Anyone planning to join UoH Integrated MSc Biology this year?

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to gather data on students interested in the Integrated MSc Biology programme at the University of Hyderabad (2026–27).

Since UoH does not publish previous years' cutoff data for this programme, estimating admission trends is quite difficult. I thought it would be helpful if aspirants could voluntarily share their details so that we can create an unofficial cutoff analysis.

If you're planning to opt for UoH iMSc Biology, feel free to comment or DM me with:

• CUET score

• Category (UR/OBC/SC/ST/EWS)

• How likely are you to join UoH Integrated MSc Biology if selected? (0–10 scale, where 0 = definitely won't join and 10 = definitely will join)

Once I collect responses from at least 60 aspirants, I'll compile and share the anonymized dataset and analysis with the community.

With only 60 seats available, even a modest dataset could help current and future aspirants better understand the competition and admission trends.

Thanks!

how are hostel conditions actually right now?"

Hi, I'm joining the Integrated MSc Biology program this year. I wanted to ask about day-to-day hostel life — how are the current living conditions (room quality, mess food, water supply) for freshers, especially in the hostels new iMSc students typically get allotted to? Also wanted to check if getting a decent hostel room depends on connections with student political groups, or if the regular allotment process works fine for new students. Would appreciate honest inputs.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Life Sciences at Pondicherry University – Need Honest Reviews

Current students/alumni of PU Life Sciences, how is the course overall?

I'm aiming for IIT-JAM BT and wanted to know about the faculty, labs, curriculum, and opportunities. Is it a good choice for higher studies in biotech?

What is the actual condition of Sir Sunderlal Hospital for patients? Are the horror stories online true or exaggerated?

Incoming BHU student here — I've been seeing a lot of comments about Sir Sunderlal Hospital being poorly managed. For those currently at BHU, how does this actually affect day-to-day student life? Is there a student health center separate from SSH? What do students do when they fall seriously ill?

BHU students: What's the actual social and political atmosphere on campus?

I'm from Kerala and am considering BHU for my bachelor's. I could probably choose some Delhi universities as well, but the higher cost of living, pollution, and big-city lifestyle don't appeal to me much. BHU interests me because it seems affordable, has a strong peer group, and offers a good overall environment for students.

That said, I know Uttar Pradesh is generally more conservative than Kerala, and Varanasi has a strong religious and cultural identity. I'm expecting some culture shock, but I'd like to hear from current students: how welcoming is BHU to people with different social, political, or cultural views? As a relatively progressive student from Kerala and a non-Hindi speaker by background (though I can speak and understand Hindi), would I feel out of place, or is the campus diverse and open-minded enough that it doesn't really matter?

What do you guys think about my BHU preference list?

I'm aiming for B.Sc. at BHU and then preparing for IIT JAM Biotechnology, with the long-term goal of pursuing an **M.Sc. in Biotechnology from an IIT or another top institute. So I've ranked my preferences based on how well they align with that goal rather than placements or popularity.

This is my current preference list. Do you think I should change anything? 🤔

Especially interested in hearing from BHU students, IIT JAM aspirants, or anyone in life sciences. Would you reorder any of these options or keep them as they are? Please share your reasoning.

BSc (Hons.) Chemistry with Minor in Zoology at BHU — any reviews?

Hey everyone!

I'm a PCB stream student who's considering BSc (Hons.) Chemistry with a Minor in Zoology at BHU under the NEP 2020 curriculum. I'd love to hear from anyone currently studying this or something similar at BHU!

A few things I'm curious about:

- How is the Chemistry department at BHU? Faculty, labs, research culture?

- How does the Minor in Zoology work practically — is it well-integrated or just add-on credits?

- What's the workload like balancing Chemistry Hons + Zoology Minor?

- What are the career/higher study options after this combination?

- Any tips for a fresher joining BHU science stream?

Would really appreciate honest answers from current students or alumni. Thanks! 🙏

Conduct Certificate validity for BHU admission? 📄

Does the Conduct Certificate need to be issued in the current year for BHU admission/physical verification?

I already have a Conduct Certificate from my school, but it wasn't issued this year. Is there any validity or expiry period for a Conduct Certificate, or will an older one still be accepted during document verification?

Would appreciate insights from anyone who has gone through the admission process recently.A shorter title could be:

Actual cost of living at BHU (Hostel, Mess & Extras)

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to join BHU this year and wanted to get an idea of the actual monthly expenses for a student living in a hostel.

Could current students share:

Hostel fee (annual/semester-wise)

Mess charges per month

Average monthly personal expenses

Laundry, internet, printing, and other extra costs

How much a student typically spends in total per month excluding tuition fees

Also, are there any hidden or unexpected expenses that freshers should know about?

How is BHU for non-Hindi speaking students?

Hi everyone,

I'm considering joining Banaras Hindu University and wanted to know about the experience of students who are not native Hindi speakers.

Is Hindi necessary for daily life on campus and in Varanasi?

Are classes, notes, assignments, and exams generally conducted in English or Hindi?

Do non-Hindi speaking students face any difficulties in academics, hostels, or social life?

How easy is it to make friends and participate in student activities if your Hindi isn't very strong?

How long does it usually take to adapt?

I'd especially appreciate hearing from current students or alumni who came from non-Hindi-speaking backgrounds.
