if jagex let you pick your starting chunk, and all the rules that the big chuck accounts follow are in play, what would be the best chunk to start?
you would start in that chunk as if you just left tutorial island, have no quests completed, and respawn in that chunk upon death.
open to any other discussions on the topic or rule/condition ideas or things to consider.
7 days i took off to sober up from caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine to start a family and get my health in order. I made it to the 10 day mark and im back on all three and feel so much better. please i need bible quotes. I need something to get me out of this rut. I am a strong man so i thought but this insignificant feelings boost i feel from this like i cant live without. the gamble is a bit complicated.
you are cloned twice and your clones are capable of everything you are. they enter separate simulations.
one is given 1.2 trillion dollars of funds and tasked to gather as many paper clips possible with that amount of spending power. they can make them, buy them, any means of gathering paper clips is allowed.
the other is given 1.199 trillion dollars and given the same task. (one BILLION dollars less)
you are then tasked with betting on if the one given more money will gather at least 0.1% or more paper clips than the other. where do you place your bet?
came here to ask about what I thought was an obvious scam, but maybe is an actual tradition. I’ve been thinking about for over a decade and decided fuck it I’ll ask just in case, and at the very least spread awareness? tldr at the bottom.
I was on a work trip in San Diego and saw all these monks asking for donations in the crowd. Being spiritual myself, I’ve always respected the idea of monks and what they do and didint think much of it. As I wondered the crowded streets site seeing after my shift I saw them all over the place And figured it was a huge charity event or something. inevitably one comes up to me and I was open to chat with them. they didn’t speak much English, but gave me a little shiny golden cardboard token and said they were spreading prayers. I liked this, smiled in return and said thank you. They said for me they have something else and tied a little bracelet around my wrist. honestly this was really sweet and made me feel nice, again I really respect the idea of monks. he then pulls out his “prayer book”.
he then explains he would like to put my name in his prayer book. I say absolutely. he further explains he’s also gathering donations for his temple, and when people write their name in prayer book it’s custom to write down a donation amount. very quickly, he flashes me though the pages of hand written names and specifically points out their donation amounts which suspiciously none were lower than $50. several pages and dozens of names and the MINIUM donation I see written is $50 with it very common to be 100,150,200,500 etc.
I explain to him I don’t have much money but am happy to make a small one time donation. he smiles warmly and hands me the book and a pencil to write my name. I write my name and 5$. I hand the book back and he immediately scorns his face..
no no no not like this he says and points out their other amounts. assuming he meant the donation was too small I tell him I don’t have much money and offer his token and bracelet back. he says no that’s ok but the money sign has to go in front, it’s $5 not 5$. I apologize, weirdly confused on why that mattered at all. I stare at him blankly unsure what he wants me to do about it for a moment. he eventually hand waves it and says no problem and pulls out a phone with a credit card attachment.
This throws me off big time. never did I expect the monk to pull out a fucking credit card machine. I open my wallet and attempt to hand him $5 cash. he refuses, no no no we can only take card, no cash at the temple. I explain this is all I have to give and he looks pissed. frustrated, he puts his card machine away clicks his tongue at me in disappointment and walks away.
I believe the scam here is he was going to write an extra 0 or two in his little book and drain my card, or set up for some auto donation monthly. the part that confuses me the most is he never took my $5 cash, is there ANY chance this was legit?
TLDR: bunch of monks in a tourist donation are having people sign their prayer book for a donation amount, then require you to donate on card, they refuse cash.
