These guys should make a Love Island parody flick

These guys should make a Love Island parody flick

Throwing away a million dollar idea - make a comedy within the same reality structure as the show. There's so much material to satirize here and I've always thought the lonely island guys would nail it.

Ridley needs to park his a** in video village and finish the Prometheus trilogy!

I don't care that you hated these movies, they were incredible and David needs his trilogy complete.

Treasure Island with Hugh Jackman? Gimme a break..

Random vocal stims you have.

Gen Z has memes but millennials/Gen x MUST have some vocal stims from movies.

Vocal stim: the repetition of sounds, words, or phrases using the mouth, lips, or vocal cords.

War of the Worlds (2005) "there's something down there, and it's moving"

Prometheus (2012) "we were so wrong"

Any good ones??

Bams a slapstick genius

Just an appreciation post for his physicality and commitment. Would put him on par with Chris Farley or Chevy Chase in terms of slapstick comedy. Always hams it up. Even noticed it in his very brief Jackass Forever moment on the treadmill.

Underappreciated sequels.

"you're a tourist in your own youth"

I've always loved T2 Trainspotting and I feel it doesn't get talked about much. Glad CR goes to bat for it from time to time. I'm also just a sucker for Danny Boyle and well executed, passage of time resolving tension in film, True Detective season one comes to mind.

Any other underappreciated sequels?

Has anyone successfully pitched male vocals to sound like female vocals?

I'm experimenting with vocals and I'm just wondering if there's a proper pipeline WITHIN ABLETON to make male vocals sound like female vocals. I'm an amateur here playing around with pitch and warp settings but it's sounding like the chipmunks. Any suggestions? No ai or plugins please, thanks in advance.

edit: thanks for all the tips y'all, much appreciated

"I don't want to direct. I'm a writer. I like writing. I could have directed years ago if I wanted to."

Entourage Season 6, Episode 8, "The Sorkin Notes" (2009)

Just a line from Entourage I'm remembering. I understand this was a scripted show. Sorkin plays himself. What do you think changed?

Sean said a prominent film figure compared Obsession with Easy Rider...

I mean I guess? Why are we so bemused by this. A bunch of teens found an excuse to get out of their parents house to go see a film they can gossip and gasp over. Older generations were just curious. The hype churns out more. I don't get the mystery here.

Not knocking on the movie but the discourse is all a bit hyped. The same thing happened with Paranormal Activity in 2007.

This is 40 has aged poorly.

This is 40 (2012)

Seems like a fever dream of hope. What a lovely comfort epic that's now out of reach.

In the words of a lonely variety store clerk, "fuck my life".

Late to the party and I'm laughing throughout

The Drama (2026)

Some people laugh during tense, serious situations. I'm one of those people. I'm laughing at this movie. It's great. Was it funny for most people?

So curious about how this release will go

Seeing how well Michael Jackson's biopic is doing I think it's safe to say these are going to be massive hits, unless their current release strategy fails.

Do we know the order of release for each film? Do you think they're questioning releasing them separately? How close will the releases be? How will they all tie into one another? Very curious.

You have one note you can give before a film of your choice begins production. What is it?

Wouldn't waste it on this but I was thinking of the Passengers rewrite everyone did when it came out. Does anyone have a good one?

Has anyone kept up with The Treatment?

The Treatment with Elvis Mitchell

I used to listen to it years ago but stopped for whatever reason. I remember Mitchell having incredible insight, often surprising whoever he had on.
