Today’s the day!

18 months of planning for a rooftop wedding in Los Angeles

A week ago it was over 100 and the worst freaking heat wave in a long time. I bought fans.

The temperature drops and today they predict rain, lol. We get tents.

The storm is called Hurricane Rachel. That’s my name 😂

I am confident there will be no rain tonight lol

But it’s here and happening, and I am waiting for my turn with makeup and a bunch of curls (and an excited and confused dog)

Good luck and vibes other October 10th brides and grooms 🤍

October 10 Bride Vent/Check

Truly for anyone getting married in just about a month!

For feeling so prepared and working so hard for a year and a half I feel like I have so much emotional drama until 10/10

I am grateful for all that has been done and one way or another we are gonna make it

My grandfather was diagnosed with a blood plasma cancer a month ago, so he and my grandmother aren’t going to be able to fly from DC to Los Angeles; and I can just stay panicked about him. I have no plan for how to share the ceremony or day with them despite the utter heartbreak that these two people who helped raise me can’t come.

My dad chose this moment to bring to the fore a fight we could’ve avoided. He won’t come because I didn’t invite his wife. His wife treats me like I’m not his child and also hit my brother and verbally abused my sister. My dad told me not to contact this woman for 6 years and said not to send mail to his house. Why would I invite her? Also he could have just said he couldn’t afford to come. It would’ve been an obvious lie, but I would’ve taken it over a question he knew the answer to.

The wedding is going to be smaller than I expected, I have so much shit to order, I am looking forward to the Monday after.

Jitlada for a birthday

Looking to take my guy out for dinner after a movie at The Chinese Theater for his birthday. He loves spicy food and I have heard so many recommendations for Jitlada.

As a person who likes Thai food but can’t tolerate the heat that I know he will enjoy, are there any mild dishes you can recommend? Also I know they don’t take reservations for 2; is the wait on a Saturday evening absurd?

Looking to figure out whether this will be a treat for him or something better saved for another day. Thanks!

Season 1 Episode 4: Sexy Dance Fighting

Burger 1 of 2 this weekend

It was a hit in our house.

I swapped the tomato in the goat cheese spread for red bell peppers because I can’t tolerate tomato (worked perfectly), swapped the Vienna rolls for Kaiser rolls because of the shape of the ones available at the store.

Served with steak fries and a little butter lettuce and spring mix salad with some Greek balsamic with honey, salt, pepper and olive oil.

His and hers!

I’d make this again most definitely.
