Getting paid for travel thru VES…it’s been over a month

I’ve traveled to a bunch of C&P exams thru ves in support of my BDD claim. One of the doctors said to expect a check in the mail in 10-14 days.

It’s been 5 weeks since my last exam. I’ll call them tomorrow-just curious if this is normal.

Las sendas HOA-parking in driveway

Looking to rent in las sendas for a bit before buying, but one thing gave me pause, which is the HOA states:

Garages must be used for motor vehicles before anything else. Large trucks are an exception and can be parked in the driveway.

The place we’re looking at is a 2 car garage and we have two cars. But las sendas homes seem to lack storage quite a bit, so we’d like to use half the garage for storage and just keep my car parked in the driveway.

Will they fine me for this or is it generally ok?

Upgrade tires from schwalbe pro ones? Is it worth it?

Casual recreational rider here, not racing anyone.

Currently running Schwalbe Pro One 700x30 tube-type on my Canyon Endurace and switching to Pirelli P Zero Race RS in the same size.

Mostly riding dry Arizona roads.

Will I actually notice a difference between the two, or is it more of a wash at my level?

I’m not looking to upgrade my wheelset anytime soon -still rocking the stock aluminum DT wheelset that came with it.

My examiner requested an X-ray during my C&P exam and I did it. Do I need to do anything else?

During my C&P exam for my BDD claim, I showed my limited ROM on my shoulder. The examiner pressed on my shoulder and said he wanted an xray because at the moment he could only document strain.

So he ordered it through VES and I went and got it done. I got a MyChart update saying it had been done and the xray showed arthritis.

Should this show up in my Va claim under files? How do I ensure it gets to VES and the examiner to complete my DBQ’s?

Insurance options for family after retirement

I’m retiring after 20 years this August and trying to make sense of the insurance.

For reference, I have a spouse and 2 young kids.

Most of my career, they’ve been on Tricare prime select so they could choose different doctors compared to the military base doctors. We’ve paid fedVIP for some dental and vision, but my kids are under 7 so haven’t needed vision and my wife does it for contacts once a year.

Now that I’m retiring, I think they can still opt in to select, right? If we went with normal Prime, would they still need to go to a military doc first for referrals?

Also-how does vision/dental work for retirees and their family?

I’m guessing I should land around 50-80% disability if that makes any difference for this, and I’ll be getting another job. However, I’m not sure if it may be worth getting insurance from my new employer or not. HSA’s and all that stuff-more things they didn’t really cover in TAPS.

Any advice?

CPE’s while driving cross country?

I’m driving cross country next week and figured I can work on some cpe…promise not to do it at night when I’m fatigued!

Any recommendations? I do earmark but only once a week for free, but I don’t mind paying a fee if I need
It to get through this week.

Retiring from the military this summer after 20 years. Lots of moving parts — SBP election, TRICARE transition, VA claim, TSP rollover, housing budget, SS timing, life insurance gaps.

I want to do a one-time engagement with a flat-fee or hourly CFP who knows military benefits — not an ongoing advisory relationship. What should I expect to pay for something like this?
