My thoughts on Kamen Rider Agito episode 7 A Piece of a Memory

This was an ok episode. not bad but to me not as impressive as the earlier episodes.

Soo, We learn Mana's dad died and for some reason, he's in Shoichi's memories implying he may have caused his demise. A interesting idea the show is doing since you wouldn't really expect Shoichi to do something so bad considering his nature, yet again we have no idea what he was like before he lost his memories.

The monster for this episode is really cool, love the crow theme and I really like the detail of the top half of his face kinda being based on those old aviator caps. Also the laughs kinda sound like sickly coughing a bit. Wonder if that was on purpose to invoke plague doctor imagery?

Really like Hikawa, love how even if he doesn't have the G3 suit he'll still find a way to fight the monsters, also respect to Ozawa for standing up for him. But man that smile Toru gives Hikawa before he enters the room infuriates me.

I do find it interesting that Shoichi pretty much told Hikawa that he's Agito. Kinda find it weird that Hikawa didn't really pick up what Shoichi was implying

Now big question of the episode is why did Tokusatsu Damian take Ryo? No theories sadly

I think the reason this episode feels like a small downgrade is because it switches between all three characters a bit too quickly in my opinion and besides the Ryo being taken and the mystery of Shoichi's memories it feels like there wasn't a clear focus. Thats all just my opinion but I do feel like if we focused a bit more on Shoichi's memories it would have helped the episode

Sooo Agito lost this fight, kinda surprised actually, it does cut between the fight and Mana wondering about her dad and Shoichi. Maybe on some level Shoichi is being burdened with the leftovers of this memory and that is affecting him? Will be interesting to see going forward

What is an american remake of a J Horror film that you think failed

For me, I really dislike The American Ring, It just tried way to hard to be scary too much of the time. The green Filter they used for the film I get what they were doing with that but it just looks ugly. The random Horse death was not needed and was only added for shock value

And the look they gave the people who get taken out by the curse just looks goofy to me. And they did the tape so badly here.

I really feel like the film didn't understand what made the original so effective as a horror film. In that it built the dread up for the audience towards that final scare scene.

Speaking of, the glitchy effects just don't suit the scare scene in the American version at all. its kinda distracting

My idea for a Kamen Rider series

Im still thinking of Power Ranger Pharaoh Guard but I had a idea for a Kamen Rider series

My idea is that the setting would be a world inspired by Victorian London

Main character Abraham Jones aka Kamen Rider Hellsing. A disgraced hunter who is on a path of redemption not only for his sins, but the sins of his family.

Villain group. Poe Syndicate . A secret organization who aims to disrupt the order of the city in order to create in their minds a dreadful story that will outlive all the years to come.

The monsters are called the Dreadfuls. They are minions to the Poe Syndicate who have made a dark deal in order to gain their monster forms. They'd be inspire by Gothic monsters and literature. The name comes from Penny Dreadfuls

My thoughts on The Pit and the Pendulum with Vincent Price

I really did like this film. Vincent Price is the crowning star in this film

Vincent does a fantastic job in portraying the broken soul that is Nicholas. The way he uses his eyes to show terror, confusion, grief is just amazing. You feel for him through out with what he feels. The grief he feels at the loss of his wife, the guilt he bears for his father's sins. Vincent really knew how to make this character connect to the audience. When his mind finally snaps at the end and he believes he is his father hurts to witness because you know this isn't the Nicholas we've seen throughout the film. But again props to Price for playing two different sides of a character in ways that feel distinct.

The sets are just works of art really. The chambers below the castle just scratch that gothic itch. They feel old and unused with how dusty they look and the build up of cobwebs

Now onto the part I don't like, The twist that Elizabeth was actually alive and worked with the doctor to drive Nicholas to madness. Main reason I don't like this twist is because the film's story would have had more weight if it was left more to the imagination. Was Nicholas imagining it all or was it actually a wrathful spirit? That to me works far better then the twist we got in this film.

I will admit, while I don't like the twist, that scene of Elizabeth rising from her coffin was creepy.

