Resharpening gec 21

Used my 21 pretty heavily put some nicks in the blade so I re-sharpened it. 16.5° d gas my finishing Stone was a 2/1 micron 15,000 grit PD tools resin bonded diamond and my finishing strop was a 0.5 micron hapstone diamond emulsion on kangaroo. It didn't come out as polished as I was hoping I think there may have been a little contamination on my finishing Stone but it's still very reflective and you can see yourself in it there's just more striations than I would have liked.

Gec 440c is actually really good

This is a great East cutlery to acorns 86 with 440 and I just put a fresh 17.5° DPS edge and it's surprisingly good.

Today's carry

Jack Wolf lil. This is actually my first knife in s90v and I just did a little testaroony and sliced up a box, about 150 cuts, and although it started as a hair whittling edge I was still able to easily shave hair on my arm afterwards which is actually pretty impressive.

Sharpening question?

Most people consider sharpening a knife to lower the value right? Whenever people are buying collectible knives like a lot of the gec on the secondary market one of the main things is it's never been sharpened or has it been sharpened or the amount of times it's been sharpened and so I have a question : if there's a collectible knife would it lower the value if it had been professionally sharpened once just to put a beautiful polished edge on the knife for obviously the sharpness but also the aesthetic beauty of having a polished edge on a collectible knife? What are y'all think does a one-time professional sharpening ruin the value of a collectible or keep it the same or raise the value?

Jack Wolf?

Can I ask a question, what is the traditional community think about Jack Wolf knives? I know that they're good knives but I've heard some people say they don't like them because they're modern traditional and I'm curious what y'all think. I have 2 and I think they're fantastic but I also have 10 or 12 gec and various other slip joint traditionals. Is there something wrong with Jack Wolf I don't understand?

Sharpshooter Jack sharpening

This is the original sharpshooter Jack from their first drop in m390.

Finished on a 7/5 micron Orion Stone and stropped with one micron on kangaroo leather and 0.5 micron on kangaroo leather. With this super Hollow grind and the 17° angle this is crazy slicy Sharp

Does anyone know how I can fix this? I literally got it today and it dropped and I just feel like crying. Usps lost a 21 and a 77 and this happens today and I'm just parking so upset. If anyone knows how I can get this fixed I would really appreciate it. Thank you

Gec 14 question

I just got in a GEC 14 Barlow goldenrod saw cut and it feels like the pull is super weak. It sounds like it has walk and talk but I have another 14 it was a blade HQ exclusive with micarta covers and no sheild and the pull is nice and stiff it's fantastic and I'm wondering how light is to light? I read somewhere that the 14 is known for having a very weak pull because it's supposed to be a boys knife and so it's not supposed to be like a stiff opening knife but it just seems weak to me it still has snap when it opens and closes but when it's open and I push on it with my thumb it just moves so easily and I don't know if I'm just being picky or if that's common or what I should do. Can y'all let me know your experience with the 14 Barlow and specifically the Golden rod sawcut and if it's common and I just need to get over it or if I should send it into gec or something. Thank you

Hipster?

Am I turning into a hipster? I've always kind of hated hipsters because well they're lame but I just realized I just bought a pair of Birkenstocks because they look so comfortable and they're going to be like my house shoe and I took off my Red Wing Pecos 1155 and I'm wearing my iron heart 888-21oz SBG with my brave star Glory shirt and my Chris reeve pocket knife. I don't wear a fedora I've always picked what I wear based off of function because I think the jeans are so much tougher than Levi's which tend to only last me like 6 months to a year depending on what I'm doing and I'm where is the heavyweight denim has lasted me multiple years the brave star shirt is thick and durable the Red Wing boots are just dope but they're also good boots that can be resold but does that make me a hipster or someone that just wears clothes that are good?
