Should the Confederate Flag be banned at American State Fair as it relates to treason against US?

At the NC booth there was a Confederate Flag image that has since been taken down
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/confederate-flag-image-removed-north-carolina-booth-great-american-sta-rcna352203

Should this flag be banned at all booths aside from a booth detailing Civil War History? Ideally any flag that fought against the US government should be banned aside from maybe booths detailing those conflicts?

'I will find you' plot holes

So overall I thought the series was ok. It wasn't as good as the other series but I'm wondering if I don't notice the issues when its set in UK as they become very obvious set in US especially Boston area where I live.

Before getting into it Harlan Coben and producers should try to spend an hour or so before releasing a book and then a series to try and flesh out a stories minor and major plot holes. I**t seems trivial but minor mistakes do matter and are easily solvable with either a 10 second Google search or even a few interns actually checking this stuff.**

SPOILERS

* >!David would not be in prison in Maine. He was convicted of a state crime in Massachusetts and would not be in a Maine state prison. He would be in a MCI prison. There is literally zero reason to have him in prison in Maine and this issue would be true no matter where in the US its set and adds nothing to story so dumb mistake to make.!<
* >!Revere MA is not in Boston. While it is in Suffolk County and near Boston it isn't Boston. This is important. They have their own police department etc. !<
* >!David would have had access to literally all the homicide files and everything that the police had at the time. Failure to provide key investigatory material would be a massive Brady Violation. While Brady violations do happen all the time failure to turn over all investigation files is very basic and would be ground for a retrial. Hell its common for prisoners to get access to their files in prison as they are the ones that often work on their appeals with their lawyers etc. The doing it as a favor was really not needed!<
* >!The police investigation into the homicide would not have been a Boston Police case. In Mass all homicide investigations are handled by State Police with local PD assistance aside from a few cities that have homicide units Revere is not one of those towns though. This is a major error and literally zero reason to just make them state cops rather then BPD. BPD would have no say or investigation in the kid's death.!<
* >!The initial DNA testing at court doesn't make sense. For major forensic testing like what was done in the show the defense is invited to both witness it and do their own swabs etc to get their own independent testing done. David was a law professor he would be well aware etc. !<
* >!The FBI would not be the fed agency to get involved. Again zero reason to have it be them just have it be US Marshals no reason to have the feds be FBI. !<
* >!Federal agencies never allow family members to work together. No favors ever just no. Make it friend of family or something not father/daughter thats lame and adds nothing to plot!<
* >!The Cowboy move by exhuming the body is literally dumbest move. Without an official action by courts doing it anything found or not found is not useable in court. Also no single person is digging 6 feet under by themselves in the middle of the night etc. Just not happening. !<
* >!Going to NYC when Bolo issued and not swapping license plates is beyond dumb. Its most camera area in the country. !<
* >!Feds not using like 100+ NYPD to help apprehend an escapee makes zero sense you'd have them at all points of egress/ingress and on roof. David being able to escape like that would be beyond incompetence !<
* >!Rachel would have likely had an ankle monitor also bail cannot be set until she saw a judge. !<
* >!Boston Police Department doesn't do precincts. They have districts. Also If Rachel lives in Revere it would be Revere police or State outside her place not BPD!<
* >!The FBI chase to the airstrip wouldn't just be FBI. Like once again they would call in local and state to get ahead and stop them. Not doing that makes zero sense. Rather then a chase maybe make it a tip that lucks out the chase is bad writing though!<
* >!Julie cancelling the DNA test makes zero sense. The lead might be a stretch but a DNA is relatively cheap. Federal agencies routinely get leads/tips etc and with the photo it would typically be worth the few thousand to rule out the lead rather then risk it leaking as that would create a DOJ PR nightmare if its leaked she blocked a DNA test with a photo and leads!<
* >!Boston General is not a hospital. There is Mass General called MGH. There is also Boston Medical Center. !<

Does Amtrak have plans to speed up crew changes at NYP on NER/Acela?

I know a high percentage of people get off and board at NYP but the wait times can feel excessive. Does Amtrak have plans to speed this up? This could help capture more passengers such as New England to NJ riders.

Can BP please get someone to push back on their Ukraine takes?

John Mearsheimer is a complete nut. He keeps claiming that Russia is holding back etc. He seems obsessed with worshipping Putin. If BP wants to discuss the war maybe have folks on it who will challenge them on their views not more Russian apologists.

Does Reckless Ben have civil attorneys yet?

