Night Shift Advice

Hi! I was finally hired at my local hospital as a PCA!! The shift is 10:30 pm - 7 am. It’s on an ortho / med surg floor. Patient load is anywhere from 18-23, with 1-2 other PCAs. It is a low acuity, community hospital. Iam not a night person but I am an early morning bird. Any advice on how to handle the transition?

Work schedule will be
Week 1: Saturday + Sundays + one rotating week day
Week 2: two rotating week days

Class schedule
- Monday: clinical 8 am - 1 pm
-Tuesday: lecture 2-4pm
-Wednesday: lecture 8 am - 11 am
-Thursday: lecture 9 am - 12 pm
-Friday: clinical 7 am - 1 pm

I did mention I can’t work Thursday nights because of clinicals and they were okay with that. Just feel like I’m setting myself up to burn out 😭 it’s only three months of this then my schedule of classes will change again in January

Party girl x body guards?

Looking for someone who is a bit of a troublemaker and somehow needs body guards for protection. She doesn’t want them and makes it hard for them to their job. Anything like that? I’m in of a good forced proximity recommendation

Scared to find a job?

I’m in ADN program right now, two semesters left. I’m scared I won’t be able to find a job once I graduate since this is a second career for me and I’ve been working part time in unrelated areas as I manage my clinicals and lectures. It’s been incredibly difficult finding a hospital care job and the ones I do find are all nights which end when my clinicals begin. I would take med surg, I actually really like it as an area since it’s something different each day. I’m also interested in ortho, peds, or, or er

I’m also in NY, which everyone says is difficult to be hired with an ADN in. I’m in the Hudson valley if that makes a difference. Just looking for guidance on how fucked I am finding a job with no experience.

Night Shift and Morning classes

Nursing is a second career for me and I’m about to start my second semester of an ADN program. All summer I’ve been trying to find a hospital job to gain extra experience as I’m worried my lack of experience will make it hard for me to find something after graduation. Ideally I’d like to work in OR or L&D. I live in a very competitive area that makes it hard for ADNs to get hired compared to BSNs.

After months of applying I finally have an interview with a nurse manager for a night shift PCA position that’s part time. The shift would be 10:30 pm - 7 am. It’s a part time position and would be 2 shifts one week and 3 the following week, alternating weekends.I don’t live more than twenty minutes away and my campus for classes is the same distance. The pay is $24/hr which is more than I’m making at my summer job right now (minimum wage in my area is $16.50) thankfully my husband is able to cover most expenses while I transition, but the extra income would help ease some financial stresses.

Here’s the problem, I made my schedule for this upcoming semester 5 days a week so that my lectures and clinicals would be spaced out. My earliest clinical/lecture starts at 8 am and my latest lecture would end at 1 pm. I would also have to miss a week of clinicals and lecture for mandatory training if I get the position. This would be the third week of classes/clinicals. My program lets you miss one clinical and they have weekend clinicals I could make the hours up at since the training is M-F for one week.

I know I’m getting ahead of myself and I don’t have the job yet, but I’m Looking for advice if you think I should continue with the interview or I’d be insane to take this on.

What to wear with the ivory Cupid top?

I love the ivory Cupid dress, so much so I’m looking at buying it for my elopement. However, I don’t love that it’s midi. I wish it was just three or four inches longer. Does anyone have a recommendation for a skirt or dress that would pair well with this? I’ve never purchased anything from selkie before. I don’t want something too poofy either. TYIA

Gossip Girl /Socialite FMCs?

I’m recovering from a horrible stomach bug and during that time I started rewatching gossip girl. Any recommendations for something similar if it exists? Closest I can think of would be the slate city series?

Doesn’t need to be OV and I’m fine with MM or FF if the focus is still on the FMC. Thanks!

Monster Romance Recs

Hi! Looking for something that would meet this criteria:

• FMC is new to the world of paranormal / monsters and is initially human (doesn’t have to stay human)
• there’s either a secret city, new world or it’s just the way society is
• spice is well written, preferably on the kinky side or at least a group scene

I have read the female and the monstrous World Series which I really liked

Help deciding which is best for me?

Hi, nursing student here looking to get the best product to help me on my journey. Currently overwhelmed with what’s out there. Had a demo for remarkable pro paper and quite liked it but didn’t love the price. Considering a boox note 5c, but also just learned of super note. I don’t think kindle scribe will handle the amount of notes I need.

Hard Requirements:

  1. best for handwriting detection/accuracy -> this is the reason I returned my iPad as I found it wasn’t picking up what I was writing well

  2. ability to sync notes to Google Docs/ one drive

  3. best for annotating pdfs

  4. reading e textbooks / annotating them (if possible)

Soft requirements

  1. preferably under $600 (looking at you remarkable paper pro for $800)

  2. color -> if black and white is highly detailed I would be okay without color

  3. front light -> library at my school doesn’t always have the best lighting

Which would you recommend?

ISO Photographer / Planner - Acadia National Park

Hi, my fiancé and I decided to cancel our traditional wedding, and will be eloping just the two of us. We would like to do this in Acacia National Park. We are having trouble finding photographers / planners that are still available as this is a late switch on our end. Our date range is any time in June 2027. We’d like to spend less than 10K total if possible. TYSM

Good for nursing students?

Wondering how this is at annotating PowerPoints or Google documents. Last semester I typed all my notes then hand wrote them but I’m wondering if this would be a better alternative. I had an iPad in the past but wasn’t a fan of its note taking ability. Thoughts?

Unsure which version is the best, I’m concerned about the lack of light but also like that it won’t strain my eyes as much.

Edit: is it possible to read textbooks on it? Anyone know how it compares to kindle scribe?

How does the game hold up?

Hi, I played this game during early access and a couple of months after its official release. I really liked the premise of it but found it super buggy at the time and that ruined it for me. Is it any better? Also, does the story run out fast or do you find it paced well? I’m on summer vacation and want to give this a go again since it’s been on my list

Hi, it’s me again. Looking for reqs!

I am currently vacation between semesters for a couple of weeks and am currently bored out of my mind. Looking to read and relax mainly so I’m looking for any recommendations!! My biggest desire is good writing I feel like I’ve DNF’d a lot recently.

I enjoy a lot: paranormal, OV, contemporary, fantasy, sci-fi. Okay with or without MM. I’m okay with/without pregnancy if it’s realistic and again written well (I love Jillian west but I don’t like her pregnancy books). I don’t love OW or third act breakups but I’m okay if it’s written well. I can’t stand a miscommunication trope. I’m in my late 20’s and don’t really want to read about high school age people anymore. I could be okay with an academy or college setting though.

Authors I’ve enjoyed: Devyn Sinclair, Marie Mackay, Harley Laroux, Ali Hazelwood & Eliani Lee.

Reqs similar to the monstrous World Series?

Hi! I recently read this series and absolutely adored it, especially how unique some of the characters were. Are there any other hidden world paranormal / supernatural city books that involve a harem? Doesn’t have to be OV but a bonus if it is. Same if it’s kinky. Okay if there’s MM or FF too.