I've been going down memory lane of watching Courage The Cowardly Dog. And I enjoy it so much more now that I'm more well versed in the Horror genre

I think this show introduced a lot of people to the genre, and I'm currently 8 episodes in and It just brings a big smile to my face.

Courage is so much more talkative then I remember. I always just remember him making his random noises and mainly talking to make the or my name is blank joke.

Now understanding the Demon Mattress episode is a parody of the Exorcist just makes me love that bit more.

The Freaky Fred episode is in the first season. I swear this segment still creeps me out, Its wild to me they had one of their creepiest characters in the first season.

Also a lot of the times on the tv they are showing real black and white movies. I assume they are public domain movies but if anyone knows what movies are showing on the tv in the show I'd like to know

8 episodes into Courage the Cowardly Dog season 1 and man it brings me so much joy

I forgot how funny the show was with the humor and crazy animations and fourth wall breaks.

I never realized how talkative Courage was in this show's first season.

Also, THE FREAKY FRED EPISODE IS IN THE 1ST SEASON?! That thing still creeps me out.

I also love the show more because of the fact I'm more well versed in the horror genre. It makes things like the Demon Mattress episode stand out more in knowing now its a Exorcist parody

My thoughts on Kamen Rider Kabuto episode 8 Angry Tofu

Fun episode with not much to make theories on

Really dislike Kagami here with his attitude towards Tendo and way he has been acting since Yagurama showed up. Just feels like he's throwing away his character to impress someone he finds cool.

I do like Yagurama, I like that we see he cares for his team and wants to make one of them feel better after getting hurt. I am interested in the end why he seems so angry about Tendo after Tendo defeats the Worm, maybe this Harmony stuff is very rigid for him and he seesTendo as a threat to that thing he holds dear? Or maybe it has something to do with this Mishima character who may be boss of ZECT

That final scenes of TheBee and Kabuto fighting with the sun in the background was gorgeous film work. Like its so stunning to see the lighting and shadows used for this scene

I do like how Tendo still tried to share Tofu even though he clearly doesn't like Yagurama. Just a detail that shows he isn't that petty

What's a horror franchise you've accepted will never come back

I've accepted Nightmare on Elm Street will never come back. Mainly due it being a hard sell now a days and the fact Robert is the face of the franchise. I just don't see them being able to really replace him as Freddy in a way that will appease everyone

my thoughts on Kamen Rider Agito Episode 6 Sorrowful Monstrous Fist

Honestly, this was a great episode.

One thing I wanted to point out that I've seen with the opening so far is how we see our riders going down that road on their bikes, Shoichi and Hikawa have people seeing them or them going past as they ride while Ryo has no one, I feel like that is really good visuals in telling how the characters are. Shoichi and Hikawa have valued friends or family they can rely on while Ryo feels alone, like he may not be able to rely on anyone or if he tries they won't help.

Speaking of Ryo. I feel really bad for him, his ex becomes afraid of him but he fully understands why, I think even the audience can understand why. I don't think Mayumi hates him, she's just afraid and doesn't want to be in a world full of danger. I honestly think it says a lot about his character in that he lets her go instead of trying to get her to stay. he cares more for her safety then his own feelings and while it may hurt he believes this is best. Is what Mayumi said to him harsh? Yes but you can understand where she's coming from.

Speaking of, Ryo's Rider form is great, it feels more threatening and animal like. The green evokes a insect like attribute mixed with the sharpness of his bladed weapons. The fact when he is angry he acts even more like a animal even biting the monster really does a good job of portraying this form as something he's scared of. The fact we don't see him henshin but instead this form walk up beside him after he tells the monster it will never hurt Mayumi again? Just visually great, the crows flapping about is just icing on the cake telling the viewer that this monster about to get wrecked.

So we learn Hikawa was apart of the Akatsuki incident where he rescued a bunch of people but one who went missing. My theory is the one who went missing is Shoichi since we know he washed up on a beach.

Toru, I grow more irritated with how smug you looked at the end of saying Hikawa only got the G3 unit cause it was a bribe.

