If you’re not gonna pass me, get off my ass!

I’m so tired of going above the speed limit, and still having people drive (unsafely) close behind me. Through my town is 25 mph, and heavily watched by cops. I’m usually going over 30 mph through residential neighborhoods, which is risky in itself as I pass 2-5 cops on most of my outings. It shocks me how often I have people driving so close behind me that I genuinely fear every time I have to slow down. And when I get to the passing zone, they never actually want to pass. I know some people just follow close behind, and usually I don’t mind but it gets to a point where you’re just a bad driver for even risking being that close. I don’t care about getting passed regardless of how fast i’m going, but just actually do it please. You’re gonna get there at the same time whether you’re on my bumper or not. I often times make it as easy as possible for them to pass when legal, because I genuinely don’t mind.

It says there’s a sent message to an account, but nothing when I tap the chat

It says their name and “sent yesterday” but I’m not in contact with this person and did not send anything. any idea what’s causing this, i’m worried I accidentally sent something but i’m pretty sure it would show

How do you approach men in public?

I’m 18F and I lost a lot of weight this past year, I look a lot different than I did before. And with this I’ve noticed that when I’m out (running errands) I get looks from men who seem interested. It usually never goes past a double glance or being extra polite, and I understand that most men don’t randomly approach. I want to do everything possible to seem open and receptive, and maybe initiate conversations myself. I struggle with being a bit shy and think this could be good for me, but I just don’t know how to start. I’m usually in a grocery store or some place similar, and I just never know what to say. I’d like to say something that opens up conversation, but isn’t so direct that they feel uncomfortable. Look wise I’ve been told I seem friendly so I don’t think that will be an issue, I’m just not sure how to further pursue conversation.

(f18) skip most the small talk and be friends with me?

i’m f18 and i’ve been trying to find friends, but I haven’t clicked with anyone. I find it hard to get to know people past small talk, and then the conversation just fades. im an open book and ready to find a friend that I can immediately be authentic with, even if it’s weird/embarrassing. i’m a yapper, over sharer and i’d also love to hear the details about someone else life. i’m also pretty active online (all apps basically) and it’d be fun to have someone to send funny stuff I see to. i have a lot of different hobbies and also would be down to try other peoples. i really want to get the ball rolling with understanding you and your life, but if a topic you don’t wanna talk about gets brought up just let me know! please comment with your gender, age and some things about you. also please be near my age (16-25)

Some subreddits are completely ruined by their mods

I totally understand the purpose, even for some rules that may seem a little extra. But there’s several subs that are just impossible to post in, and they would probably have much more success if they let people. I just tried to post in a sub for asking women questions, and it got taken down twice. First because I used the word “Men” and they told me I was being unnecessarily uninclusive. I was annoyed because other posts used that word, but decided to just reword it to “partner” and try again. My question was “How often do you expect your partner to see you?”. It got taken down again because it’s been posted recently, when I searched for it the only posts that asked exactly what I did were 4 and 9 years old. I figured that was plenty old enough, so I sent a proper mod mail just asking why. I got an annoyed response back to try “checking the search next time”. So I did AGAIN, there were similar-ish questions that weren’t the same but nothing recent that was what I asked. I don’t understand why it’s such a big deal, even if it’s been several months since somebody asked why does it really matter? And getting immediately pissed at someone for asking why something removed is a bit much. I posted the same question but vice versa in a Men’s subreddit, and it’s been actually interesting to read reply’s. Sorry for the rant, just new to reddit and shocked at the difference in subreddits. There’s definitely some good ones, shoutout to all fair mods out there

hii! f18 looking for new friends

I apologize in advance but I’m a little picky with what im looking for! I’m a big talker and definitely need someone who isn’t bothered by that. I want genuine close friends, so please don’t reach out if you’re not wanting more than a chat. I’m online a decent amount and have most socials i’m willing to share after further talking. I like art, thrifting, music (all kinds), pokemon cards, makeup/fashion and lots more. I love deep chats but also like to joke around a lot. Please introduce yourself with your age and an hobbies/interests!

