i have made several posts on reddit asking people whether they'd live a meaningless life over a meaningful one in different variants and subreddits. and not a single one said they'd live a meaningless life, even preferring a life with an incomplete meaning.
i never understood why. meaning in life is just extremely limiting, even something so much as 'passing our genes to the next of kin' limits us from taking life threatening risks, which some may think is ok, good even. but is it? this branches off into its own entire route of discussion (i.e we all take risks without benefit like setting an alarm for the next day... when you dont even fucking know whether you'll survive. what if you get hit by a car? what if your cholestrol catches up and you get a heart attack? but the moment i choose a risk myself it's taboo?)
