Best counter service restaurants?

Im in detroit (midtown) for a week for work. What are some good counter service/casual restaurants for dining in for one? I find that when I eat alone at table service restaurants they often forget me (and Im also just not a fan of the feeling of being waited on), so Id like a place where I can just eat good food by myself in peace. Not picky, Ill eat anything. I appreciate any recs.

Places to chill and take cool/scenic pics?

I bailed on Longs this morning after getting a pretty bad blister, so now I have the rest of day to chill. Any places that don’t require much walking (I’ll be in flip flops) that I can go chill and take some good pics (I brought my camera with me but didn’t get any pics this morning since most of it was before sunrise). I’m staying in Estes Park, was thinking of driving the Alpine visitor center after 2 pm, but open to other suggestions

Do you pack out your tooth paste spit?

Hello, I was wondering if you’re supposed to pack out your tooth paste spit when overnight backpacking. Thanks for the help everyone.

America the Beautiful Pass

I bought an America the Beautiful Pass online and was wondering how I was supposed to "activate" it/when it would expire, since there was no specific date (other than the year) on it. After reading online, apparently it's supposed to be punch-holed over the month of purchase.

Did REI forget to do this or am I supposed to this? Or do I just get it punch-holed at the park?

Is this normal?

I ordered the Kakwa 40 10 days ago and got an email confirming shipment. But the USPS page says it's pending acceptance and has been saying that for over a week now. Is this normal or is something wrong and I need to reach out to someone? I was really hoping to get to use it on my upcoming trip in a week :'(

Crestone Needle: South Colony vs Cottonwood Creek

I'm looking to summit Crestone Needle at the end of July. I was wondering if anyone had insight to to the two approaches. Main question is if I "need" to camp for both routes, or is one more feasible as a day hike? And if I do camp, is it normally okay to leave my tent and whatnot behind while I summit?

Edmonton to Dallas

Hello everyone, I am planning a roadtrip from Edmonton to Dallas at the beginning of September. I'll have about three weeks to kill. I'm planning on camping and doing some long day hikes throughout the trip. I'll also be bringing my camera, so hopefully I'll get some create nature/landscape shots.

So far my stops are: ~8 days in Banff, 2 days in Yellowstone, 3 days in the Tetons, 3 days in Rocky Mountain National Park, and 3 days for some 14ers in southern Colorado.

I was wondering if there's any where else I should stop, particularly in New Mexico? Or maybe adding some hikes in the Wind River range (although seems like these would have to be backpacking, not day hikes)?

Any advice appreciated!

Need advice, messed up big time

So I fucked up very bigly.

In short, my paper was recently accepted and is based on a project that involves analyzing a lot of survey data. To streamline the process of coding, I created a dummy dataset that I could run quickly to test my code and make sure everything worked rather than taking time to run the actual dataset every single time when coding.

Well, I realized that the data for one of the tables is based on the dummy data, not that actual data. It wasn't immediately obvious since the table is essentially just odds ratios, so just by looking at the table you can't tell it isn't based on the actual data.

Fortunately, the dummy table is actually pretty similar to the real table and it wouldn't change the paper much. Nonetheless, I assume if I bring this up to my PI, I'll the excommunicated from any future work, so I am pretty scared tell them.

Is there a good way to go about this? Will the journal revoke acceptance if bring up this error? Are there are likely repercussions if I just keep quiet?
