NEET droppers who prepared completely from home — what was your experience?
NEET droppers who prepared completely from home — what was your experience?
I’m planning to take a drop for NEET and prepare from home, without joining coaching (at least that’s my current plan). I’d really like to hear from people who have actually gone through a drop year.
A few things I’d love to know:
- How many hours did you actually study/productively contribute per day? Not the ideal number, the realistic one.
- Did you take offline/online coaching, or self-study? If you took coaching, was it actually worth it for you?
- If you prepared without coaching, what resources/books/test series did you use?
- How did you structure your daily routine? Did you follow a strict timetable or a more flexible routine?
- What did you do when you completely lost motivation or started questioning your goal?
- How often did you have those “I’m wasting my drop year” / “maybe I should give up” phases? 😭
- What helped you stay consistent when studying from home?
- What are some things you wish you had done differently during your drop year?
- What are your biggest DOs and DON’Ts for someone starting a drop from home?
- And honestly, is coaching necessary for NEET, or can someone realistically do it through disciplined self-study + good test series?
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who started their drop with a lot of uncertainty and still managed to make it work, rather than only people who were already extremely disciplined.
Would really appreciate honest experiences, including the bad parts. 🥲
