What's this browser doing inside my 4KVD+ app? I can't get rid of it.
How do I make it go away? I have no idea why it's showing vimeo. To make sure that never happens again I added 127.0.0.1 vimeo.com to my hosts file.

As Puke introduces his kids to the gang, around 5:48 Gus asks "you seem fairly normal, have you got mental problems, or?" and one of them answers "no, fairly normal".
It sounds very much like Karl. But from only 3 words, it's not clear.
I had the left third of my Cursor layout set to show search, github, file explorer.
The middle third was open files.
The final third (secondary side bar) has two tabs, one for regular AI agents, and one for Claude Code but it won't show me the chat session in there. If I choose New session or re-open one from the list of previous sessions it opens it in the centre, along with the open files.
It took me close to an hour just to get as far as this. I couldn't get Claude Code to live in the secondary side bar without much playing around in the settings and restarts.
I wish the updates would just fix the bugs it needs to, add the features it needs to, but leave layout alone. I've wasted an hour now trying to get it back how it was. I hadn't updated the Claude Code extension, it was a Cursor update that broke things.
I currently can't look at the Claude Code chat and a source file that it may have just changed at the same time unless I have it in the primary side bar.
I received an email today on my main gmail account that was auto-forwarded from a secondary gmail account I opened years ago. The only two things I know are (a) the secondary email address, (b) that it's set to auto-forward to my main account.
I tried logging in and it asked for the password. It's been so long since I opened it that I have no idea what the password is, and more importantly, "the last known password I remember".
After clicking on "Try another way" it just says I'm outta luck, there are no other options.
Even though I've got that auto-forwarded account set up, I don't know if it's set as a recovery account.
Am I screwed? I think I am. I guess it's not that important, I can still technically use it because I can "send as" from my primary account and any responses would be auto-forwarded.
I just felt like I'd login and see what's up in there.
I couldn't post the text (Post button greyed out) so had to take a screenshot of it.
I suggest filtering out emoji's or anything that's not regular characters before writing to the final output file. Here's one such emoji 😝
If you have the "Ask before displaying external images" set to not show, you'll see a show images button on emails in your Inbox. You might think that's protecting you from image requests going to a server identifying that your email address exists. As far as your Inbox goes, that's true.
BUT, in the spam folder, Google are auto-downloading the images for you server-side. They're doing it so they can scan for viruses and other stuff. If you open an email in the spam folder, despite having "Ask before displaying external images" set to not show, you'll see the images in the mail. OK, there's no risk of the image being malware, but they have still requested it with probably some unique identifying query string that indicates your email address is valid and you saw their image(s). That'll move you in the spammers spreadsheet from Unverified to Confirmed-Email-address and someone-that-opens-spam.
I think if you have "Ask before displaying external images" set to not show, they shouldn't do that. Even if you have it set to show they shouldn't be doing that for spam emails.
Why did I open a spam message and discover this you might ask (this is Reddit, so you will ask)... I wanted to look for keywords to add to my filter that deletes spam before it even gets to the spam folder.
I can't login because of this.
I figure if they won't allow me to login, then the least I can do is delete the account but that seems impossible without logging in. But I read somewhere that "Disabled accounts are automatically deleted after 6 months to 1 year".
So if I can get it disabled, that'll be a way to get it deleted, eventually.
Many years ago I used Google Authenticator as my primary 2FA but one day recently it decided to lose all my codes. Back when I set up authenticator, I didn't know it was important to save the backup/recovery codes.
I have my id, password, email account, and the same phone number which can receive SMS 6-digit codes if they were willing to send them.
None of that is relevant though, after entering the id/password it switches to a 2FA verification screen that accepts only Google Authenticator or Backup codes. It won't offer me the chance to verify in another way (SMS, personal details, info about my contacts, nothing at all).
I've seen that Selfie videos or photos can be used to enable access to the account but I don't have any selfie photos/videos on the account to compare with.
As far as I know, there are no human support people at meta. I think I'm screwed.
It doesn't use my name in the email, uses c.gle shortener links for everything. Major phishing scam red flags.
If this really is google sending this, they're doing a bad job. They should know better. I'll be manually heading into the account management page and looking for this (before anyone suggests it).
Where those 4 dots are, there's an animated histogram/bar-chart happening the whole time (except mysteriously when I took this photo). Is that going to continue forever as long as I don't have a SIM Card in the phone? Is it nothing to worry about? I only intend to use this old iPhone for testing stuff via WiFi.
It's currently behaving weirdly, not letting me select things in Settings (like that 2 Apple Account Suggestions) it claims I have. When I touch on it, the background of the button highlights, indicating I've definitely pressed it, but nothing happens. I just wondered if that was related to this ongoing animated thing in the top left. Also, if I press on Apple Account name, it goes into the submenu but none of the items (like Personal Information, Sign-In Security, Payment, etc) are selectable. They highlight when I press on them, but they don't open. Also, there's a busy wheel animating at the bottom of that page the whole time.
All very weird. This might explain why I stopped using this thing 3 years ago.
I bought this Mac Mini in September 2025 and didn't have access to my old Apple Id at the time so I created a user and a new Apple Id. Since then I've installed a handful of free apps and dev packages and created various things under this user.
I'm wondering, now that I've got my old Apple Id, if I can simply log out of the Apple Id (but not the user) and login as the original Apple Id and all will work seamlessly regarding my user account (the one I login to at boot time). Will I get to keep all the apps, history, configuration, etc and it will simply consider this as "the same user but with a different apple id"?
Or will it treat me as a new user?
I've read elsewhere that the major concerns for people have been paid-for subscriptions, apps, music, etc. I don't have any of that.
This the latest Android 4K Video Downloader Plus App and it's now giving the error "limited by YouTube". There's nothing I can do about it. I can't login because the 4K folks think logging in is only relevant to the desktop version. No idea why they think that, but they do.
I've just tried these videos on the desktop version (where my 4KVD is logged into YouTube) and they download just fine. I don't think the links are relevant but here's one of them.
This happened yesterday also, but a few hours later it wasn't happening (same phone, same links).

I've failed at the very first hurdle. I installed Reaper an hour ago, went into media explorer and found my known/good samples that play perfectly in Windows media player. I select one of the samples (a bass drum) and it plays it repeatedly in a loop with snaps, crackles, and pops continuously.
It's making we wonder why I'm trying this software. Last time I messed around with making some music was with Fruity Loops, like 15 years ago, with the same samples. I never had such issues with them then.
I've found some similar descriptions of this issue going back to 2010 with Reaper. The talk back then was about hard drives and memory and performance. This computer I'm using is pretty much as fast a laptop as you can get right now. All the memory, speed, and fast SSD.
