best organization tool for masters degree

Hi everyone, I am starting my MBA, and it is completely different than my STEM bachelor's. What is the best organization tool you use for university nowadays? This is very case-based, so it is completely different than what I am used to. I have tried Notion, but the mobile interface isn't very good.

Some things I'd ideally want

- easy UI to navigate

- no bells and whistles

- an accessible to-do list

- good calendar synchronization (also what is the best cal : apple / google / outlook??)

- overall keeping your studies organized in a less overwhelming way

If you have any other recommendations for staying organized i'd love to hear it! I tried a physical planner and a planner on my iPad, but it seems like that isn't for me.

Best thrift/consignment stores

Hey all, moving to London soon and I’m looking for cheap small furniture (tables, chairs, lamps etc). Haven’t had the greatest luck on fb marketplace or kijiji.

What’re the best/cheapest local thrift stores/consignment stores. Trying to stay away from value village and goodwill because their prices don’t reflect used items anymore lol. I’m balling on a budget but also love supporting local businesses! Bonus if they donate to local charities 😆

Grad Bursary amount

How much do you get from the grad student bursary? I am doing an MSc and hope to do it as well. Also, what are other financial aid options for grad students?

Can’t find a job

I just graduated university and will be going into grad school in September but I need a job for the summer. But I haven’t gotten anything, I’ve been applying since may. This is so discouraging, I just want a minimum wage job to help me fund my education but all I have been is ghosted. Does anyone have any tips or tricks? I don’t have much experience other than a high school job and various lab experiences from undergrad. But I thought these were supposed to be entry level/no experience needed jobs :/

I have a car and a very flexible schedule, even applied to as far as Mississauga

Mother does not let me dress comfortably at home

I am 22 and live with my parents still, as I am focusing on my master's degree. However, my mother and I have varying perspectives on modesty, and all my other non south asian friends think what she believes is wild.

My mom believes that even in front of all women/mahrem (even in your own home), you should still dress modestly. Aka, you should never show any skin ever. And I don't mean bikinis, I mean tank tops and pants/skirts above your ankle. Even when I tell her, I am allowed to dress however I'd like in front of only women/my mahrems/my future husband, she says it's wrong because God and the angels can still see you and they see you sinning. And it gets to the point where in my household, it is only women and all the curtains are always closed. My mother says I am not allowed to wear shorts or tank tops, even in front of my own mother, in a house with no air conditioning in the summer. I always argue back, what about when I am changing my clothes or showering, but she says: That is why you do it quickly and with shame, and you should never be fully naked (which I don't understand when showering???) and then lectures me on how I am disrespectful for talking back and questioning her

My friends are all Arabs, and they invite me to women-only engagement parties/birthdays, etc., and all the women take off their abayas, and they are wearing gorgeous, cute dresses that are short/sleeveless/low-cut. I get so jealous because my mother does not even let me wear tank tops to sleep, let alone own them.

Can anyone (esp if you are Pakistani/south asian) tell me if they also experience this? I feel so isolated bc all my friends say this is not normal, and they feel sorry for me. I dress modestly outside of the home, but I just want to be free in my own bedroom

Edit: thank so much for all the responses and the advice ladies. I can’t respond to all of you but it means so much that I’m not alone and all the advice you have given me ❤️ and if anyone else is going through similar struggles I wish you all the best

MSc finances

I recently got my offer for a course based MSc at western. But I did my osap estimate and it doesn’t even cover the tuition. This was never the case for me in undergrad (I am very grateful and I understand many people did not have the same experience with OSAP). I was wondering how are others affording school if they have no parental support? I got a 6k admission scholarship but it still isn’t enough for tuition and living expenses :/ do people do lines of credit from banks? I also want to work part time during the year to hopefully offset the cost

I am graduating soon and it is has been SO difficult to find a nice-looking grad dress that doesn't look like it's from the 1800s, isnt 100% polyester, doesn't have a random slit, isnt $500 cad with duties+tax+shipping. But every single site is based in the uk or america. i can not afford any duties and my budget is ~100 but i have not been able to find anything.

What are some trusted, no duties to Canada, affordable websites to buy a nice, modest dress for graduation that ships within 3 weeks?
