Retaliatory treatment after complaint
Some of you may have seen my earlier post regarding being denied Aurora products by Dr. James Cameron at Cannabis Clinic, where I detailed why I thought his refusal was ungrounded, and asked for advice from this community.
It's been several months of trialing what I was prescribed, and today I had a follow up with James. This is my first appointment since raising a complaint with the clinic after my last appointment.
At the beginning of the video call, I tried to clear the air - even apologising for my last complaint and letting him know I respect his prescribing decisions to give me lower strength Bloom flower, as opposed to higher strength Aurora flower.
He checked whether I'd had any negative interactions with the flower I get (I hadn't had any). He checked if my medical situation was the same - it is.
I was then, at the end of the video call, denied a re-script of the same medication he'd previously prescribed, along with any other flower. He quoted a medical reason that is not consistent with my diagnosis as his reasoning (rapid cycling bi-polar, of which I am explicitly *not* diagnosed, lol)
His demeanor and attitude during this phase of the call where particularly strange - he was grinning to himself as he denied my script.
It felt 100% like retaliation for my previous complaint to the clinic about him, and did not have any backing in medical reasoning.
I'm currently awaiting a clinic review, and have contacted the Health and Disability Commission for advocacy and potential complaints to the Medical Council of NZ.
Warning to those who deal with him that IMO there's a distinct possibility his decision making is not impartial.
