How gay friendly is Lifetime fitness?

Have any of you been in either the NJ or NY area? Do you feel like there is a good blend of demographics or is it very straight leaning and/or stuffy?

I don’t need it to be like a hookup spot, but it’d be nice to feel comfortable in it and maybe meet a cute guy or make friends.

Thanks

Popping sound coming from overhead glass on M3

For a while, I kept thinking that my car was getting hit with acorns on the roof, but once I started paying attention, I realized that there is this unprovoked popping sound coming near the top middle of my M3 2025 roof. It sounds like the sound that something hitting the glass on the roof would make, but it sounds exactly the same every time and happens at all speeds and driving environments.

It’s been happening for weeks now and I’m not sure what to make of it.

Has anybody else experienced this?

Guys who have been through intense situations how have you approached being a civilian again?

Things like Trauma, military deployment, battling severe illness, etc. that forced you to not live like others for a long time.

I know this isn’t unique to being gay, but I (33M) sometimes struggle to identify what civilian me consists of anymore when I had to abandon that version of myself for nearly 10 years. It would be nice to hear what other gay brothers in similar situations did to adjust.

I do things like catch myself threat assessing people or situations and have to get myself to stop it and just try to relax and enjoy smaller things. It can feel like the addition of carrying that while going into gay spaces which requires vulnerability in itself I guess can make it a bit more awkward for me sometimes.

What gets you to relax a bit and remember to live and connect with people instead of survive?

Do you guys get gym “beer goggles”?

When I’m pushing good weight in the gym I’m starting to realize that sometimes I get horny to the point where a lot more guys will seem really hot to me just in that span of time.

Later when i have time to cool off I’m like wait they’re not THAT sexy but in the heat of it you would’ve thought i was surrounded by my fantasies haha

Anyone else know what im talking about?

What’s with the sore throat after making out with some guys? So annoying

I spent the night out last night because I knew I wasn’t going to make it to pride today.

When I woke this morning, I started to feel that scratchiness in my throat, and I rolled my eyes so hard because I knew it was happening again. I don’t get full on sick but my throat will hate me for like a day and a half.

I noticed it always the guys who decide to randomly start shoving their tongue as far as they can down my throat in the middle of making out.

Like I love making out too, but can you not act like you’re trying to lay eggs in me and assault my tonsils? 😒

Spot recommendations for guys in their 30’s and up?

Hey guys I’m new to the NY scene in terms of going to bars and stuff. I’m contemplating hitting some spots tonight, but I don’t want to repeat the last time where I ended up in a mostly college age area which was awkward haha

Thanks in advance ✌🏼

Coworker mocked the way I talked at my new job and it stuck with me.

With my personality I can get excited and I get that. With a new promising job that I need I’m naturally really invested right now trying to learn everything while showing that I mean well.

Being in my 30s I’ve learned to tone myself down around strangers and I don’t think I was that bad. I didn’t get any weird looks from anyone and I’ve gotten great feedback so far.

Fast forward today and my older coworker was in a mood today being passive aggressive to me. It built up over this week. Then when they dropped by my desk to tell me something, I simply followed up with a question and they completely blew up on me.

They said that they can’t talk to me and started mocking how I asked the follow up question over and over. I defended why I asked that question, but it ruined the mood of the day.

I really sat here wondering why such a crappy comment from an old person really messed with me until I realized it took me back to when I was a kid and defenseless against the relentless judgement of the kids and adults around me for just existing.

It was baffling to be in an adult situation and have someone take pleasure in being so outwardly ableist towards me.

Really sucks to feel this way again.

Edit: I know this is definitely an HR violation but I haven’t converted to permanent yet and I’ve only been working here for two months. I kind of feel like I don’t have much influence yet in this kind of situation.

Guy I liked lost weight and now I’m not attracted to him anymore

A guy I was seeing on and off was very attractive to me and we hit it off too so we enjoy being together. I like thicker guys and he hit what I like perfectly. We had a long stretch we didn’t see each other so when we saw each other again recently I realized he lost a lot of weight.

He has a much leaner thinner look and I’m happy for him because I know he wanted to lose weight, but I don’t really feel much now. What drives me crazy is having a bigger guy pound into me and now it just is a different vibe.

What do you guys think is a tactful way of navigating this while still being friends? I’m proud of him and I know it was hard work so I don’t want to take away from that.
