characters referred by surname?

Here are examples I remember

Monkey D. Luffy: called 'Monkey-chan' by Shakky

Roronoa Zoro: many times referred as Roronoa

Trafalgar Law: also referred Trafalgar

Scratchmen Apoo: Kid called him Scratchmen

Eustass Kid: I don't remember when he was called Eustass but he definitely was called that.

Rocks D. Xebec: People just call him Rocks.

Any other examples? I tried putting Caesar Clown but it seems his name is Caesar.

(Boa Hancock is called Hancock not Boa goddamn english speakers.)

MJ12 raid on Lucky Money and other questionable things in Hong Kong

It is said that China is one of the few sovereign superpowers in the world and the Triads in have a huge presence in Hong Kong. So this makes me question MJ12 bursting into Lucky Money. At best MJ12 Commandos are viewed as VersaLife security so this would look like VersaLife attacking the Red Arrow Triad. First of all why would MJ12 think this a good idea doing this when VersaLife is literally around Red Arrow territory? Did they think Red Arrow would not retaliate? Also how were they possible to make Helibase. Did the Chinese(Hong Kong) government just allow MJ12 to have a military presence on top of their city with no questions? Did nobody question why there is a elevator which has a keypad which leads to god knows where? Just thinking about how absurd this is gives me a migraine.

Working around killing Anna Navarre yourself

https://reddit.com/link/1tibbs3/video/itrnvyo2182h1/player

I found a loophole when it comes to handling Anna non-lethally. The rules are simple as long as your input is not responsible for the death of an npc the run still continues. What happened here is as soon as Anna approaches the player, JC for some reason on his own without the player's input throws the object he is holding. In this case the object is the TNT crate and it exploding results in Anna's death. Yes...so it is possible to maintain the canon of JC killing Anna without the player actually doing it...(that sentence sounds insane but it is true). It seems when the cutscenes play it is programmed for the player character to throw the object he is holding.

It might not be be clear in the footage but you will see JC throwing objects on his own when you play it.

Which skills to invest

https://preview.redd.it/jy85f9kap02h1.png?width=1602&format=png&auto=webp&s=04d8973b195f0c631f451ad44ff1c3240f89ea86

This is currently how I set the skills for my non-lethal run but it could be applied to lethal runs as well.

Heavy is slow untrained but there isn't much issue using it against turrets or robots.

Sniper Rifle is really accurate unless using scope and assault rifle is mostly useless unless the grenade launcher so I leave it untrained. I recommend putting the laser mod on the rifles.

There is not much reason to use low-tech unless using prod or baton and the damage is good enough. In the later parts of the game I do recommend upgrading it to Trained so one prod to the back takes down a MIB.

As for demolition I barely use it since there are enough GEP ammo and grenade launcher ammo using duplication glitch which makes this not that useful so leave it at trained.

I do not see the point of putting points in Environmental Training and Swimming so I keep them untrained.

Lockpicking, Electronics, Medicine can be left at untrained. Due to the duplication glitch you can get as many Lockpicks, Multitools and Medkits as you want.

As for computer keep it trained. Since that is good enough to see every email in the game without needing a password or turn off cameras so that turrets or alarms do not bother you.

Setting Pistol to advanced helps a lot because early game enemies are NSF and they have low health which makes it is possible to take them down with one stealth pistol headshot. If you explore enough in Hell's Kitchen you can master Pistol skill without fighting a single enemy.

You can master every skill if you use the Vandenberg generator glitch so you will be able to go nuts starting from Vandenberg to all the way to Area 51.

The notion that Mankind Divided is a short game?

There is this idea that Mankind Divided is somehow a 'short game' and I think this idea comes from people who only played the main story missions and skipped side quests. This isn't about Mankind Divided's quality and more about the amount of content the game provides.