I know he has criminal attorneys any updates on civil side? He really needs a whole team. His side will have quite a few motions to work through the first and upmost is getting TRO thrown out as its blatantly unconstitutional. The next and along lines is moving his civil case to federal court. He meets the diversity requirement so it should be easier.

Should BYD be allowed to build and sell EVs in the US?

For those that have been following the global auto industry BYD has been growing around the world

https://www.autoweek.com/news/a71233648/byd-gains-ground-globally/

Should BYD be allowed to sell in the US if consumers here would be willing to buy it? Do US Auto companies and workers only have themselves to blame if BYD offers a product that US consumers want and that they cannot match?

State and Foxboro should not allow more events at Gillette(Boston Stadium) without Kraft paying for more CR upgrades

The lines that visitors around the world experienced taking the CR yesterday is unacceptable. Route 1 has always been a mess after Patriots games/concerts but this is unacceptable. I place biggest source of blame with the Kraft group as they should be responsible for most of the upgrades. While the T deserves a lot of the blame for not doing more dry runs they ultimately are working with limited infrastructure. First not running trains from Providence as well is unacceptable. Kraft group should pay for layover tracks nearby the station to allow for more trains in both directions. Next to handle the flow T/Kraft group should work with Amtrak whereas needed they can contract out Amtraks charter service for events like this. I really hope State and Foxboro pressure Kraft group more to pay for upgrades even threatening to not allow night football games/concerts it they dont do more to upgrade tracks.

Shouldn’t Presidents want interest rates to remain higher assuming inflation isn’t running hot?

If interest rates are higher and not being driven by very high inflation isn’t that a net positive? First a significant amount of investors in particular state pension funds and retirees depend on fixed income. Higher rates make fixed income easier. Most importantly the next economic downturn is a matter of when not if. Higher rates give central banks more leeway to cut and stimulate economic activity when the inevitable downturn happens. Finally we hear a lot about housing being unaffordable. When rates are too low it raises the cost of real estate too quickly and makes it difficult for new buyers to enter the market as they need a larger down payment.

Do you think Juneteenth a good holiday idea?

Background https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juneteenth

Juneteenth is a day that marks the final enforcement of the Emancipation proclamation and Thirteenth amendment. An interesting part of Civil war history was slavery not fully ending at the conclusion at the war in April of 1865 but June 1865.

It is a holiday first celebrated primarily within the black community but became a holiday in 2021.

One interesting parts about this holiday. It is the second holiday linked to civil war as Memorial day was originally primarily a Civil War holiday.

Do you think its a good thing to have a federal holiday marking end of slavery? How would you rank it compared to other federal holidays?

Thoughts on DOJ investigation E Jean Carroll?

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/clyp77jd407o

The background of the investigation stems from a deposition in NY in 2022 where E Jean Carroll stated she received no outside funding.

She later amended her testimony and was redeposed. Later the district judge and circuit judge ruled this wasn't a big deal

>The issue was brought up during the case's appeal, and the court found that Carroll had "plausibly represented" in her deposition "that she had forgotten about the limited outside funding counsel obtained".

>The "additional discovery... showed that Ms Carroll simply was not involved in the matter of who was or was not funding her litigation costs," the US Court of Appeals for the Second District continued in a 2024 ruling.

Do you believe this warrants a perjury investigation as multiple federal judges have already reviewed this and determined it wasn't a problem? The inference being that if it was serious lawsuit would have been potentially tossed and referrals made to DOJ by judges.

Also is this the a good use of DOJ resources?

Does Israel matter more then allied nations?

Does Israel matter more then other allied nations? For all the effort, time, and resources we put into it does it matter more then:

  • Japan
  • Taiwan
  • Canada
  • Mexico
  • EU
  • UK
  • Australia
  • Ukraine
  • SK

The current conflict with Iran was done to support Israel and we are delaying arm sales to countries such as Taiwan and Ukraine to support Israel in Epic Fury. Is this better to prioritize Israel over these other nations? Culturally, demographic wise, and economically almost every country on the list above has more ties to the US then Israel does.

BP should cover Graham Platner attack ad on Price Equity that aired during Red Sox game

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCwGKuQD_7Y

You can watch the short news clip on it. The crazy part is after initially airing on NESN (Regional sports channel owned by Red Sox) the ad was pulled. In the ad Graham Platner attacked PE buying up not just homes but also ruining the Red Sox organization. The Red Sox are currently in last place in the AL East and tying Private Equity to the Red Sox losing is a brilliant strategy by the Platner campaign.
