I bought a house and it came with a Lifesource water filter but I still see water marks, so it’s definitely not a water system. It’s supposed to be “drinkable”, but to be real, ain’t no one drinking it. It doesn’t taste good and we have a RO water system for the sink anyway.
I want to disconnect it because I feel like it’s just adding to my water and electricity bill when it rinses the system for several hours every 2 weeks. However, before I do that I want to check and see if anyone has one and has noticed a difference. I used to live with my parents in Glendale for my whole life and never really noticed a change so just want to get others’ opinions.
My niece turns 1 soon and I want to get a gift that her mom will actually love and appreciate! I’m not a mother yet so I thought I’d come to the experts. My budget is $200. No clothing, shoes, blankets, or toys since I’m sure the rest of the family will bring those.

My ceramic or porcelain pool tile where the spa water falls into the pool is discolored. When I scratch at it nothing happens, and it seems like whatever happens is inside the tile itself and not surface level. What could it be? Anyone know a way to remedy it or is it ruined forever?
It happened over the course of a year after the pool tile was installed. I was not the homeowner when it was installed.

UPDATE: I was asking because I have to move and was considering LA City jurisdiction. No chance after all of these sad experiences when y'all need help 😞 I'll stick to Glendale, Pasadena and Burbank. Thanks guys and sorry that you're all going through this!
I’m curious, what’s LAPD‘s response time if you have an emergency? I’ve dialed 911 a couple of times and was on hold for 30 minutes once lol (I called for an active fire), and 20 minutes for a naked crackhead threatening people and smoking literal crack in a restaurant.
But if there’s a medical emergency or thrre has been a burglary or your house alarm goes off, in your experience, what’s the response time for someone to come out?
Willing to do self pay. Need someone specialized in anxiety who won’t prescribe a random med and call it a fix. Want someone really good who understands treatment options

I took my 3 year old Pom for a dental cleaning today. It’s the one where they put them under. Nothing was really wrong aside from tartar build up. I just wanted to have his teeth cleaned proactively.
They found 3 loose tooth that were extracted, and 2 cracked canines that they left intact because they weren’t too bad.
The vet asked if he chews on anything really hard. About 3 months ago I read that dogs shouldn’t chew on Benebones because it can cause tooth damage so I stopped buying them, but my Pom LOVED them and would have them all the time up until 3 months ago. I feel so guilty for not knowing sooner and just wanted to spread the word 😭
