Parnate tachycardia
Need direct experiences/advice.
- Parnate 30 mg
- ~4 weeks total, 1 week at 30 mg
- Resting HR around 120
- Worse standing/walking; sometimes need to stop briefly
- BP not dangerously high
Question:
Did the tachycardia eventually go away for you on Parnate, or was it a sign it wasn’t tolerated?
Frustrating because:
- it’s helped depression more than anything in the last year w multiple med trials after quitting marplan
- but I still have significant depression/anxiety, so I don’t think I’m even at an effective dose yet
Other MAOIs:
- Marplan = not very effective overall, barely touched panic/anxiety
- Nardil = helped anxiety more but made me gain 20 lbs
- Selegiline = don’t remember much
Trying to decide:
- wait longer at 30 mg
- eventually increase
- switch to Nardil/selegiline
- or another MAOI option in the US I’m overlooking?
