Hey friends.

Just wanted to share my experience as I'm getting more comfortable commuting on the freeway. (I'm an ED nurse in SF that lives in the East Bay* ((*IYKYK)) with 12hr shifts.)

This is my latest setup:

2023 Yamaha R3 (Used off FB with 87xx miles, mods and fresh tires)

Used in Excellent condition Teknic Motorcycle Gear Women's leather suit.

Sedici Strada 3 Pink Squidly with off brand photochromatic visor and Pinlock.

Nelson Rigg Commuter Sport - for lunch, work shoes, uniform, etc.

Alpinestar Tech 5 Plasma airbag - before this I was wearing a backpack instead of the tail bag. The more I ride on the freeway, the more I see the need for this thing.

Definitely my fault. I'm not great with tools but I was trying.

So how much should I expect to have this fixed and can I ride to the shop at least?

My first "big bike". I started about 10 years ago on a 50cc Zuma, went to a Z125, now I'm planning on commuting (mostly highway, some city 30+ miles one way) with this new to me 2023 R3.

Bought off FB marketplace.

87xx mi, SC slip on exhaust, shorty levers (💅🏽), new Micheline 6 tires, aftermarket mirrors, tail tidy, and a cup holder. It's loud - sorry not sorry neighbors. I won't be a dickette, I swear.

I fuggin love it. Taking an intermediate riding course tomorrow because I haven't ridden since i sold my z125 and moved out of the city so I'm a little nervous about freeway riding. I have an armoured jacket and pants, gloves, helmet, and am working on getting some boots.
