Anime Adaptation - like Ghibli movies

Starting the series over again - on the Limbeck initial chapters in Dragon Wing and for some reason my mind is now imagining this as a Ghibili style anime movie! Wouldn't that be so cool!?!?! It has just the right whimsy, fantasy and comedy I think it would be a fun fit.

Toy Collecting and Variations on a Theme

My little Pony, Transformers, Rainbow Brite, Care Bears, MUSCLE, He Man, Hot Wheels, Barbie, So many other toy lines from the 80s and late 80s.

These toy lines all feature "variations on a theme" (there's more of course). I think it's safe to say this tactic is from toy companies to save money in toy design by reusing molds and various other manufacturing process to make new versions (new characters) of toys to sell to Gen X. "Gotta collect them all"

HOWEVER, I think psychologically I think there's something in my Gen X brain that just LOVES THIS STUFF. I feel like it's my kryptonite. Any time I see something that's variations on a theme I just gotta have it and get them all - complete set.

Toy companies don't do this any more as far as I can tell. The ones do it are re-issueing retro toys.

If you look at MLP or Transformers today there's like 8 characters they rehash over and over. This makes me think this was a Gen X thing???

So do you think this is unique to Gen X or just exacerbated by toy companies of the time?

Parallel Lines is the a better way

Parallel Lines - is there a better way?

Right now I draw these white and black lines manually. It would be nice if I could draw one path and have Inkscape generate the pair of lines automatically for me. I tried the Offset Path effect but it had two issues - I didn't leave my original path and it seems (?) to only allow keeping the original stroke color - I need the offset one to have its own stroke color. So maybe Offset isn't the right fit? or I missed something?

Any other suggestions from you Inkscape experts? Maybe something with Pattern Along path? where I have two "dots"? one back and one white? Not sure if that is a good idea either.

(sorry for typo in title)

Care Bears BLDR Surprise Bags

Saw and picked up these at kroger stores today. Not really much to "build" just snap the head on the body. (the accessories are built I guess) Very cute designs.

Question About Imported Media - Deleting Cached Files

Have a quick question. I have several mp4 files as my source videos in a CC project. If I overwrite one of them in Windows Explorer in the same folder where I originally imported it from, and keep the same exact file name it doesn't seem to give me the updated mp4 content when I reopen CC.

I've read that it might be because CC stores cached media in "....\AppData\Local\Packages\Clipchamp.Clipchamp_yxz26nhyzhsrt"
If it delete the cached files will CC consistently reload the new mp4s from their original folders? I'm asking before I do it because I don't want to loose any work.
THANKS!

Seize the Night (Chris Snow book 2) Dialog

I'm a big DK fan, but for the first time one of his books is agitating me in a major way.

The major pain for me is the dialog between Chris and Bobby where it's just single word quips back and forth.

"Word"

"Word 2"

"Word 3"

"Word 4!"

Does it keep going like this in this whole Chris Snow series?

Dropoff/Weird Cropping/Shapes in Rendered Output but Not Geometry

I'm making a rough animatic for a client. But when I render I'm getting weird drop offs??? or a weird all in the renders. also a big shape on the flat terrain shows up when it shouldn't? i clicked on every item in my collection and I can't find anything not showing (eye) but rendering (camera). totally lost on this. any help appreciated.

Blue pic with "OK" shows the correct geometry. The others show a blank "wall" and an unexpected flat green shape.

I did have trouble getting the world lighting right (still too blue), maybe I tweaked something I should'nt have?

Straighten Path - Does an Extension Exist for this?

I import shapes into inkscape from other programs. Often the paths are not aligned in the correct rotation. They are off by arbitrary angles, like 174.55 degrees. or 5.23

current process -

I pick two adjacent nodes out of the path that are supposed to be "horizontal" and use Measure to find the angle they are at. Then I do math (outside of Inkscape) to determine the angle I need to use to rotate the whole path to be horizontal. (This is an angle with up to 0.01 precision.) Then select the whole path, and use Transform to rotate the path by the number I computed.

is there an extension out there that would do this for me so I don't have to measure and compute the corrective angles myself?

Just learned the hard way that 0.5" Registration Inset marks are no longer supported. I am truly the only person who ever used this? I've got 200+ files now that I can't cut in SS 5. :\

Downgrading seems to be my only choice - right?