Soo Scientist lady went to shadow realm. Tokusatsu Damian did not like that and had the monster send herself to shadow realm for sending scientist lady to shadow realm. The chant like music whenever he is on screen really makes me think he's like the monsters god or something.

IMDB 9 stars.

Also if anyone knows the scientist lady's name in the show please tell me, I feel bad for forgetting

My thoughts on Kamen Rider Zeztz episode 34 Infiltrate

Great episode!

Hearing Baku call him Zeztz the Invincible Agent feels so earned, after all the struggle he's been through he's earned that title. He also has gained so much power for one he can now enter dreams while awake! Seeing him do a heel tap then fall into the nightmare was so slick I just love his growth in this series

Minami seeing the aftermath of what all Baku did to come back to life just brought a tear to my eye, it really shows how far he went to come back is just urghh its so good.

That fight between Baku and Sieg was top tier, its two ideals clashing to the bitter end. Baku finally being able to hold his own against Sieg is just great to watch. Everything about the fight was amazing, to the brutal nature of Sieg's attacks to baku using everything in the dream to his advantage . Baku basically being in control of the dream, making scenes happen to appear to Sieg like Sieg was winning was just urgh perfect. We also get time travel with the Rider Kick to happen before the two kicks clash was amazing

Sieg dies, but even in the end he seems to have found some enjoyment in the fight. It was great to see Sieg's character in these episodes he's been in. And honestly i'm glad he went out as a pure evil villain. Even when given a chance to give up he still wouldn't. He really was the dark mirror to Baku

The out of suit fight the two had was great as well, it was brutal and again felt like two ideals clashing

That nightmare design was scary looking! its laugh legit sent chills down my back

Exdream form is amazing, its simple in design with the reds and golds popping and evoking a dream of victory. the song used for its battle with Sieg was amazing

The Benders Episode of Supernatural is such a good spooky episode

I think it clearly being inspired by Texas Chainsaw massacre works really well mixed with the fact we don't get any actual supernatural elements. Making the horror stand out even more. The Bender house being so messy and having bone decorations just gives me that Texas Chainsaw massacre aesthetic .

I also like how the episode highlights that despite the crazy creatures and monsters Sam and Dean face, humans are in some ways worse then what they face.

Also, Am I dumb or is the family's name in this episode taken from the Bender family from 1870s?

Now I can get into the new Kamen Rider's design. Who is called TheBee. I really love the design details of the shoulder armor being the wings and the chest piece of being a Wasp abdomen with a stinger. Its just design details like that that really make the motif work well and pop

The Worm in this episode's design is really interesting, I love how the purple and orange evoke a toxic aura to it. I also really like that the two Worms have different colored arm weapons to help the audience tell them apart.

Its so weird seeing Kagami gush over Yaguruma. It honestly kinda annoyed me how he told Tendo to not get involved now that they have their own Rider. Considering how much Tendo has helped take out the worms you'd think he would act a bit better, this coming after he tried to rescue Tendo in the previous episode just kinda makes what he said more annoying

The Cooking battle was funny, but I do like the fact it shows that Tendo sticks to what he says. . Even though Yaguruma offers half the Tofu Tendo still sticks to what he says about the bet. Gotta respect that.

Will say, its a nitpick. But why is Kamen Rider TheBee Wasp themed? Like I know its silly but it kinda bothers me he don't have a better name that suits the theme

Also, Now ZECT actually got a win. I really did like the action in this episode along with the fact the ZECT troopers did better then just being well pretty much the foot soldiers who lose

A pretty good episode that has me asking one question

First off. the way the monsters dispatch people just keeps getting more horrifying. 1st we have being stuffed into trees, 2nd buried underground and now falling out the sky? These guys are just vicious.

I really like the Cobra monster we get, the ancient Egyptian markings just make the monster feel more ancient.

The artifact pretty much created Damian from the Omen, thats best way I can describe it right now.

So we see a female snake monster, is she the Lady Scientist who's name I can't remember? Sorry that I can't remember, but Tokusatsu Damian was stalking her, Agito fights Cobra monster then this female shows up. Am I dumb for thinking she's the scientist?

