I’m a 22yr full time uni student who still lives at home. I do work but unfortunately they have cut everyone’s hours considerably and I’m having trouble finding another job around uni. I’m currently waiting for my youth allowance claim to be decided as well.
Because all of this I still live at home and my parents do pay for groceries and the bills for the house while I pay for all of my meds, appointments, car etc. I don’t pay board atm due to making $150 a week 😩
Obviously I’m getting massive help from them at the moment so would I be considered supported?
I’ve never claimed before and I’m scared of getting a debt lol

I have kinda fine, wavy/curly (2b-3a??) and it takes forever to dry with a diffuser. I’m new to properly caring and styling my hair since it was just slightly wavy most of my life but a disastrous scalp bleach changed that 😔
I do plop my hair for a bit after adding mousse and gel but it still takes foreverrrr and I’m a night shower gal who likes to be in bed by 9pm so it’s very annoying 🙃

They have a temp casual data entry job available super close to me and since I’m in need of some extra $$$ before uni gets full on I’m considering applying. I’m hesitant since I’ve never applied through a recruiter before and I’m very nervous about being taken for a ride/scammed lol

I’ve tried googling but it seems there are two agencies by the same name and I can only find info on the one for STEM recruiting which this definitely isn’t as it’s just doc scanning and data entry lmao

I’m doing a big clear out of my Vintage Barbies + clothes and other bits but the postage costs are making me pause, especially since the Barbies need to be in boxes not just a satchel.

It was at the very beginning of my first shift so it wasn’t like they thought I was a shit worker or anything 😢

I don’t understand why they would do this? She said it was because of my age (22yrs) but she and the hiring manager knew that! It’s literally on my resume plus me saying it out loud 😔 I’m not even getting weekends like they said I would so my pay is legit $120 a week…

I’m so frustrated… I was at my last job for 3 years and although it was a hella messed up place to work, I was at least getting the hours I’d like (15-20hrs)😩

They even told me to quit my last job immediately since they’ll have me work 30+ hours per week to train me up as a team lead before uni went back, which they never did… the worst part is that they are still actively hiring like wtf??

I’m a casual and everything was verbal so I’m guessing there’s no way to complain?

Currently applying to everything I can but every casual/part-time job is either only offering 5-8hrs per week or want full-time availability 🙃

Essentially the job ad and the recruiter that hired me told me the job was offering 15hrs per week but when I got to my first shift the store manager said she can only give me 5hrs per week because of my age (22yrs). My age was on my resume and on all of my paperwork that I had to submit so it shouldn’t have been a surprise? Im so frustrated as I literally quit my last job specifically for this position since this store is so close to home. It’s a team leader position too so I figured they wanted someone a little older? It’s not because of me or my work because she literally told me within the first 5 mins of meeting her 🙃
It’s a large variety store chain too so I’m sure my details were passed through multiple people so I’m super confused why I was offered the job in the first place? The recruiter even told me they needed me to start asap and that I’d probably work 20+ hours until uni goes back so I can be all trained up but that’s obviously not happening.
It’s a casual position so probably nothing I can do except keep looking but I’m so annoyed. I had to do 3+ hours of “training” at home before my first shift so it’s just a bunch of wasted time.

I seem to bleed toner no matter how hard I try 😩 it’s only been 3 weeks and it just looks sad. My stylist told me to hold off on using purple shampoo/mask since last time it made me very grey??

I’ve been doing a bit of research and found the Revlon Nutri Colour Filter Range and the Wella Shinefinity Glaze range and they both indicate they are good for refreshing/enhancing in between appointments but I don’t want to make my stylist hate me lmao.

I’m a natural level 7 lightened to a level 9 with some level 10 highlights. I’m going for a pearly blonde kinda like the L’Oréal Dia Light 9.21 (very light iridescent ash blonde milkshake). I’m a little brassy atm mostly yellow/gold tones but I would love to be able to cool it a little while also making my hair less dull!!

I currently see her every 10-12 weeks which is honestly my limit cost and time wise so if there is something that’s relatively easy and temporary I could do at home, that would be amazing!

I did try to ask her advice but she’s very anti-diy so I wasn’t getting anywhere but I really can’t afford or make time to go in every 4 weeks 😩

I wash with cold-to-lukewarm water and I diffuse on low heat so I think it’s the hard water???

My Mecca Max and Real Technique Brushes are starting to shed and need replacing but I’m unsure if it’s worth investing in the more expensive brands!

I would need both face and eye brushes so not sure if it would be more economical to just buy a set or buy individually from multiple brands?

I’ve been at my current retail job for 2.5 years now and while it’s good pay, they refuse to staff the store properly and will only have one of us on at a time in 4-5hr shifts so only two people are rostered per day which includes the manager… the managers are the only ones on contract and are incredibly petty, so every few months they’ll cut everyone down to like 10hrs a week and hires someone new. It’ll “correct” itself after a month or two when either the new hire leaves or one of the original staff gets the shits and leaves.

I’m still at uni and it’s a higher paying retail job at $32 so I’m reluctant to leave as I’ve heard even with experience retail jobs are a nightmare and hours are all over the place. Can’t seem to find any offering part-time contracts that would work with uni either as they seem to also be asking for full availability.

Essentially, I’d like another retail job that I could be rostered on for 5-8hrs a week at but with the option of covering other peoples shifts if I’m available. Just so I have something to bulk up my savings and have something extra to fall back on when management at first job has a tantrum.

I was always told it was a thing that people would pick up a random job for 1 day a week to make extra money but all the jobs require full availability?

Are there any jobs that a uni student who is on campus 3-4 days a week could do that has some legitimate shift stability? It’s really frustrating and hard to plan for expenses when pay can fluctuate so much even though I’m available and willing to work.

I did ask about the conversion to part time but because my hours have fluctuated so much (due to no fault of my own) they would only offer me a 5-8hr contract..

Maybe retail isn’t it? I don’t think I’m capable of proper manual labour type jobs since loading and unboxing stock is as physical as I can probably get haha. I’m studying Justice so most jobs that are adjacent are volunteer which doesn’t pay the bills unfortunately!

I remember back in high school there were vouchers that waived the fee, are there anything like that available for older students?

Technically I could swing it but $120 is a lot that I could spend on petrol or food lol
