I'm a big cyclist, and when I met Jeffrey Miller, and heard his story about why he founded "Ontario's most difficult gravel race" (the Voyageur 200) in North Bay, I was surprised that more people didn't know about this race, and what it stands for. So, I wrote about it. Hope it's cool if I share.
My wife and I started our visit to the Quebec Maritimes Region by stopping in Rimouski at sunset. That boardwalk that runs along the St. Lawrence is just beautiful. We snapped a few photos to capture the experience.
My wife and I decided to check out Otter Pointe Resort, about 30 minutes outside North Bay. The owners are two young folks who took a gamble to make this place something special, so wanted to take a moment to share a few photos to support what they're building there!
We decided to get the heck out of Toronto and head to where the air is a little fresher. We stayed at the Finch, and just wanted to say that it’s a great local business that we’re awfully happy we chose.
Kayaking around Saysutshun! Someone recommended this, and we ended up doing a tour with a fellow from the Netherlands who has moved here and runs "Island Romer Adventures." If I lived here, I'd have my own kayak, but this was a cool way to get out on the water despite that.
My wife and I just started exploring Nanaimo, but we love the quirky and creative vibe here. Being from Toronto, the natural beauty certainly doesn't hurt either, haha. Thanks to all the local business owners who have been super friendly as well.
One thing I couldn't get over when visiting -- how quickly you could be in an area like the Shipyards, then all of a sudden, you're at a place like the Capilano Suspension Bridge. I know it can be a bit pricey there, generally speaking, but it was cool to check off the bucket-list!