The comedy in this episode made me laugh quite a bit mostly from the like sound effects. Also Shoichi may not be brightest bulb in the shed but he gets really dumb upon seeing Mayumi. Who is the Ex? to Ryo, I'm really wondering why Wyo seems to be trying to get away from everything.

Also, Toru is getting on my nerves more. The way he just has these sly jabs at Hikawa annoys me. I don't see you actually fighting the monsters as much as him mr I'm better then everyone else!

This was one fantastic episode.

Sieg just continues to prove to be like the Joker in so many ways. Here Nem is the dreamer and he's using this chance to turn real life people in her dreams into nightmares in the real world all while pretty much treating it like a game show. The writers and Actor has done a truly fantastic job in making him be a truly evil villain you grow to hate.

Baku, I mean this was a fantastic episode in showing why I love his character. He embodies what it really means to be a hero, despite his Driver not working, despite his capsems not working fully. He still stands up and fights against the nightmares even when hurt beyond words. Even if it means just tackling them to push them away he still tries to protect others. I'm not ashamed to admit I teared up when we see the Nightmare well hit him in the gut with a spike. And even while dying he tries to fight back. It is amazing and heartbreaking at the same time.

It gets honestly better, in his subconscious he tries his best to fix the Driver. Spending well years in that state to fix it. Having people he knows tell him to give up or that its pointless or to accept that he's dead. he just continues to chant I won't give up. Its beautiful writing

The tear that runs down Minami's eye hurts after she says Baku, you're dead. Her screams after he falls to the ground just are gut wrenching.

And good lord. the scream Nem lets out after Sieg says is he dead honestly hurt me a lot. It feels so raw and realistic to what someone would do when they learn someone they care about has died

All this build up to him being able to fix the Driver and gaining Exdream form. I will hold off my thoughts on this form till we see it fully in action

Not really much to analyze but I really do like the character moments we get.

I honestly just love Tendo's character. I think this episode really highlights that despite the cool and collected demeanor he has. He loves deeply and cares deeply. Like sure he's cool and a great fighter but the moments where he shows he cares really make me like him.

Him using his phone call to make sure his sister doesn't worry, trying to make Hiyori feel better and saying he'll get her that one of a kind Tulip is just so good. He's being held against his will and his main concern is to make sure is sister is ok and make sure Hiyori feels better is just such a great way to show his character

Kagami also shines, going against ZECT to try and rescue Tendo despite them not really being friends really shows that he cares more about the right thing instead of some secret organization.

So 2 things. at end the leader of I'm assuming ZECT talks about how elephants despite being loving creatures, will kick others out to protect the herd. I really am confused on what this is supposed to mean so if anyone has insights I'd like to hear it.

And a new rider appears!? With a bee or wasp motif, love how the yellow pops against the night and how the mask's pattern actually looks like a wasp or bee's face

Juka saying their grandma once said even when not close physically. I'm closer then normal legit made me tear up. Its such a neat way of saying even if I'm not with you I'll always be with you in spirit.

Tendo having a tulip show up on Toku tower just to keep his promise to Hiyori is so sweet and wholesome. I really feel like he may have been like her at one point and is trying to help her out of her shell more.

Overall i really enjoyed this episode mostly for the focus on the characters, I'm a sucker for well written characters and so far the characters feel so real

Liked this one quite a bit. The series so far has been a bit slow but I don't mind it

Toru is getting on my nerves with his attitude towards Hikawa. It just gives off a I know better than everyone else vibe, not saying he's a bad character its just something that at the moment annoys me but maybe that'll change.

Hikawa finally got a win! was starting to get worried by how many losses he was taking, joking aside I really do like how simple the action feels it just feels more grounded.

So the monsters are just straight up evil, I mean the actions they take just feel sinister and the fact when they are defeated nothing returns to normal just means the things they do have much more impact.

Soo we learn the artifact is able to create life. I'm telling you the more we learn the more questions I have bout the purpose of this artifact

I'm wondering how Shoichi is able to control himself so quick when before he didn't?
