Just posted the latest chapter of my Mareach fanfic! It’s a little bit lengthy, too.

For those not in the know, this is a sort of slowburn ship fic that has Mario and Peach slowly growing closer as they adventure together to stop a new (and yet old) villain. They use tag-team antics to overcome obstacles, much the same as Mario and Luigi do in their RPG series.

It’s also written sort of like a fake strategy guide for an imaginary game. So while you get the whole story, dialogue and narrative, you also get a lowdown of how the “game” would play in each section. It’s…experimental.

Gotta say, those Chapter 12 challenges were not nearly as difficult as I thought they were gonna be (with the possible exception of Hop or Drop), but they sure were fun nonetheless! Probably one of my favorite parts of the game.

But for me, most of the difficulty came from trying to figure out a lot of those mind-bending discoveries back in the ten regular chapters. Even WITH a walkthrough, some of them tested my critical thinking skills. Wow.
