How to learn about other champions to play around them better as a jungler?

So if you're a laner then you can just go into practice tool and play around with like your top 5 most common matchups to better understand their kit. This can help you better play around cool downs and overall have a better understanding of how they work.

But as a jungler...I dont have a 1v1. Sure there is another jungler to worry about but im not often facing them 1v1 or 2v2. Im also in every lane all the time which has an extremely high number of possible champions.

I have dabbled in other lanes a most of the viable junglers so I kind of know a little bit about a handful of champions, but I dont feel like going into practice tool and using every single champ for like 5 minutes each would be a very productive use of my time nor do I think that would be all that effective.

So how do I, as a jungler, better learn about other champs? Just playing over time? Or would grouping them into categories be useful? Like "these champs are assassins so I should play around them like this, but these champs are mages so I need to do that" with perhaps a smaller category for champs that sort of break the mold and need to be thought about differently?

If that makes any sense at all.

What to do with early tempo pre level 6?

Picked up Ivern for jungle and tried him out for the first time in some bot games. His clear speed is awesome, but idk what to do with my time. I have so much time before scuttle spawns, but I also dont have my ult so I dont feel super useful for ganks. I thought about invading but without Daisy I feel like I just lose the 1v1.

What are yall doing with all that tempo?

How important is it to be on time for scuttle?

I cant do it. I have tried and tried. I havent given up but i cant get under 3 minutes, let alone 2:55. 3:02, 3:10, 3:17...ive gotten advice from many people. I pay for coaching. I watch vods and guides, yes whatever one you're thinking of ive seen it. I cant do it.

I am in iron now, dropped from bronze. Ive bounced back and forth a couple of times and I honestly think the two biggest factors are champ mastery because I'm having a hard time picking a main and not being able to clear on time.

I am hoping that its possible to climb and fix my clear as I go because honestly sitting in practice tool for over an hour just trying to kite camps correctly is killing me. Its destroying the fun of the game. Doing it over and over and over and over just to see 3:10 when pop the last krug...I wanna chuck my mouse across the room.

I love everything else about jungle. Its the role for me. But I cant clear. I dont know why. Do I HAVE to get my clear under 3 minutes? Assuming its possible with the champion but the only one ive played that cant do it i think is Rek'sai. Just imagine how slow my clear on her must be...I dont even want to know.

I guess you can offer clear advice if you want but I dont think it will be anything I havent already heard tbh.

Do easy champs feel like "cheating" to anyone else?

I say cheating simply for lack of a better term. Basically, I switched to Jax and I started winning normals. A lot. I havent taken him into ranked yet so maybe it will be a different story there, but he just feels so strong. Like I feel like I dont get punished as hard for mistakes but if an enemy makes a mistake and I catch them they're dead.

Coming from a champ I had like 30%win rate on and that made me feel like I had no idea what i was doing 90% of the time and that was useless without followup from team mates...it feels pretty good ngl.

But...this is exactly why I've been avoiding super strong champions. I feel like the champion itself is carrying me and I worry I'm not actually learning anything. Like am I winning because im making good macro decisions? Are my mechanics just good? Or am I just an unkillable dps machine the enemy doesnt know how to deal with?

Is this LoLs version of imposter syndrome?

Why not Fleet Footwork?

So with phase rush gone obviously you gotta pick a new keystone. From what im seeing on build sites people are going with Conqueror. That seems fine. But why conq over fleet feet?

He scales with move speed and is already moving around a lot and 100 stacks gives you even more ms. It just seems like a positive feedback loop to me, plus it has a heal attached just like conq does.

So im very curious as to what makes conq the better choice here when both give you access to the precision tree.

Alternatively, why not Stormraiders? I know its not as good as phase rush, but anything that gives move speed seems viable to me in theory. Plus you have access to the entire sorcery tree, which means you can use nimbus, Celerity, and water walking instead of just 2 of them.

I did search for fleet footwork in thr sub but the most recent pist was from 7 months ago when phase rush was still the best in town.

How about now though?

Is it normal to have a rough patch in the learning process?

So I decided to main Sejuani. Im also a new player, just started in january. So I am expecting difficulties. Thats fine.

But im feeling this kind of back and forth with the learning process if that makes sense. It was definitely difficult at first, but then I got into this groove where I felt like I kind of knew what i was doing even if I wasnt winning games.

But now I feel like I just flat out suck. I have no clue what im doing, im missing my skill shots, im dying left and right, I dont know what calls to make, it feels like my champion isn't doing what I want her to do.

I'm really struggling with not knowing if the champion is the problem. Shes not like an A or S tier which i know doesnt hold a ton of weight but still.

Idk I just feel like I either have no idea what's gling on and am totally floundering or im just kind of doing stuff and winning somehow.

Is it just me? Is Sejuani a bad champion? Is she bad to learn on maybe? Just looking for similar experiences i guess. Like did you go through a phase of doing so poorly you questioned your choice in champion? Did you stick with it until it worked or did you switch and suddenly find way more success? How do I know what the right call is?

