Fictional woman for whom it's a red flag to hate

I'll go first. Carol from Pluribus. I genuinely don't think people who hate her are capable or willing to empathize with women

Edit: Forgot to put the woman from Breaking Bad in this post yes she's the obvious one

Went on a date and her Spotify search history had podcast episodes about how to have lesbian sex

If she was more my type it would have been incredibly endearing

Gacha Character Kits Be Like

Gacha players get a bad reputation for being illiterate, but with so much jargon, is it really a surprise that people just go and watch a three-minute YouTube video instead?

“While in the Zibblezog State, every 3rd Normal Attack creates a Gabloog-” yeah, yeah, I ain’t reading all that.

Got these at a thrift store for $6

This random thrift shop with a rotting sign on the side of a 6 lane 45mph road was carrying these classics. Very excited to read them

Books banned statewide in Utah and South Carolina

"Utah’s State Board of Education released a list of 13 books to be banned in every public school across the state. [...] HB 29 is one of the most extreme book banning laws currently in effect. The law mandates statewide bans, and has resulted in the first instance of a state releasing an official list of books that are illegal to stock on school shelves."

"South Carolina now leads the nation in the number of state-mandated school book bans, surpassing Utah. [...] Under the statewide book-banning rule enacted in 2024, Regulation 43-170, the State Board of Education can ban books without reading them."

The full list of banned titles, between both states, for meeting the criteria of obscene or pornographic, is below:

What do you think of sending one last big rant text to an ex-friend or lover

Sometimes I see screenshots of breakups over text where someone writes a 5 paragraph essay with an implied mic drop at the end, but you never really hear about what comes after. I kind of assume the person on the receiving end uses those texts to prove that person is "crazy."

I wrote about three tastefully angry paragraphs that I was planning on sending to an ex-friend, starting with "I've been reflecting a little bit. I doubt there's any correct combination of words that will ever make you care about how I feel, so I'll just go with this. Being friends with you genuinely made me feel bad about myself and having known you makes me want to know other people less." Then I imagined her screenshotting it and sending it to her friends, all laughing about how crazy I look, and I realized I was just handing her a tool to hurt me one last time. Anyway, anyone ever send a big final text? Was it worth it?

Edit: I listened. Wrote it all out, didn't send it, and blocked her. I do feel better.

A copy of one of my miis appeared on the island with a distorted face? Has anyone else had this happen?

They seem to be getting along, at least.

Do you think they'll make events centering old sinners any time soon?

This might be an unpopular opinion, but it's hard to really care about any new sinners that release anymore. I really enjoyed Clementine and Forensica's event, but my thought at the end of it was "Well, guess they're gone forever." I love Hilda and her event is one of my all-time favorites, but we haven't seen her since her event, and probably won't see her again at all. I wish they would just stick to a cast and make new events for them, instead of constantly putting out one-and-done characters. Maybe they could make alternate versions of old sinner's kits with alternate base outfits to still incentivize people to pull and build new teams. There's 144 characters, I think that's enough. Do you think this could happen? People love Nella, so I hope they lean more into reworking old characters.

Anyone else get intense deja vu from dreams?

About half a dozen times in my life I get this staggering sense of deja vu when I go somewhere and realize I've been there in a dream before. But it always looks a little different in real life. What's up with that?

RE: Lesbian Club

I mentioned I was starting a club on my campus for lesbians. Per campus rules, I can't explicitly exclude non-lesbians, because all clubs have to be open to all students, so I've been going over conversations in my head to discourage these people (most likely bisexual women) when they inevitably show up. HR isn't my strong suit--I'm too honest. "This is a space meant to be for a minority that does not have any representation or spaces for us. Our experiences deserve their own space. If you insist on being here, please be mindful of the space you're taking up." I feel like this is too passive-aggressive. How would you say it? There is a real risk of getting my club shut down if some woman with a boyfriend complains that I am excluding her on the basis of sexuality, so I have to be careful.

Also! What would a cute club name be? I feel like everything I'm coming up with is way too obvious. I think a name like "lesbian club" is super boring, even if it is to the point. I like violets and lavender as symbols of lesbianism and think it would be nice to include them in the name somehow. I think Carmilla is a great classic story if I wanted to get more literary with it. What's a name you would feel drawn to?

Would you join a lesbian club?

After being annoyed at how there are zero (0) places for lesbians in my liberal city, I decided I will register a club at my university for lesbians. But like... What do I do? Would you go to a "lesbian craft night" or "lesbian chess night"? Is this a stupid idea? I'm so worried I'll set this all up just for no one to show up.

Got bored and scanned all my trinkets. Discovered that my swan glows!

It seems to be uranium glaze. Yet another reason to love this swan. The pink part also gets extra vibrant, does anyone know what material or pigment might be causing that?
