Came back after a long break, confused about some things
I get the gist of sanctuaries, but what are the other two smell icons, the eyes and footprints?
Are fish meant to teleport around? Even on low ping servers, I've given up trying to grow deinos because the fish are impossible to catch.
Where the hell do you find beach spawns like crabs and turtles? I've been able to find the other spawns but I've never seen any beach NPCs.
Do people no longer nest, is it broken or something? I used to enjoy nesting in and learning how to do things from my dino parents, but I've yet to see any available nests on official servers.
Where is everybody? I'm playing on full, official servers and have yet to see any of the big herds I'm used to. I run into wandering carnivores and have learned some deino hot-spots but that's it.
How important is it to aim for prime elder? Has that always been a feature and I just didn't notice? I really enjoyed playing with the basic goal of surviving, and I do like the good/poor diet aspect, but I don't fancy being punished for not playing a certain, arbitrary way.
Started metformin today, any tips for dealing with symptoms (or warnings to heed)?
Hadn't heard of it prior to meeting my endocrinologist. Got the prescription this morning, read the leaflet and had a pill with my lunch before taking a nap. Figured the possible side effects might show up in a few days but woke up having to run to the toilet. Absolutely destroyed it.
Are there any quirks I should know about that might not be in the leaflet, or general advice for living with the side effects?
Did we get the wrong portable AC for this room?
Never had any sort of AC before, thought we made a good decision in getting this one but after reading the manual, I'm concerned that the room is too cramped. We considered a window unit but the bay is extremely old/decrepit and we were worried that it wouldn't be able to handle the extra weight.
We got the MeacoCool MC Series 7,000. It's suitable for rooms 12² to 22m² and the unit is 34.8D x 35W x 70.1H.
The thing itself will fit and we don't think there will be too much problem connecting it to the window, but the manual mentions needing some ~50CM room around the unit for airflow. We have a desk fan and tower fan that we can run to create more airflow, but I don't know if that's enough.
I drew over pictures I took because I don't want to show the mess we have currently. Measurements picture isn't drawn accurately.
Why's it so hard to reach a human in customer support now?
Losing my mind trying to just speak to a human at Argos. Phone, web chat and Twitter DMs are all bots that turn me away because I have no order number. I followed their link to facebook messeger, it didn't work. The URL caught me off guard.
We will probably go to a physical store to ask at this point, just so tired. Feels like so many companies now are impossible to reach? Is it really that much more profitable in the long run, when I'm sure many customers get fed up and go somewhere else?
The wordage in this FB post rubs me the wrong way
Using the word 'female' here feels SO weird. Is it a reference to something in the episode that I'm missing? So many manosphere types are saying "female", "crazy females", etc lately, it caught me off guard seeing it on their FB. It doesn't read like the rest of their posts at all and imo just flows badly as a sentence. "His friend ruined her own marriage for him" or "she ruined her own marriage over him" are better alternatives without the weird term, it genuinely feels like the sort of thing I would quickly scroll past on my youtube shorts
Surprised by old diagnosis that neither me or my family were told about, is this common?
Went in for an unrelated physical exam and started reading the patient history on my referral form. Under the 'active' section I can see that, during my time at CAMHS, I was diagnosed with 'emotionally unstable personality disorder', which has an [X] in front of it. It also says further down that I have PTSD, which isn't a surprise to me, but neither me or my family were ever told that directly - it was only ever referred to as anxiety, depression, etc. The word 'trauma' was used to describe things that had happened to me, but we were never sat down and told that I had this or that.
This was about ten years ago and I've had so many healthcare interactions since then, many of them psychiatric in nature. It feels so weird knowing that this diagnosis has been in the background and potentially affected how I was seen or cared for, while I had no idea.
There were so many opportunities for this conversation to happen, is this common? I can't put into words why it's upsetting me so much to think about, am I overreacting?