Is it possible to just move files?

When I downloaded some stuff like League of Legends and Overwolf It all went here, to C. But now I'm out of space. Can I move these programs to D or do I have to uninstall and reinstall?

I've tried the obvious like right clicking and looking for a "move to" option as well as clicking and dragging. Right click options only let me move to "one drive" which is not D and idk what it is or what it's for, I never use it. And click and drag just makes a copy of the file on D and doesn't actually move it.

Shes getting some monster damage buff so it seems like riot wants her in the jungle. Fine by me. I decided to try it out after I heard the news and, well, her clear sucks. The extra monster damage is sorely needed. But if it speeds up enough then I think she'll be good. Her kit is great and her W would be so useful as a jungler.

What do you guys think? Excited to try her? Feel like the buffs aren't enough?

I dont really want any of the skin options provided tbh. Its all champs I dont really play anymore and I actively dislike 2 of them and am iffy on the third. I'll probably buy at least one so I have it if I pick up the champ again, but like...id rather have a one time reroll option to try for something more up my alley. I've been waiting and waiting since the last one and I was SO excited to see what id get (bought almost every single one last time), but when I saw them i was just...underwhelmed and disappointed :/

Obviously im not expecting a detailed list of matchups but im trying to figure out the best direction to path based on matchups and I think I get it wrong a lot.

I know ranged is typically less volatile, but I have like...bot lane with ashe on my team and sivir on the other and then top lane is malphite on our team and Quinn on theirs, where am I supposed to go? The mix of ranged and melee confuses me. I guess I just go bot by default?

I think to sum it up im wondering what questions do I ask myself to determine which lane is the better option, and what do I do if I dont know if a champion is ranged or melee or what they do?

Off the top of my head, Orianna comes to mind. Shes usually a mid laner but I think ive seen her as support before. Idk what she does or how she works or if shes ranged or melee technically. And if I wanted to I could go look it up right now but I may not even remember by the time I see her again and I dont always have time to review her whole kit before the match starts, you know?

In the interest of just understanding how things work and what certain phrasings mean when im looking at items, I'm trying to understand if DND and HS work together or not.

DND applies on hits twice, HS has an on hit effect. However, the ability of heartsteel is that is put 3 stacks on an enemy champion and then consumes them on hit to deal extra damage and give you permanent bonus health.

If you have both, does DND:

A. Apply the result of the consumption twice, dealing the bonus damage and gaining the bonus health twice for the same hit

B. Fail because it wants to proc heartsteel a second time and cannot because the 3 stacks have already been consumed

The wording of these items makes it a bit unclear to me even after looking them up on the wiki. I *assume* the answer is B because I dont ever see these items built together, but I wanted to make sure.

Like, the normal experience is around a 50% win rate if you kind of know what you're doing, but getting there is a journey.

Im trying to understand if I'm actually improving at all or just lucky sometimes. I had a 3 game win streak that made me feel invincible. My team was great, I felt very impactful, I made some good calls, and we won. Awesome. Really felt like I knew what I was doing.

And then came the loss streak...8 of the last 9 games. Just getting absolutely stomped into the ground. Zero agency. Can't even farm (jungle) because the enemy is always right on top of me. Losing objectives left and right, every lane losing in the first 5 minutes, tops and adcs going 0/6...

It makes me feel like ive learned nothing at all. I dont understand what im doing right or wrong and it just feels like I only win if thr enemy jungler makes HUGE mistakes I can punish. If they have any amount of competence I'm just immediately outplayed and behind the entire game.

How do I know if I'm improving or if my wins are just luck/getting carried?

So I'm a jungle main, but I'm trying to prepare for getting autofilled so that I'm not just floundering. I usually pick support as my secondary role anyway so I figured I should get serious about my champions.

My main is Sejuani and I plan to use her as a tank/engage support because she's got tons of cc, a dash, and decent damage.

My second pick for support would be Soraka. I really love her kit and enjoy playing her, but obviously she's way different, which I think is a good thing. And that's it, that's all I want for my pool for support because I don't want to have too many support champs impeding on my jungle champs.

So then I just need to know when it's appropriate to pick one over the other. Who prefers an enchanter over a tank? Or, maybe, what questions do I ask myself when I see an adc in champ select to figure out which support I want to pick?

My pillow is his bed. My head is his pillow. How is he so freaking cute? Hiw is he simultaneously the most chaotic, mean, finicky, sweet, loving, cuddly little dog ive ever known? Hes the youngest of our 4 heelers and by far the most insane. He will decide he doesn't want you to touch him or even look at him amd growl at you if you try, but 10 seconds later hes wigglin and wagglin and rubbing up on you for loves and cuddles.

Hes so crazy. I love him so much.

u/fairydommother — 19 days ago

There are a few champs i really love. I love the kit, I love the skins, I love the way it feels to play them...except that I dont love being behind every game from the moment the game starts and constantly misplaying and/or dying because the champion or role is just not conducive to my playstyle.

