about stuff maybe an RV would use?

Anyone use these for like camp showers with a 12v water pump? Any other cool useful stuff we could power with this bed?

Multi towel wash - ok as alternative to multi mitt?

Are clean microfiber towels ok for using to wash? I was wondering as an alternative to using a bunch of mitts. Using one towel per panel, then just chucking it into a dirty towel bucket.

Or, should I grab some extra mitts when they’re on sale?

As much as two bucket seems like a good idea, I’d rather use something fresh each panel to prevent any damage.

Thank you.

How much sound deadening material should I get?

Doing all of the speakers. My first time doing this so any tips are appreciated.

If anyone can suggest a decent budget option that would be great too.

Speaker systems that sound good without adding an amp? Is it possible?

Love this truck but wow the sound quality is . . . Yeah.

Anyone running anything that doesn’t distort at higher volume? Or should I bite the bullet and add an amp & make things really complicated for myself?

Best prices I’ve seen for the fan and cordless ratchet.

Using the Home Depot buy one get two deal.

Not sure if I’ll keep the ratchet because I like my regular ratchets, but can’t wait to have that fan for camping.

Idk if I’m going with that financing but doesn’t seem like there are any bs fees. Honestly this dealer has been a pleasure to work with. Done everything o we the phone so far.

Any thoughts before i pull the trigger?

I’m a shade tree mechanic for friends family neighbors so I work in a variety. I can’t understand if I’ll want the big bit or if that mid torque will get through stuff like Axel nuts & stuff.
