I don’t think any of us are surprised. I hope the public sees through the Ford government’s giant veil of BS. Given how unpopular Ford and PCs are right now now, and the number items that the public don’t trust them on, I’m optimistic this ploy will backfire.

Refillable souvenir cups

How strict is security with fans bringing refillable cups from previous games?

Anyone with experience trying to get in with theirs?

Edit: thanks for all the feedback. Brought our cups to the game and security didn’t seem to care. However, they gave us a hard time when we tried ordering our drinks because they weren’t the 50th anniversary cups but the design they had from earlier in the season. Ah, well. It was worth the shot.

Another false advertising n product origin.

Local Zehrs flyer says Product of Canada for cherries. Went to local store. No Canadian cherries anywhere. I spoke with the manager and he was expressed as much frustration about this as I was feeling. I’m not the first customer to bring it up to him. And he confirmed the advertised product was the US cherries they have in stock.

He also said he was frustrated that they keep getting put in this position where the flyers, which they don’t produce on their own, have the origin listed and wrong, and then have no say over the cherries they’re drop shipped.

Matt Stajan’s autograph?

This seems like a simple confirmation. It’s the number 14 and I remember getting this at a fundraiser around 2008 or 2009 and I thought the player was on the roster at the time. And I think the autograph looks like it says ‘Matt Stajan’. These indicate it’s Matt Stajan. However, a couple other people, who were there and helped organize the event, seem to think it was someone else but can’t agree on who. They don’t believe Stajan attended.

Help prove I’m right. Thanks.

A good explanation of the ownership evolution and the impacts of Tim Hortons.

This video is about 99% correct. It really gets the RBI approach to ownership correct and the challenges franchisees faced and continue to face. I’m a former franchisee and got out in the five-year transition phase following RBI’s purchase. I got out because the writing was on the wall about RBI’s plans. My friends and colleagues who disagreed with my outlook or thought they could ride it out have mostly struggled or eventually sold as well because of RBI.

Edgefest 1998 - Canada Day

Did anyone else get to experience this show or another on the tour? It was such a blast. The mix of Canadian alt-rock stars with megastars like Foos and Green Day was a crazy experience for an 18 year old.
