Can I get a sanity check on this 16e scenario

So my mom and brother have a shared plan on cricket for the last few years. His I phone se (2nd gen) is shitting itself finally and all he does is use communications and gps so a 16e makes sense for the $0 promo. The issue is he is stubborn and doesn’t want to change his number. My partner already has a 16 (non e) but we were planning to bring her device as a new line to cricket asap.

If I order the 16e with her number to enable the BYOL deal, will her phone number defer to the 16e IMEI automatically? Or can she immediately just begin cricket service on her 16, and have the 16e shipped to my brother to then switch his current line onto.

Got a traffic ticket for expired registration the day before I relocated the car to a new state

location: California

I moved out of California in December 2025 and left a car at my mom’s house because it’s a convertible and it was snowing in my new location. I came back to visit and arrange for car transport to ship it out of state in June 2026, and I had moved the registration to non-op a few months prior because nobody was driving it.

Well unfortunately I forgot about the registration and drove the car the day before pickup by the transport truck. Got pulled over on the freeway and CHP just gave me a fix it ticket which would be $25 plus proof of correction, or $290 fine and admission of guilt.

If I register the car in the new state, and show registration to the DMV / police in California would that count towards proof of correction? The other issue is the soonest I would be able to travel back to California is August and I don’t know what the deadline is to respond to this citation. The officer marked “to be notified” and “TBD” on the respond by date, and I haven’t received anything.

is the eco flow smart home panel 2 a decent value auto transfer switch?

I’ve had my eye on finally diying a solar + big battery pack for home power for a few years but living situation never really enabled it. I have a 40kwh pack of ~2015 era a123 lifepo4 in a storage unit out of state, and I have an eco flow delta pro 3.6kwh battery + inverter (non ultra or ultra x).

I know ecoflow is generally considered overpriced for diy but I got it for like $600 local from where I used to live, and I needed it to power heat lamps during a cross country move with pets. So I’m not married to the ecoflow product line at all, but it may be more cost effective to prioritize a transfer switch that is compatible since it’s 3.6kw output should be suitable for the necessities I would like to power when grid power is down (well pump, fridge, 120v outlets in specific rooms).

We recently bought our first home on a few acres in an area that seems to have a tree take a power line out every time there’s a thunderstorm. Like 48 hours without power over a handful of days just this month. Unfortunately there is no transfer switch yet so we need to pay for that.

So if any of you would like to offer input, I’m wondering what the best value automatic transfer switch is while being compatible with the ecoflow delta pro or another setup that I could get started with a 3-5kwh backup under ~4k usd. I’m very open to buying into another brand’s ecosystem because I would eventually like to put up 3-8kw of secondhand solar panels and invest in more battery packs (or bring my battery pack from out of state) but I am only envisioning to live here for 5-6 years.

A soda machine repairman reveals what the tubing inside soda fountains looks like at the majority of fast-food restaurants. “This comes from your soda fountains. Water, syrup, and sugar create this bacteria, which feeds on that buildup.”
