Introducing my game Drawchemy!

Introducing my game Drawchemy!

Hey! This past week I announced my puzzle platformer called Drawchemy! In Drawchemy you can draw and build your own platforms and contraptions to solve challengess. Every brush you draw with has unique gameplay properties. Water can be swam through, balloons float into the sky, etc.

It’s inspired by games like Scribblenauts and Mosa Lina, and allows for open ended problem solving

If this sounds interesting, check it out on steam and give it a Wishlist! It helps a ton, especially for niche puzzle games like this ❤️

How I Accidentally Made a Video Game because of Lud

Over 3 years ago I participated in Ludwig’s game jam and won first place with my game Coot’s TV. I had always wanted to pursue indie game dev and participating (and winning!) this jam was super special to me. It gave me the confidence to begin making my own game.

Fast forward to this past week, I announced at Secret Sauce my game Drawchemy. Some of you may have seen it on Ludwig’s stream. It was really surreal and full circle to have Ludwig & chat reacting to a game I started because of this community. During my dev diary segment, someone in chat also said I looked like bald Stanz and now I can’t unsee it so thanks for that haha.

Anyways just wanted to share the story and say thanks for helping me pursue my dreams. And if my game looks cool, give it a Wishlist, it helps a ton. ❤️

Announced and showcased my first game at Open Sauce!

This past week I announced my first solo developed game Drawchemy at the Secret Sauce showcase and subsequently showcased it at Open Sauce. It was an absolutely incredible weekend.

Just wanted to share some insights. While I got a small Wishlist bump, the best part of the event was the validation you get from actually watching people play your game. As solo devs I feel like it’s so easy to get discouraged and lose the excitement and passion when we’re so close to our projects. I’ve been there for some time, thinking my game wasn’t good enough, etc.

But coming to an event and watching people of all ages play, get excited about, and engage with myself and my game was incredible. All the imposter syndrome and anxiety I had melted away. I definitely encourage everyone if they have the means, to attend in person events! ❤️

Announcing my Scribblenauts inspired game Drawchemy!

Hey all! I’ve been working on a game for the last two years called Drawchemy. It lets you draw, build, and create things to solve open ended challenges. Whatever brush you draw with has its own properties and effects!

Scribblenauts was a really special game to me growing up. I always loved the open ended nature and experimentation from it. I wanted to play it homage in my first ever solo game project.

If this looks cool, check it out here ❤️

Announcing my LittleBigPlanet inspired game; Drawchemy!

Over 15 years ago I got my start in game development through LittleBigPlanet.

Fast forward to today, I’m excited to announce my first solo developed game called Drawchemy! ✏️✨

It’s a roguelike that gives you the power to build and create to solve open ended challenges. In many ways it’s a love letter to LittleBigPlanet; the game that got me into game dev!

If this sounds cool, check it out on steam and give it a Wishlist!

And join the discord too! Will keep it updated with dev progress. I’m trying to bring the spirit of LittleBigPlanet into this game and would love any and all feedback.
