So a few weeks ago I collected my one year old HR-V. 2025 UK model. When I test drove the car everything was fine. I don't drive fast but I did put my foot down a bit just to see how it performed and I thought it was adequate. The area around the dealership is flat with no hills.

I genuinely like the car apart from the way the engine revs it's nuts off when I try to overtake quickly or accelerate up hill. Even on a fairly gentle incline, if I just want to maintain 70mph it will start to rev and doesn't sound good. To be clear, it's not rattly etc, just noisy from the high rpm.

How do you cope with this? I'm assuming the US models may be different but for anyone with the 1.5 petrol hybrid version, do you just turn the radio up and learn to ignore the revving?

I've wanted to be a writer for decades. It's only in the last year that I've taken it seriously. I've grown to find being in my office, sitting at my desk, and immersing myself in my writing has become my place of comfort, my happy place. Maybe it's a poor reflection on the rest of my life, but shutting the door and getting lost in my book is something I look forward to every morning. I only get an hour each day, first thing, to write.

Am I weird for feeling like this?

Title says it all. I've just started out self-publishing books, mainly on Amazon. Sales are very small at moment. I'm trying to set up a suitable business bank account but they all seem to need proof of business activity which I can't provide. No documents, no tax return, etc. It's just me uploading my books and making a little bit of money.

How is someone in my position supposed to get a business bank account?

Title says it all. I have been using Reedsy studio on and off for quite a while and just started a free trial of their add-ons. There are some useful things there but I'm not sure yet which ones I'll benefit from the most. Does anyone have any experience of these add-ons, which do you find useful etc.

So, I've been a Windows user for decades. I have owned a few macs over the years but I'm back with an M4 MBA. With Windows I'd wipe the OS and start again at least once a year. I only use a dozen or so apps and all my data is cloud based so it's not a big deal. It was mainly when things started to feel cluttered or if I was worried about a possible virus or malware.

Now I'm on Mac again I am finding it very hard to shake that mindset. Obviously malware is less of an issue. My Macbook Air. has a 256gb SSD and it's showing system data as 78gb with 75gb free. To me that system data is niggling away at my brain, like I want it gone, plus i feel everything is cluttered.

It's still working as smooth and fast as ever.

How often do you erase everything and why do you do it?

This is only relevant to UK readers. I just popped into my local Currys to see what the Neo is like ‘In the flesh’. They had several ex-demo M4 MBAs, which I assume means display models, for £649. I thought this was cheap, but obviously they could have be bashed about a bit by heavy handed customers. Just thought I’d share that in case anyone wants a MBA, it might be worth looking in your local Currys.

Regarding the Neo, I was impressed. I only played around with it for 5 mins but it felt speedy enough, the screen looked perfectly good enough for non-professional stuff, and the keyboard felt good so if I didn’t already have an M4 MBA I’d happily get a Neo.

I sometimes need to erase stubborn USB flash drives. If i've been playing around with old hardware and trying out Chrome OS Flex or Linux it can make the flash drive hard to erase completely. My go-to tool has always been GParted but as far as I can see there's no mac version (Apple Silicon). Is there a simple way to manage partitions without using the terminal, or is there a simple terminal command to erase all partitions on a flash drive and format? I’ve tried disk utility but it can’t see all the partitions so it doesn’t do what i need.Thanks

Hi everyone. So i have a 2004 15 seat mk6 minibus (RWD 2.4 TDDI) with all the back seats removed. 228,000 miles. Recent timing chain kit and starter motor plus both batteries, good tyres all round, new MOT. The usual rust in places, looking tired, recent drivers step welded so nothing needs welding soon, although it’s a transit. I’ve owned it for 7 years. Ultra reliable just slow (90hp).

I get asked a lot if it’s for sale, even people knocking on my door asking. I’ve always thought no, but I wonder what it could sell for as it seems to be in demand, probably for a camper conversion.

As the title says, I love this book. I've always loved planes and flying and this has lots of that with smuggling in the Carribean thrown in. I first read it about 20 years ago and it's one that's really stuck with me. Lecomber was a pilot in real life and I think he only wrote a couple of books. Has anyone else here read it?

Do you include a copyright page in your books? When I export my book with Reedsy Studio it automatically adds a copyright page to the front matter. Is this expected for self published authors? As far as I know, in the UK, creators are automatically granted copyright protection for their work. Does this apply to other countries?

So yesterday I wanted to open a PDF as a double page spread (a book). At the time i didn’t think i could do it in the preview app so i downloaded Acrobat reader. I was shocked that the download was nearly 800mb. Then i was even more shocked when it required almost 3gb of space 😳😳😳 WTF!!!

In the ‘good old days’ Windows and Office would fit very very easily on a 500mb drive. What the hell has happened?

I'm trying to host a music quiz night. I was trying to use gemini to generate multiple quizzes on different artists. Here is my prompt:
