[question]how do I disable work profile system notifications? I'm getting duplicate battery notifications
just that, and any other system messages, always pop up for both profiles
appears to be from the security app (work profile copy), which has notifications set forced on, you cant turn them off
How can I get debian in virtualbox on a debian host running as slick as windows on a debian host?
doing the xfce de, x11 on guest and host, and somehow it's still laggy, just doing simple 1-2 tab ff browsing with 2-4gb ram, (and will always freeze up the system if I do too many tabs) yes guest extensions are installed, system is perfectly capable of handling multiple VMs, but debian guest is just awful compared to windows which is buttery smooth with graphics, and this is all just using onboard on a laptop. not sure if doing prime offload rendering would help on that
what happened to the-eye.eu, they said they'd fix the hard drive issue a year ago. Any backups?
site has absolutely nothing now. I wanted to get the pile or any other decent book collections and whatever else.
[Question] 3.0.302 has this weird glitch where the screen gets stuck at 0%
completely F'd over my day.. twice, and there's absolutely no way to get it back without using adb scrcpy to see anything to enter my pin and then guess where the brightness slider is when it logs in again.
I hope this new update fixes that, but it looks more like it's just security

[question] why do 'locked' pinned? apps never stay open?
I hit the lock to pin my damn alarm clock open, I've tried many, need one with multiple timers..and they always never wake the phone, it ends up firing when I unlock the screen, every time.
Now a new issue, when I'm playing some music from the lock screen, any time I pause it for more than like a minute or few, it closes and will no longer respond to my headset or show on lock screen.,.
yes, battery optimizations are off, allow on lockscreen is set, and autostart is set, battery saver is never on

IdeaPad slim x pro 5 randomly powered on and if I enter bios I see this, boots fine, but there's definitely something wrong
is it normal to get yelled at for every little mistake?
even like, dropping something, any accident. To this day as an adult, any loud noise still makes me jump
Ideapad 7 something; overheats on bios or luks2 login screen, debian, fedora, arch, etc.
why does this happen? for years, various bios updates. fan will go to max if it sits on the bios screen, and the temp will run up beyond burning your lap.
in os, any kernel below 6.17 will also have issues with fan regulation and overheating.
whats a good budget area, now, for hiking, to stay a month?
Not feeling touristy, just working on self. Mountainous areas would be best to go asap, more ideally near osaka, but open other areas. looking for that nice 20c weather, I dont mind rain, as long as I can get out every day at some point, and I certainly want to get away from tourist hotspots, really dont like crowds in kyoto, osaka, etc.
cutting everyone's pay by 50% is bullshit, they know they fucked up...they just posted an open job for 'pay and safety'
'at will employment'
dont work for them, they'll fuck you over asap
is there any way to get an timer app to actually..time?
lock pinning thing, optimization disabled, everything disabled..still..doesnt ring until i turn on the phone..xiaomi 17
No one ever talks about the impossibility of returning to the US when you've been out too long
I'm not talking about reverse culture shock either, but when you've been gone so long you no longer have a residence, family, friends, rental history. It makes going back nearly impossible.
If you're living abroad on lesser income, which is sustainable abroad, but not in the US, and you have no rental history, your only real options are airbnb or hotels, in an airport city. Your burn rate will be extremely high, isolated, no social support, no medical care...all the things that require an address no longer are obtainable, especially with an expired license as well.
I always find it ridiculous when seeking support while abroad, and everyone's first answer on here is 'go home', when it really is not feasible, and sets you back even farther.
been here for a few weeks, got sick, now just dragging on with zero motivation and alone
'go home', I dont have a home anymore. That's what happens when you become a nomad.
Seems I'm still sick, like a lingering flu, (could also just be a bad AC unit). I wanted to hike in kyoto, but I just mostly spend my time in bed. I got it when I tried a hostel during golden week, worst sleep of my life.
Travel as a coping mechanism for poor social abilities isn't working. How can I actually befriend people here?
I do like japan much more than most countries I've been, simply because it's more introvert friendly and quieter. But hotel costs are adding up (wtf is up with 1-2 days on the weekend jumping up 2-5x the price), and I'd like to minimize that as well... and actually utilize my IT/EE/CS degrees, gone a long time without finding decent work. Just do AI training gigs.
I'm too old for any sort of working holiday visa, my Japanese is a bit rusty, studied it many years ago, and by far it's the easiest asian language I can pronounce as I have also studied spanish.
trying to keep accommodation under 4k a night. Kinda bored of osaka now, eating too much, need more exercise, hiking, nature..something, maybe socialization, I dont drink.
they really narrowed that task window to just 5 hours, it used to be from like 8pm through the next day
specifically alarms. with hyperos 3
they'll ring, but wont display, even with all settings change, like optimizations and permissions, and overlay. but even when unlocking the phone, such alarm clock app wont even show up, you have to re-open it.
specifically this is com.best.deskclock but I doubt that matters
The app is supposed to detect camera motion, it can also detection phone motion and sound, but the key point was camera motion, and then record it, as well as send an alert via signal.
Haven has been broken for a long time, app crashes all the time, sensitivity doesnt work, and now doesnt appear to even record video.
