Dakgalbi

My take on Korean bbq chicken. I have been using Frontier lump for a few cooks now. Pretty good.

Edit:
Since some people asked for a recipe

I really didn’t have one but here is my best guesstimate
Chicken thighs
1 small onion
Few cloves of garlic
Few scallions
1 apple
1/2 cup sesame oil
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 cup water
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
2tbsp gochijang (Korean red pepper paste)

Use blender for marinade. Reserve 1/4 for mop sauce.

I did a quick marinade but I’m sure overnight would be better.
Grill indirect and then a quick sear color.
Then go back to indirect and mop sauce and let set for a few minutes.

Grass taste from Philips 3200 lattego

Anyone ever deal with this. I’ve had it for 7 years. Moved to a new state and recently coffee tastes like grass. Did a thorough clean. Perhaps I need to disassemble and get into the grinder. Almost about to send it to the dumpster. Every time I fill the water tank the pump has a hard time with the first brew and I waste a coffee beans.

End of lease cross shopping

Forever a procrastinator. Lease ends in 13 days. I have a 23 GV60P. Looked at an EV9, nicer than I thought. Just test drove an R2, didn’t love the drive feel. Might have a chance to get an IX3 that someone dropped a reservation on but can’t see or test drive that car. Thought about Ioniq5N or a Magma but already want more range and do I need more than my performance already has? EX60 looks nice but delivery is too far out. Curious what other cars people are looking. My current car still seems to be at the top of my list.

Korean tofu

Dubu San Diego Tofu Co is open.

As. Korean American transplant from Philly this place is legit good. Had the Sundubu and raw marinated crab combo, $33. Just stew is $18.99 and you get a fried fish with it. Yum. Looks like they are also going to open another location in Convoy.

No reservation

Anyone have luck finding one without a reservation. AI implied some dealers may have allocation that is not reserved and I know some may walk away from their reservation. One dealer told me they might have one but I would have to pay the reserved price which they say is $5k over MSRP.

Cast iron grates

Curious on people’s experience with these grates. Napoleon is enameled and some complain about the handles not fitting. Mallory looks solid. They also make a companion coal grate with a divider block but not going to replace my slow n sear.Thoughts? I’ve been riding with my original grate for 15 years.

Lease ending 2023 performance

Just curious how others are handling this. Originally planned to buy it out. Residual is about $38.5k. Not as bad as I once thought based on CPO. Would love more range but love this car. Thought about leasing a RWD base but test drove it and realized I would miss the Performance trim. Eventually I want something with more range to hit the mountains and don’t want more than one car.

Rogue pro s 625 vs Prestige 500

I’m coming from a Weber family of charcoal product but would like a gas grill for larger parties. I like the prestige but want the larger Rogue at a similar price point. Does the quality fall off or is cooking on a Rogue just as good as the Prestige hinge hood aside.

Napoleon vs Weber

I’ve own several Weber grills with no problems but always left them when we moved. I mostly grill on my kettle and smoke on my WSMs. Would love to have a gas grill option for larger parties. I have been cross shopping N Prestige 500 vs Rogue Pro S 625 vs Weber 435. All similar in price. Prestige seems best built feel like it defeats my need for a larger grill for parties. Anyone else cross shops these weighing the quality and in particular grill size?

12V battery

Never thought I would post twice in one day but after I told the dealer I would pick up my care without the brake fluid flush the notified me that my battery died while they were running diagnostics. I’ve never had a problem before and I know it is a known problem but has anyone else have this happen while at service. This was supposed to be my last service before the lease ends.

Brake fluid complimentary maintenance

I have a 2023 still under warranty and comp maintenance. At my service check today I was told I need brake fluid flushed and filled and that it was not covered and I needed to pay for it. This is not at the dealership that I purchased from. Anyone else have this experience?
