CS-80 chorus/tremolo — does a standalone DIY or commercial clone exist?

The CS-80's chorus/tremolo runs on two MN3005 BBD delay lines mixed differently for stereo, with the tremolo being the same circuit at faster LFO rates. Genuinely unique topology.

Has anyone extracted this into a standalone build? The Deckard's Dream Expander would be the obvious answer but good luck finding one. Generic BBD chorus pedals (Small Clone etc.) don't quite nail it. the dual stereo mixing and the sine LFO behavior feel different.

anyone's published a schematic inspired by the OE2 board, or knows what existing design comes closest??

Module to connect USB MIDI keyboard to DIN MIDI + Program Change

Hi all,

I'm planning a small DIY project and would love some advice before I start ordering parts.
What I want to build:

Receive MIDI from an Arturia MicroLab mk3 (USB-C, class-compliant USB device) — so my microcontroller needs to act as a USB Host

Forward that MIDI out via DIN-5 (TRS/standard MIDI) to a Moog Sirin synthesizer. The Sirin don’t have any screen, so it’s a pita to change program, as you don’t see what you are doing (or you need to use a PC or my Deluge).

Add a rotary encoder + small OLED display to send Program Change messages to the Sirin, so I can select presets from the box itself

Power everything (micro controller, MicroLab via USB-A, MIDI optocoupler) from the Sirin's 12V DC PSU, stepped down to 5V with a small buck converter

It’s probably a bit overkill. I am thinking about using a Raspberry Pico to do it, to get advantage of the USB host function.

Any recommandation? I want it to be as small as possible, without breaking the bank.
How would you proceed ?

Thanks in advance for the feedbacks

Winterhilfswerk Denkmal in Elsass (F) gefunden

Hallo Zusammen

Help me choose a MTB for the 40th birthday of my friend

Hi

My best friend is turning 40. We use to go running and swimming together, and he told me I would like to start MTB with his 6 years old son. I did some MTB myself (I have a Scott Spark and a SC Chameleon).

I would like to offer him a MTB for his birthday. He will mostly use it on forest path and small trails, no DH, no racing, maybe a bit of entry-level XC here in the Alps. Just starting MTB slowly.

I don't think he need a fully, and that will help keeping the costs low: I was thinking buying a hardtail, I have about 700€/$ budget.

I found a used Trek X-Caliber 8 (2019) or a used Scott Scale 950 (2019) in this price range.

Are these good deals? do you have better recommandations?
Thanks!

(in short:

  • The type of riding will you be doing --> casual, riding with kids and friends
  • Where you will be riding --> bike path, forest path, no DH, no racing. Sometime a bit in the mountain (Alps)
  • Your budget (with included currency) --> 700€/800$
  • What you like/didn't like about your current bike --> first bike!
  • Your experience level and future goals. --> no experience, he used to ride a lot with a city bike

Hi

I found a nice CD Player in the bin (it may have been there for a reason).

Model: Creek CD50 mkII CD Player from 2004, apparently something quit audiophile.

What is working:

- Device is starting

- CD-Player tray is working

- Disc is spinning

- After a few seconds, I got a "NO DISC" on the LCD screen

What I tried:

- cleaned the lense with isopropyl alcohol and a tip. That did not help.

- tried to find a trimpot to adjust the current to the lense. Did'nt find any on this device.

Here is a quick video I made:

https://reddit.com/link/1t1mkra/video/z4vn2xqtepyg1/player

You can clearly see the disc spinning, and I "hear" the lense who try to read the content.

I found replacement disc players (DSL-710A) but they are quite expensive (about 120$) I don't now if it's worth the struggle to try to fix it.

What would you do next?

Is there a way to get the name of the card used for every transaction in the statement? (PDF or CSV).

I want to be able to export the list of transactions for a defined card. I mean, I can see the filtered transactions in the app (under Cards), I don’t get why it’s not possible to export this list as a CSV or PDF.