In order to talk about wether Mankind Divided is short or not we have to compare it with its predecessor Human Revolution. Currently Human Revolution is available in Director's Cut version so that version will be used as an example and since Desperate Measures has been free since 2017/01/06 it will be also counted as 'default' Mankind Divided since only Missing Link and Desperate Measures are free dlcs.

https://howlongtobeat.com/?q=deus%2520ex According to this website if someone wants to 100% Human Revolution Director's Cut it would take 46.5 hours. However if someone wants to 100% Mankind Divided+Desperate Measures it would take 55 hours. Even if we would to ignore 100%ing the game and do side quests Director's Cut takes 31 hours while Mankind Divided+Desperate Measures takes 32.5 hours.

If someone wants to play only the main story missions from start to finish they can do that and Human Revolution will be longer than Mankind Divided by 6 hours. Then again they would be missing a lot of content and interesting lore.

Just writing about this makes me think about how long Mankind Divided would be if the game wasn't cut. There would be more side quests and more story missions for the player to enjoy.

Criminal Past fake memories and when?

There are theories and that the events of Criminal Past could be implanted memories. However what needs to be stated is Criminal Past happens after Adam Jensen escapes from Alaska and joins the North American Division of TF29. If he was implanted  with false memories I think this scene is where it happened. For some reason Delara is sitting next to Adam and it shows Adam was sleeping. Who knows what Delara was doing to him when Adam was sleeping?

The true og Marine. Not Garp, Sengoku, Tsuru.

Rereading the Big Mom's backstory I learned due to Carmel's involvement John Giant(still the most effortless One Piece name) is in the Marines(chapter 867). But then there was something also notable to think about. During this point in the flashback which is 63 years ago John Giant is already in the Marines. This means in One Piece canon(currently) he is the longest serving Marine since Garp, Sengoku and Tsuru are said to join the Marines 56 years ago according to https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Vivre_Card_-_One_Piece_Visual_Dictionary . Sure even old guards such as Garp, Sengoku and Tsuru had to start somewhere being around Marines who served longer than them but John Giant is currently the only known Marine who at the bare minimum was in the organization 7 years longer than the trio and still in the organization. Just thinking about John Giant looking at Garp, Sengoku and Tsuru who were chore boy rank back in the day is fascinating. Despite serving this long I don't see anyone describing John Giant as Marine legend which just feels weird.

Canonical(?) run?

Has anyone tried to play the games in a canonical way? What I mean by that is when you play Human Revolution you only use the augs which are unlocked as default in Criminal Past and for Criminal Past you only use augs which are available as default in the prologue mission of Mankind Divided and for Mankind Divided you only use augs already unlocked in Desperate Measures and System Rift and only spend points in other augs after the events of those two dlcs ending. There is no real reason to this then again it is to play the game as canonically as possible such as not killing Chad in original Deus Ex or not killing David Sarif in Panchea during Human Revolution.

He was considered a 'conspiracy theorist' in his time but he predicted the future. Both UNATCO and Grays(alien lookalikes) proved his point. It is unfortunate how Nicolette and Chad became sellouts. I think if K saw what Nicolette and Chad did in Invisible War he would despise them for going against the cause of Silhouette.

Belltower and Tarvos

According Mankind Divided and other sources Tarvos is described to be rebrand of Belltower after it declaring bankruptcy in 2029. However the loading screen of Desperate Measures states Tarvos was incorporated 2 years before Mankind Divided. That would mean Tarvos did not exist to replace Belltower but just existed and it coexisted with Belltower for close to 2 years. Was Tarvos a subsidiary of Bellwtower? There needs to be a lot of things explained since Tarvos did not come out of nowhere to serve the interests of Belltower.

Celestial Dragons are more useless in the world of One Piece than you think

The Celestial Dragons are known as useless beings who do anything they want without consequences but in fact if you think about it they are even more useless to the society they live in than you think. Even the nobles in the real world who lived the most luxurious lives only for themselves in a ironic way contributed to the scientific and artistic development. In the real world developments of automobiles or artworks and ceramics in a way developed due to luxurious spending of the ruling class and had a trickle-down effect. Celestial Dragons serve no purpose in the world of One Piece they do nothing but eat, defecate and torture slaves having absolutely zero positive effect to the world they live in.

A new option which exist if a new game comes out.