When I first started playing in January the first champion I fell in over with was Kog'maw. I just adore him. I really thiught it would be a Kog'maw otp I loved him so much. Unfortunately, I *suck* at kog'maw. I'm a terrible adc that cant last hit to save my life, I constantly die in lane whether its bot or mid, ad or ap. If we can make it through thr laning phase and into the late game he's a monster and all I have to do is sit back and spam abilities. But the laning phase is so god awful...

Eventually, I gave up. I wasnt having fun because I was so inept. I was just miserable.

Ive also dabbled in other adcs, hoping another one would click. Xayah is who I perform thr best on but my cs is still abysmal and I still die all the time. I dont really like bot lane tbh and even though Xayah is cool and easy to use I dont really love her thr way I do other champs. Its mkre like "oh. I got filled bot. Guess I'll go Xayah then."

Now I'm a jungle main and I'm having the same problem with jungle champs. When I queue up for a game sometimes the enemy jungler or adc or mid will pick a champion I love and I feel a little sad.

Also, I want to clarify something. I am, generally speaking, pretty bad at the game. Im bronze in ranked right now. But there are champions that I just perform better on and that seem to naturally work better with my playstyle. Mainly tanks and off tanks/bruisers. And dont get me wrong, I really like these champs, but there's just...something missing. That spark I felt when I played kog'maw for thr first time. Or Samira. God I loved playing Samira. But I didnt love immediately dying every time I comboed into my ult...

I know that with practice, technically anything is possible. But I really dont know if I can be an effective laner, at least not on the champions I want.

So, after all that, TLDR my question still stands: Did you abandon a beloved champ because you sucked too much? Or because the lane wasnt right for you? Did you ever come back? Or did you say "screw it, I LOVE this champion and I dont care how bad I am or how long it takes me to improve I WILL play it"? Were you still having fun? Or was it miserable? Have you actually improved? Do you regret the decision?

I was playing normals last night (draft) with my husband and his coworkers and after a few good games we were all in a pretty good mood. One of the guys, for whatever reason, started feeling a little mischievous and got us all to invade the enemy jungler at level 1. 4 of us in the party and one random we got grouped with(our mid laner) and even that guy followed us. All we did was drop a ward and take the guys red buff before getting chased out of his jungle by his bot and mid laners.

This is NOT something we usually do and I would never try to pull this off in ranked, but it was a fun time and a great way to start the game. The enemy jungler ended up invading my red side when he saw this go down and my top laner saw it and went in to stop him. He ended up getting the kill and then we all chuckled and went back to playing a normal game.

It was a few minutes later when I realized I hadnt seen the enemy jungler at all. I check the board and what do you know, im at level 6 with a bunch of items and hes level 2 with a stacked red pet.

The guy just immediately went afk after he died. The guys asked about him in the all chat and they said something along the lines of (I keep chat off so didnt see it) "yeah you guys took his red buff and he freaked out and left".

That is wild to me. Was it a cheese play? Yeah. Was the game over and unwinnable? Not even close lmao. To the rest of his teams credit they did not FF and played all the way through and I think put up a really good fight. I just think that if you get that tilted over a single death/invade maybe jungle isn't the role for you :/

I thought i would be a Briar main. Logans content is so awesome and educational and he just seems like a really cool, chill guy.

But, alas. I don't really play her anymore. So I'm in the market for a youtuber that has Logan vibes but for the champs I've listed. I hope you guys know some!

I hate getting invaded. It sucks. And its worse if I actually come into contact with them because I feel like im probably going to lose the 1v1.

Unless I pick Nocturne.

My champ pool is Nocturne, Cho'gath, and Sejuani. I feel like on Sej and Cho I really need two good full clears before I think too seriously about ganking. Getting invaded or, worse, dieing while getting invaded, puts me seriously behind and I never recover.

But Nocturnes level 1 is pretty strong and he wins the 1v1 more often than not, and I have an easier time counter invading.

In higher elos, it probably makes more sense to pick a jungler that counters other laners or something im sure, but down here in bronze I feel champion mastery and macro are way more important.

So my thought process here is if I see a jungler thats like, for sure going to level 1 invade me I should pick Noc. If I see a champ that wants to full clear, I can pick Sej or Cho and be reasonably confident that I can clear uninterrupted. Plus if they show for a gank early I know im good to invade and get myself an extra camp or two.

Is there a list of early invaders and does this make sense?

Im unsure if this would be a better post for Steam. Basically I have a little desktop companion called Bit Buddy that mirrors my mouse movements and keyboard clicks. I'd like him to sit on top of league between my ability bar and my mini map, similar to how streamers sometimes put their face cams there, but I cant figure out how to do it. Ive poked at all the settings in Bit Buddy itself, so either the app doesnt have that ability or its a setting in league that I cant find.

If you know how to make it work id really appreciate it. Alternatively, suggestions for other desk companions that do sit on top of league.
