Looking for autistics in Switzerland to connect with.

Hello, I am 22 years old and struggling with autism. I'm having issues bonding and connecting with people, so I am looking for other autistics that might feel the same in Switzerland.

My interests:

• music (esp. metal)

• books (science, warrior cats, classics)

• board games

• gaming (I'm not good due to dyspraxia, but I enjoy it)

• I love writing letters, gen. hand-writtng a lot things I enjoy

• going for walks

I have met autistic people, but often they were very high-energy and very emotional, this is not the kind of people I can interact very well. I am not a highly energetic person, I like to sit in nature and either read something or have a talk about different kinds of topics.

NEW APPARTMENT: NEED ADVICE

I am not a creative person and I am not gonna use AI for inspiration, so I am going to ask you:

What can I put to make this balcony cozy. The chairs will be gone, there's gonna be green garden chairs. The other table there will be removed, cat tree has to stay.

NEW APARTMENT: What kind of person am I, based on my interior design?

What kind of person do you think I am, based on my room.

I moved into my first appartment at the beginning on June, so there is still things I'd like to improve.

Give me tipps, if you have any. :)

DIGITAL MINIMALISM/FINDING PURPOSE/LIFE W/O DEEP CONNECTIONS?

Hail,

I’ve been trying to slowly step away from social media and live more intentionally.

The problem is that I’ve always struggled to form deep connections, ever since I was a kid. I’m someone who genuinely enjoys being alone, and I do know people through my local metal scene, but I don’t really have any strong or meaningful friendships, except one (which I really cherish and appreciate).

I’m learning how to find joy in doing things alone and for myself, but that’s also what makes leaving social media difficult for me. A part of me still longs for connection, to go out with someone, sit somewhere and read, have a drink together, or simply share small moments with another person.

I’m 22 and I'm struggling with ASD, which shapes how I experience the world and relationships. I sometimes wonder if that makes this harder, because even if I find connections, they bond with me, but I have troubles bonding with them, because it's as we are never on the same wave length.

Is anyone else in a similar situation? How do you balance wanting less digital noise while still craving human connection? Any advice would mean a lot. :)

I have things I like:

- Hiking/Walking

- Reading

- Writing

- Gaming

But sometimes there lacks the deeper purpose. Sure, I hike to find real joy, calmness and I'm doing something for my physical health.

I read to immerse myself into a deep, alternate world. Sometimes to learn different perspectives, but what do I do with the knowledge I gain from the books?

Writing: I write about bands, I thought about building a blog. I also work as a band promoter, maybe I can build something on this. - Generally, if I read classics before, I write philosophical texts often, but again... I have no one to share it with.

Gaming: Immerse myself into another world, to create and relax.

You know what I mean? I feel like, I don't know what to do with these things. If I cook something delicious, I'll eat it, find joy and pride, but I have no one to share it with.

Advice: small digital camera, low budget

I love going on walks and generally capture precious moments, but I don't want it to be my phone.

I need advice on digital cameras you can recommend. Just to capture future nostalgia, doesn't have to be anything high-tech.

Is anyone in Switzerland interested in (re-)readingWarrior Catstogether? 📚

I've been thinking about this for quite a while. We live in a world where social media feels like our new dictator, where companies are constantly trying to hijack our attention spans, but what if there were a group of people who'd just want to meet up when we have time, grab a drink, and read Warrior Cats together? ^^

I'm 22, based in Switzerland, and I speak both German and English. I read Warrior Cats in English, though I do have some German books too. - I live in the canton of Bern, I do have a GA to travel.

I've struggled a lot over the past few years because of my phone. I'm not the most social person, I find it hard to connect with people. And what's better than reading? You don't necessarily have to talk much and can still enjoy each other's company. 📚

Just dropping this post here, maybe there's some souls that are interested in it? If you wanna contact me, look up my profile on reddit and text me on instagram. 🫂

The Moment Everything Clicked

There is a version of ourselves deep inside that we wish to achieve. For me, it’s found in people who read constantly, maintain calm minds, create music in our local scene, or simply build things from nothing. - to create. I am turning 22 soon, having just moved into my first apartment and changed my diet to vegetarian, but I realized I was still stuck. The "unsportiest" person I could be started walking a minimum of 10,000 steps every day for five and a half weeks. Even when I had bad days, I went out anyway.

I adopted a cat on June 14th, and less than a week later, he walked away. The grief hit me so hard I wished I wouldn't see tomorrow's light. I drifted into that familiar void, only for my rational mind to kick in with a realization that this pain isn't a dead end, but the perfect catalyst to change. This is the moment I promised myself I would stop making excuses and finally become the person I wanted to be.

Confronting the Phone Problem

My main obstacle has always been the phone. It distracts me from the very moments I need to be present. While hiking up a mountain recently, I asked myself a question that I found a very clear answer “Would I do this if I didn't have my phone to post about it?” To break this cycle, I did something radical today, I bought a phone locker box. It seems insane to me, but it ensures that while I'm doing the things I enjoy, I physically can’t reach for the distraction. (What have we come to?)

Building a Life Beyond the Void

I need new hobbies to fill the space the phone used to take. My list includes hiking, gaming, reading, music, and writing. However, reality and life never goes as planed... after being beaten up in February and visiting the doctor, I learned both of my ACLs are torn. (One had been torn before, went to therapy, never had surgery tho) - Surgery is coming, and the hiking and walking I found so therapeutic are now off the table for a while. Instead of spiraling, I am building a plan for what to do while I am homebound... which won’t be easy and probably hurt me a lot.

Redefining Purpose

To guide this transition, I wrote down pages describing the "dream human" I want to become, no matter how unrealistic it sounds right now. I also defined my "perfect day." A helpful technique I discovered is writing tomorrow as if it has already happened, detailing how I achieved my goals before even waking up. I am learning to question the purpose of every action: Why am I doing this? What do I want to achieve? What is the intent behind my behavior?

The road ahead will be hard. Between recovery from surgery and the emotional weight of losing my cat, there will be difficult days. But I am done drifting. I am planning, I am acting, and I am ready to turn into the best version of myself, regardless of the circumstances.

Today I deleted Tiktok, because how many hours do I spend sitting on my couch and scroll? HOURS.

Last hike before surgery - Oeschinensee, Switzerland [19/06/26] 🏔🌿

In February, a man beat me up from behind at a train station. Remembering the stinging pain, I should’ve gone to the doctor, but instead I went home. When my mate and I tried to report it to the police, they laughed and said, “We can’t do anything anyway.” So I never went to the doctor until I recently moved out to change my life and turn hiking into a new hobby. It turns out he tore my ACL (my other ACL had been torn as well. I never had surgery, but went to physical therapy). I am unbelievably upset that I have two knees I’ll have to fix before I can start to actually hike. I will get surgery on one ACL + six months of rehab until I can start to hike, maybe I will wait one full year to fix my other ACL aswell. 🏔🌿

Before I have to get surgery for my ACL + 6 months rehab, I decided to visit Oeschine Lake and feel some peace and hugged the wind.

I adopted SMUDGE!

In January I posted under the name "Runetail", that I am going to adopt Smudge as soon as I have a new appartment.

It finally happened. 🤍🖤
