Sharp cough/hack

I have Lemon an orange short hair cat. We adopted him a little over a year and a half ago. He is around 6 or 7 estimated by the rescue vet. He was a TNR but they found he had a problem with inflammation on his paws so the rescue and their vet said he would be better in a home, and he was friendly and not feral.

Now my main question is does anyone else know what would cause a cat to cough or let out a sharp hack. It doesn't sound like a hair ball he has had those and they are different. I have taken him to the vet many times, he has had dental work and tried many medications. I have never been able to get it on camera it is very sudden and it seems to scare him, he runs when it happens. It does cause him to not want to eat sometimes. If he coughs while eating he will not come back to that spot to eat. I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Otherwise he is healthy I feel bad because it obviously bothers him but I can't fix it.

Learning to love intarsia

The Project Hail Mary cardigan is making me learn to love intarsia and to embrace the chaos of the process. I think coming from doing a lot of stranded work which is very focused on making sure you don't tangle the yarn it is hard to accept it will look messy until the very end.
