Would like to become a moderator of this sub. It currently only has one moderator and they have been inactive for over a year. I have a long history on Reddit and am an avid car enthusiast and Macan owner so I think I am fit for the job. Thanks for your consideration.
I’m cross shopping a 2022-2024 X3M40i or X3M with a 2022-2024 Macan S or GTS.
My main concern is maintenance and repair costs of a Porsche vs a BMW. Would love to hear from those of you that service your cars at an Indy (not dealer or DIY) because I’m curious to know how much it costs to run one of these cars from like 50k - 100k miles and if there are any items to watch out for.
If I were to go the Macan route I would skip the air suspension simply because if the compressor were to fail it would cost a small fortune to replace.
The goal here is to make my MagSafe wireless charger in my car compatible with the giant camera bump on my iPhone 17 pro.
The best way I can think to do this is by adding a circular ring that has dual polarity magnets and adhesive on the charger side, not the phone side. Reason being, I want the charger to retain the magnetic ring when the phone is removed, not the opposite. The magnets facing the charger will ensure the adhesive doesn’t weaken over time and guarantee perfect placement of the ring when it is installed.
Do any products like this exist? My homemade solution is not as elegant as I would like.

I live in NoVA and we had a terrible lightning storm Monday night. I believe the house got hit by lightning or that it struck something near by because we lost power and internet for a bit. Once we recovered both the next day I noticed 2 of my Apple TVs are bricked now and won’t stop restarting themselves. The third overheats and shuts off after being on for just a few minutes. Never had any issues with them prior to this. They are all the latest gen Apple TV 4K. I have Apple care plus and will be going to the Apple Store for replacements tmrw. Has anyone ever experienced anything similar? All my other electronics seem to be functioning normally from what I can tell. They were all in different rooms on different breaker circuits and all were plugged into a surge protector. They were all wired up via Ethernet cable.
Is it just me or are used prices for the 718 very high? I’m looking for a base or S in 6MT with ventilated seats, a clean record and reasonable milage but everything I’m seeing is $60k usd and higher. The only cars in the 40-50k range are autos with 100k miles and frame damage. Are these cars really worth it at that price, or should I just go get myself a BMW M2?
The last time I saw a similar thread was 2 years ago and a lot changes in the restaurant industry year to year (new places come up, old places close down, management changes, etc.)
Would like to start an updated “what’s good to eat” thread because I’m tired of eating at the same 3 places all the time.
Looking for both casual spots and nicer places to go on a dinner date. No chains please, I don’t need any help finding those. If it’s a place with several locations that isn’t a major chain that’s fine.
Howdy, I'm a casual gamer looking for some new single player games to buy on Steam.
Would love some recommendations/suggestion based on the following:
Games I've enjoyed: Mass Effect, AOE2DE, Assassins Creed, Hitman, Ghost of Tsushima, RDR2, Last of us, KOTOR, Hogwarts Legacy, Final Fantasy Tactics, Cyberpunk, Sniper Elite.
Games I didn't really enjoy: Death Stranding, Resident Evil, The Witcher, Dark Souls, GTA, 007 First Light, Call of Duty, Wukong, Hades, Subnautica, Fallen Order.
Ever since the newest update WeMod and similar trainers are no longer working with the game (single player). Any work arounds?
I reverted my game to an older patch because the new update broke a bunch of stuff. I can play the historical battles and victors and vanquished just fine but the regular campaigns and DLC aren’t accessible, they just show the William Wallace story anytime I click on one. I have completed the William Wallace story already. I’ve tried different older patch versions and same issue. Anyone know a work around to this aside from updating the game to the newest patch?
Wanted to retrofit F80 tri color comp belts but need to know if they’re PNP.
Just picked a set of rayban meta gen 2 (wayfarer) and my one complaint is that when listening to music there’s like no bass whatsoever. Is this normal, or did I get a dud? Was hoping these would replace my AirPods but the sound quality isn’t even close when listening to music. Phone calls and AI conversations sound fine. I’ve heard the Oakley Vanguard’s sound better but they’re really not my style aesthetically and I don’t think I could wear them day to day.