F18 just failed my driving test, nothing to live for anymore

I’m 18 and grew up in controlling/neglectful household. In my freshman year I finished with a 3.9 gpa, and had kept up good grades since I could remember. My parents moved me 5 hours away, I lost all family and friends and no matter how hard I tried they never enrolled me back in school or my drivers ed program. Years of being locked inside, alcoholic parents with a mom who’s mentally ill and abusive. Constantly being morally degraded and insulted, along with losing the one thing I always strived for. Today I went in for my driving test after passing my written and I failed by 3 points. It took everything in me to not breakdown crying when she told me. I need this so bad, I won’t survive much longer being in my house with no freedom. When I got home I spiraled and just couldn’t take it anymore, I hate everything about myself and hate myself for being a failure. I rescheduled my test for this evening but i’m in such a deep depression I can’t even imagine getting back in car, especially if I just fail again. I can’t vent about things because i’m ashamed I haven’t finished school, and I know the assumptions people make when someone drops out. I don’t even know why i’m posting this, I want someone to tell me that everything’s okay but I don’t even believe it myself.

AITB for not responding to my friend’s text after she cancelled like this?

My friend lives 4 hours away, we haven’t seen each other in over a year. About a week ago she said her dad would drive her over (she doesn’t have a license), but it didn’t end up happening. I’ve also been helping her through a breakup the last couple weeks, they had a toxic relationship and were always cheating/fighting. He was really awful and encouraged the worst out of her.
She texted last night asking if she could come by, because she was in the area. I assumed it was her dad taking her since that was the plan last time, and was super excited to see her. The next day I asked when she was heading over and she said “I don’t know it depends when B wakes up” (B is her bf). I asked “he’s taking you??” and she tried to tell me that she just forgot to tell me, which I don’t believe.
I texted all day and barely heard back and was able to communicate plans with her. I texted again around 5:00 after not hearing back, and almost an hour later she replied saying “nah not tonight everybody wanna chill”. Like, that would’ve been great to know before I cancelled all my plans and waited all day? Her boyfriend wouldn’t even let her spend time with me last time I visited, so I can’t say i’m really surprised it didn’t go through but it also seems very willing on her part.
Since then she’s sent 22 texts about how he’s still treating her bad, and tried calling 3 times. I haven’t even replied to what she’s said, i’m not sure what she expected to happen with him. I know it’s hard to leave, but she was genuinely getting to a good spot and does these things to “spice up the plot” as she says. But I can’t even vent to her about anything in my life so i’m done hearing about the same guy. Am I wrong for this though

Another girl told my boyfriend to tell me I suck. [18F] and [20M] in a relationship for 7 months.

My boyfriend got us tickets to see a movie with his family late at night because they were ordering them last minute, his brother wanted to see it. It was too late to check with me and he figured it's easy to refund my ticket if I can't make it. I've had a super busy week and had a friend possibly stopping by in town, we still hung out at my house for a few hours but I didn't wanna be gone for the length of the movie. I told him this early in the morning so he still had all day to be able to cancel it, he cancels our plans frequently so I didn't think it was a big deal (especially because we didn’t mutually decide to go see it). He cancelled my ticket when he got there and then I got this text: “The girl at the counter that I talked to to cancel your ticket told me to tell the person that canceled on me sucks😭". It's obvious to me she was flirting (most of the girls working there near our age) and my boyfriend is attractive. Am I wrong for being a little upset that he entertained it enough to tell me in an amused way? I don't think i'd find it very funny for another guy to tell me to tell my boyfriend he sucks, and I definitely wouldn't agree to it. I always defend him in every scenario. Later on he said: “My mom said to me "are you going to tell (my name) what the girl said"😭😭😭” So it makes me feel even worse than she was talking bad about me in front of his mom.
