Benitez - September - Neon Sorbet Granja Paraiso 92

Hey - first time trying this. Ran it as pour over and just now latte.

I prefer it as latte. I think it’s nice.

But there’s a weird smell, taste and texture which I’m not sure about. Tbh it reminds me a bit of B&W summer slush which had some lychee coferment…

Thoughts?

Previously enjoyed lasso Perc, Moonwake Vergara.

Ok this is nice - JHOAN VERGARA LAS FLORES

I was sad I had finished Lasso Ombligon.

But wow this is equally nice.

Just did a 15g dose bloom 2 pour to 250 in a B75. Lowish ppm guess ~75

Nice juicy cup sweet orangey.

Already out of stock lol

On to the next find; feel free to shoot suggestions for similar.

Potosi Tres Dragones - Bluebird

Just getting into this bag. Bought for espresso and it makes some great ones - that work as lattes.

Did the CC switch recipe this morning.

What a lovely cup. Had a few CGLE bangers lately - Manhattan and now Bluebird.

Boozy (less than as espresso) so it’s gentle, chocolatey (surprised it’s not a note over… funky), the dark cherry like notes are there with the fermentation.

Roasted 24/07

Water is a mix - TPPM ~ 75

What a lovely cup to start the day - and I generally prefer a latte in the morning but this is a banger.

Similar to Lasso Ombligon?

Based in the UK. Been enjoying Perc Lasso Ombligon decaf.

Can’t seem to find it anywhere again. Anything similar you recommend?

Lassos was so easy to dial in. So nice. Not over powering, just lovely taste.

You weren’t kidding about the water - 0 water + TWW

So ever since I’ve started pour over I’d see a post about water being a key variable to change and improve coming up every now and then. Making it like a huge deal.

It’s just painful - due to counter / fridge space, having integrated fridge pitcher already etc. So I’ve avoided for 6 months. Did a mix of either brita water or Volvic for a while.

Finally moved to making my water. Still not perfect and basic: zero water + TWW light profile. Right now 90ppm.

But wow. What a difference it makes! I’ve had a crazy good lasso decaf, and milky cake much less muted! Milky cake while nice was always muted as filter for me, v good as espresso but just good/ok as filter. I’ve had a much better cup just now of milky cake. Both cups were so balanced, nice sweetness. The Lasso one was outstanding, best cup ever for me - it was good before! But wow the taste so so much better, the balance incredible, the notes insanely good (i know it may be infused - it’s the ombligon decaf one) perfect with new water.

So I guess, thanks all. I know still a lot to learn. And at some point upgrade K6, almost regret buying it, + eventually move to lotus drops I guess…