In Deus Ex games there are lethal and non-lethal runs but there are no pure pacifist runs. Something the developers of the series don't seem to comprehend is shoving a prod to someone's back or firing a tranquilizer dart at someone is still violence. If there is a new game there should be a way to play the game in a pure pacifist way as in being able to complete the game without destroying a single camera, robot or knocking out anyone.

(I did both Deus Ex and Mankind Divided non-lethal runs but never did a pacifist run.)

Some people might not understand the question because either people do not know Majestic 12 are active during this period of the time or just say Majestic 12 are at this point are just sub-organization of this time. If you see the cutscene in the NSN it can be seen Bob Page telling Joseph Manderley to tell Viktor Marchenko to kill Talos Rucker but Joseph Manderley mentions the Illuminati council would not like Bob Page's decisions meaning the decision to kill Talos Rucker is from Majestic 12 side of the Illuminati not the council. The poison Orchid is made by VersaLife which itself is subsidiary of Page Industries. Majestic 12 connection becomes even more clear in the GARM facility where it is stated in email that Shadow Operatives take orders from 'Mister Majestic'. In a pocket secretary in the London mission it is said 'MrM' was the person who put Viktor Marchenko in charge of Shadow Operatives for their London missions. Illuminati council themselves barely did a thing for the maintain plot of the game it was the unnamed but clearly existing Majestic 12 and Bob Page who was

  1. Ordering Viktor Marchenko to blow up Ruzicka Station

  2. Giving orders to the Shadow Operatives

  3. Have Viktor Marchenko kill Talos Rucker

  4. Made the orchid

  5. Putting Viktor Marchenko in charge for their London Mission

Illuminati looks like the main antagonists of the game because of its association with Bob Page and Majestic 12 not because they themselves do something contributing to the plot. No wonder Bob Page overthrew them because they were useless and he had to do everything.

This game looked like it had the most focus connecting itself other material. There was a effort to connect itself to other games and books in the franchise. Here are the references I found.

Deus Ex: obviously since this is where the eventually has to lead to

Deus Ex Bible: the whole augs being treated as second class citizens came from here

Invisible War: In the VersaLife heist you can see a email mentioning Shackelton Facility

Icarus Effect: email in TF29 mentions connections between Anna Kelso and Lebdev

Human Revolution: continues from this game

Missing Link: A pocket secretary referring to Adam as 'bratán' aka 'Garvin Quinn'.

The Fall: Alex Vega talks about how she escaped from VersaLife

Children's Crusade: Nimei a TF29 agent in the comic is said to be dead in TF29 emails.

Black Light: Adam in Alaska, North American TF29 Director Christian Jarreau in email.

Hard Line: Alex working for Lebdev Global mentioned in pocket secretary at home.

The Dawning Darkness: direct prequel with Singh, connecting to the prologue mission.

In 01011000 after talking to Eliza Everett's mercenaries(except Walker since successful dialogue option)came to Adam's house(three of them). I immediately jumped outside of the front door and lured them to cops on the lower floor. Then for some reason Tars' bodyguard outside started shooting the mercenaries as well and I also went inside Tars' shop so the mercenaries start shooting at the direction of his shop. What happened was the cops, Everett's mercenaries, Tars and the people all started fighting each other and the end result was only one cop surviving and everyone else involved in the fight dying.

I knew this game took place after Human Revolution's prologue but before the rest of the game because the developers said so and the Icarus Effect took place before during and after the events of Human Revolution's prologue. I found a much clear indication of that rather than other sources or relying on the words of the developers.

https://preview.redd.it/odjp9rn2uoyg1.png?width=2880&format=png&auto=webp&s=cf1b1e0a817c8280cd0174e62c67de7d0b0774fe

This could be seen in the pocket secretary in the Tyrant jet.

[Events in order are Icarus Effect(contains events during Human Revolution prologue and The Fall Prologue)->The Fall(most of the game)->Human Revolution(most of the game). you can put Human Revolution comics somewhere in there but it seems like it isn't really canon so who knows?]
